HARRY's POV

How can he plead not guilty?! And use insanity as an excuse? Niall having a mental problem? Ya, no. I've known him for over 4 years, if he had a mental problem I wouldve noticed by now. II pretty much block everything out trying to see if maybe there was ever a sign of Niall being crazy. I snap out of my thoughts when a shrink is called to the stand.

"Dr. Patel, is it possible for a person with traumatic stress to do things without knowing what they are doing?" Diane asks the doctor. Diane is Niall's family's lawyer. She's really good but Alexis is better, she's my lawyer.

"Yes, it is possible. With Niall's symptoms I believe he has D.I.D. aka Dissociative Identity Disorder," the man responds.

"Dr. do you mind describing what D.I.D. is for the court?" Diane asks.

"Not at all. D.I.D. is an extremely rare metal disorder characterized by at least two distinct and relatively enduring identities or dissociated personality states that alternately control a person's behavior. It is.. umm... accompanied by memory impairment for important information, you know, it is not explained by ordinary forgetfulness," The doctor says.

"So you are saying that my client isnt responsible for these charges because he has an alternate personality that took over and committed these crimes?" Diane asks.

"Objection your honor! She's persuading the witness!" Alexis shouts.

"Ms. Miller, Please re word your question," The judge orders Diane.

Diane rolls her eyes,"Dr. Patel, is my client suffering from D.I.D.?"

"Yes he is," Patel says.

"No further questions your honor," Diane asks.

"Go ahead Alexis, ask him more questions," I whisper to her.

"I can't Harry I already had my turn. All I can do is call up another witness," She whispers back.


ZAYN's POV

"Sorry about them. They shouldve never pinned Demi's death on you like that, it wasnt your fault," I pull Vanessa into a hug.

"I am though! If I wouldve stopped being a brat and gave my phone to them right away she still might be alive," SHe cries into my chest.

"Dont say that," I whisper.

"Demi and I werent all that close but while Allison was away when Lilly died, we had a connection. Once Allison came back everyone hated me. It's my faault she's dead," she cries into my chest even harder.

"BAby no, it's not your fault. It's ok, Demi is in a better place," I try to soothe her. I pull out our hug and cup her face. I bring her chin up and plat a soft kiss on her lips.

"Please dont cry, don't blame yourself," I beg of her. She nods her head and kisses my lips. I smile a little when I feel her pulse calm down.

"I make you calm," I say.

"You keep me down to earth," She smiles before wrapping her arms around my neck and crashing her lips to mine.
