Summer Nights
Chapter Nineteen
*Holly's P.O.V*
"l wish Mr. Connell would get the flu and shrivel up or something," Louis grumbled as we exited the classroom. I giggled, going to our lockers.
"Add Melissa to that list," I said, reaching on the high shelf for my English book. A hand snaked in and grabbed the object. I turned around, and Niall handed it to me.
"Uh, thanks," I said, and he nodded, getting his supplies.
"So, what Ryan said; is there really a winter dance?" I asked, waiting for him while the others went ahead. He tossed his Spanish workbook into his locker, shrugging.
"Yeah, but none of us ever get asked, except for that one time Melissa and the rest of us went as friends, but that didn't end so well," he replied, starting to walk down the hallway with me.
"It's in early December, and it's called the Snowflake Ball, and all the girls treat it like it's some kind of senior prom." He rolled his eyes, but quickly corrected himself.
"Of course, if you like it, then I guess it's cool, but all of us only went once."
"Why?" I asked.
"Eh, everyone wanted to go with Ryan and his lunkhead friends." I laughed as the both of us headed to the English classroom.
"It sounds. . . nice, but if I do go, it'll be the first dance I've ever been to," I admitted. Niall stopped, turning to me.
"What?! How can that possibly be the only dance?" He asked me in disbelief. I shrugged, adjusting the objects in my arms.
"Come on; I'll teach you how to dance if you're nervous. Besides, a certain group of friends might force you to go," he said with a wink.
"I know Louis won't leave me alone until I say yes," I groaned, and he chuckled.
"But, hey," I shrugged. "It's about three months away, so why start planning now?"
"I still think I should teach you how to dance," Niall grumbled, and I ruffled his hair.
"Maybe we can arrange that later," I said, going into the English room.
"Lunch?" He offered, following me.
"Works for me."
