After school was over i received a text from Josh. He told me he was going to go over to Louis house which surprisingly was four houses away from ours.
I shrugged at the text. I guess i was going to be walking home alone.
"Hey Rachel, you want to hang out?" Carol told me as we made our way outside
"Ah, sure" i replied. I actually felt happy now that she had invited me to hang out
"Cool, come on, let me introduce you to one of my friends" she said grabbing my hand and pulling me outside the school
We walked over to the back of the school where a guy and a girl where sitting down on the grass. They were both smoking cigarettes.

"Joshua" Carol yelled as we approached them
"Oh hey Carly" the guy name Joshua waved
"Guys, meet my new friend Rachel" Carol told them
"Hey" Joshua said getting up from the floor. "I'm Joshua" he said extending his hand so that i could shake it
"Hey" i replied shaking his hand
"Im Richie" the blond girl that was seating next to Joshua said
"You guys want a smoke?" Joshua said smilling at me
"SURE!" Carol said exitedly
"What about you Rachel?" Joshua asked, his eyes glued to mines
"Ah, no i don't smoke" i told him
"Oh, don't be a prude, smoke one. It's not going to kill you" Richie said taking a pull from her cigarette
"Yea, come on Rachel" Carol said sitting down next to Richie
"Oh, what the hell. Sure give me one" i said giving in. It wasn't like this was my first time smoking.
I sat down next to Carol and Joshua sat next to me. He gave Carol and I a cigarette and lit it for us.

"Won''t we get in trouble?" i asked them
"Not really, the teachers really don't care if we smoke" Richie told me
"So you're new here, how come i didn't see you around the school?" Joshua asked me, leaning closer to me
" Well she's a Junior like me" Carol told him
"No wonder you know her" Richie replied
"Are you guys seniors?" i asked them
"Yep, we were actually left back" Joshua told me
"Wow really?" I asked, i was really interested
"Well" Joshua said scratching the bridge of his nose with his free hand
"Last year i got into this fight with this dumbass. It wasn't really worth it but he was looking for it" He told me
"There's a lot of dumb asses in this school" i admitted
"Yea, sad you had to notice on the first day of school" he told me
I nodded.
"You never told me that's why you got left back" Carol butted in
"Well, you never asked" Joshua shot back "But yea, i got into a nasty fight with Louis and his boys" he admitted
"What" Carol and I said in unison
"Yea, it was all because those bitches that are always with them ganged up on Richie" he said looking at Richie
"It was nothing though, does bitches are all talk but no action" Richie said flipping her hair
"Yea, Richie messed Danielle up. I guess the boys didn't like that since they came after her the next day. I wasn't going to let five idiots touch her. Just like they're protective of their girls, i'm protective of mine" Joshua said taking a pull.
"Wait, you guys are together?" i asked looking from Joshua to Richie
"Oh, no ew, he's like a brother to me" Richie said rolling her eyes
" she's my bestfirend. But yea that's the whole story" Joshua said putting out his cigarette
"They're assholes i swear. I had an encounter with Eleanor today. I really don't know what her problem is" I told them
"yea, she's really stuck up. i can't stand none of them" Richie said

After two hours of talking i stood up from the ground and told them i had to go home. Carol said she was going to walk me home but Joshua also volunteered to do so too. In the end, Joshua ended up taking Carol and I home in his car. Richie had to meet someone around the school so she didn't come with us.
The car ride was fun, i got to know Joshua a little bit more. Despite being a "bad boy" Joshua was really nice and funny. Unlike that asshole, Louis. After dropping Carol off, he drove me to my house. I thought the ride was going to be awkward but it turned out to be a really fun ride.
