Here's to Never Growing up!
Chapter 2
The boy's stories are all the same. They all came within a month of each other. The sad reality was they were all un-wanted pregnancies. Jake's mother was a ballroom dancer at the young age of 17. She named him after the man who made her dream to be a dancer come true. She didn't want to give up the career she had work so hard for up. His father was a custodian at the local high school. He work for minimum wage, and had a drinking problem. Terrence's mother was a young lawyer who wanted to live out her dream. She had made it so far, and thought she was making the right decision. His father was the son of a highly respected business man. He never new about his son. His parents are still together. Jacks mother was a Victoria's Secret model, who slept around. He was the product of a one night stand.
His mother made a selfish decision, and she and the other boy's mothers regret what they did every second of every day. She and the other moms go to a therapy group session for those who have put their child up for adoption. Marissa's story is very different. She was the child of a two fourteen year olds. She was aborted but she managed to pull through. She was born after both parents turned fifteen. Just before her birth they were married. Her parents were madly in love, but like all couples had their fights. Her parents were both put in jail when she was 3 months old for driving without a license, while drunk, under aged. She stayed in the house of hope until they got out of Juvie, and off of parole. When she was finally reunited with her parents, she was three. Her mother was distraught that she missed all of her firsts. Sadly her mother turned to alcohol and constantly fought with her father. After a year of their fighting they got a divorce and fought for custody of Marissa. But before awarding custody the judge called for an at home interview to see both environments. Sadly they discover that both parents were druggies. She was soon returned to The House of Hope. She was adopted and returned more times than a person could count. This was not her fault. Every set of new parents were abusive, druggies or decided they didn't want her. By age eight, she was permanently place in The House of Hope, the only place with people who loved her. In fourth grade, she starting getting bullied brutally. She had lost all trust in adults and other children, except the six siblings she grew up with. When she was ten, she became mute and started to cut. She was only ever happy on her numerous adventures with Lucy, Drew, Jack, Terrence, Jake, and Aron. Her friends made sure that ever weekend was a new adventure so that they could see her smile. By the time she was eleven, she and all of her friends were fluent in sign language. Her friends never knew about her cuts.
