Free Falling ~ A Louis Tomlinson Love Story

Free Falling ~ A Louis Tomlinson Love Story ~ Ch. 2

"C'mon, Olivia! Get your lazy fat ass up! We've got a long day ahead of us, Ella hummed.
"Well I can honestly say that you won't if you stay in my room," I groaned. My roommate chuckled then threw a pillow at me.

"I'm going to go eat Lucky Charms. With or without you," she threw over her shoulder before strutting out of our room.

My time at home didn't last long. Time sped by quickly, and I soon grew to call it my worst enemy for taking away precious time. Soon I was settled into a hotel room with a girl I had never met in my life. It didn't take us long to get on, however. She was lovely, and her voice was simply mesmerizing. We were somewhat close in age (she being 16, and I 19), so it worked out to my advantage.

I remember leaving home clearly, though I dislike reminiscing on it greatly. My mum was the worst. She was a tearful, stuttering, hiccuping mess. She tried her hardest to look pleased for me, like any mother in their right mind would do, but she has a horrid poker face. My dad was silent as he watched me say goodbye; I remember how his normally bright face was stricken and overcome with sadness. My friends on the other hand were the exact opposite. In order to hide how they really felt, they painted this picture of pure positivity. You know, rainbows, unicorns, ponies, Lucky Charms.... Anyway, they constantly over exaggerated my talent and went on about how lovely seeing the world would be. But I knew they felt differently.

I scurried out of my bed shaking of the blankets along with the memories of home, and chased after Ella. My little legs carried my tired body out of the room and towards the hotel restaurant swiftly. I reached the table Ella was sitting at finally. Trying to hide my lack of air, I smiled at her. I noticed she had already received a bowl of cereal. She shoved a spoon full into her mouth, making sure I was watching. That smart ass.

I snatched the bowl from under her and planted my bum on the chair across from her. Taking a spoon, I dramatically shoveled the delicacy into my mouth. Finishing the food, I stuck my tongue out at her. Ella looked around, surveying our audience, then quickly flipped me the bird. I only smirked knowing I won. But Ella obviously knew I hadn't.

"Nice jammies," Ella snickered. She definitely made sure to speak loud and clear, accentuating every word so people around could hear. I looked down at my attire in horror. I had completely forgotten about my Looney Tune themed pajamas! My brain was still clouded from sleep causing me to forget something so simple. Or maybe it was the fact that Lucky Charms were a mere two minutes away, calling me... Either way, this was humiliating.

I sprinted out and headed to the elevator, praying that no one would see me. But I had no suck luck.

Just as the door was closing, someone stuck their hand in its path to stop it. With wide eyes, I eagerly waited for the stranger to enter. Great. Another victim for my torturous appearance. I mentally rolled my eyes. When I caught sight of him, I saw he had black hair cut into a buzz cut style. His tanned skin show no flaws in sight, and his deep brown eyes were doing the same as my green ones were: observing. He stepped in, and never wiped a stupid grin off of his face. I stood tall and erect, trying to up my height.

"I never like Looney Tunes," he told me suddenly.

Despite my unease about the stranger, my nerves flew away instantly, leaving me with only shock for an emotion. "What?" I asked.

The man, who's name is still unknown to me, finally looked at me, and his grin grew wider. He shrugged as the elevator stopped. He swiftly got out and I finally let go of a breath I didn't realize I was holding. I slumped back into the wall.

Soon Ella returned, and cracked a few jokes about my display earlier. "Oh haha, very funny." I rolled my eyes at her.

"I know, I'm hilarious." Ella flipped her hair then walked to the bathroom to bathe. WE found ourselves distracted on many occasions while we were supposed to get ready, but hey, what more do you expect from girls?

"Olivia Rae Thull, give me my damn phone back!" She whined miserably. Ella was preparing for a bath, which I don't understand in the slightest. Why would you want to sit in dirt water? Anyways, I couldn't let her get off so easily for her jokes. So I decided I'd call, hm, what's his name? Nathanial? Mark? James? One of those. But apparently they're the big hot shots of her school, and I thought I could give them a little ring.

Teasing her, I leaned over the tub - that was full, mind you - and acted like I was going to give her back her mobile. At the last minute, I pulled back and watched with pure bliss as she plashed into the soapy water. The look on her face showed utter fear and she flinched when she hit it. I blinked a few times before doubling over with laughter. Giggling like mad, I snapped a few pics on my cell (that was luckily stored safely in my pocket) while Ella fumed.

"Now, love. Try to control that temper of yours. Your face is as red as a tomato!" I teased.
Stepping out of the tub, she smiled evilly at me. "You're right. I should show love instead of hate. So c'mere. Let's have a hug, then." She motioned me to come forward but I was long gone. I screamed at the top of my lungs hysterically as I ran. I turned, my blonde hair whipping around me, and saw Ella stomping in. I covered my mouth my hand to stop the oncoming laughs. Her hair was thrown in every direction and her clothes were soaked. I noticed she had bubble covering her left eyebrow and tilted my head in wonder. She would look so strange without eyebrows. Her forehead would show to be much larger. Those little mini mustaches for our heads really do make all the difference in the world.

My slight dip into Wonderland gave Ella the perfect opportunity to creep towards me. At the last second I sprung away with the speed of a gazelle, and hopefully just as graceful. My friend's frustration grew by the second. I watched as she flounced my way and giggle came out of me once more.

"Come now, love. You were bound to get were anyways! Why delay the inevitable? I did you a favor," I told her matter of factly. Ella snarled then lunged at me, a look of outrage and determination written all over her face. I tried to bounce the other way, but Ella anticipated this, for she grabbed my arm and yanked me to her body.

I felt the bubbles foam around me, meshing with my hair and clothes. I don't know how long we stood there, but when she finally released me, she patted my head - like I was a child - the skipped off. I grumpily blew hair out of my eyes. I may have been the elder in the situation, but she definitely taught me a lesson.

..................

I nervously toyed with my dress while waiting to perform and Ella scowled me. "Stop you fidgeting, you're going to be great." I smiled meekly at her. It was hard, I loved this girl to death even though it had only been a few days. I'm so glad I met her, but she's so talented. And since we were in the same group, I had to compete against her. At the end of the day, she is my competition, and we fight for the same thing. She wins, or she loses. I win, or I lose.

I let a shaky breath escape my lips. Hoping it'll take my mind off things, I strayed to a nearby mirror and looked at myself scanning for imperfections. I was wearing a turquoise high-low dress with a brown belt. I topped it with a brown leather jacket and wore simple white vans. I let my blonde hair fall in light waves, and wore light makeup.

"Er, 'scuse me, miss?" I turned around to see a lanky boy, probably a year or two older than me wearing a silly headset. I arched my eyebrow in question. "You're on." With that he scurried off leaving me with my thoughts.

I walked over, retrieved a microphone, and stepped onto the stage. Once again, the lights blinded me, and my eyes took a moment to adjust.

"Hello there," someone greeted. The voice was not familiar, referring to my audition. But how could I not know her? I saw that Sharon was replaced with none other than Tulisa Contostavlos. I frowned in confusion, but shook it off. I heard a chorus of "hello"s and muttered one myself. I heard them ask a few questions like if we were prepared, or nervous. I wanted to shout, "Um, yes I'm nervous! I am in no way ready for this performance!" But I kept quiet.
Soon the music to "Please Don't Go" and I began my solo. I let go of everything I feared, and focused on my purpose.

"Let's run away from these lies. Back to yesterday, save tonight. I feel the sun creeping up like tick tock. I'm trying to keep you in my head but if not, we'll just keep running from tomorrow with our lips locked. Yeah, you got me begging, begging."
Taking a deep breath, I paused and awaited the cue to start the chorus. I saw the judges look deeply invested, drinking up my performance. Looking for mistakes, no doubt. Something to fix. But I shouldn't focus on that now. Far too much was at risk.

"Baby, please don't go. If I wake up tomorrow will you still be here? I don't know if you feel the way I do. If you leave I'm gon' find you. Baby please don't go, go, go. Baby please don't go, go, go. Baby plea don't go, go, go. Baby please don't, baby please don't."
I finished off strong, and saw Tulisa nod in approval to Nicole. I smiled a little bit, then stepped back for the next person.
Time, again, went by way too fast and before I knew it I was standing before the judges waiting to hear if I was moving on or not. My breath stayed stuck in my throat and my head was pounding harder than ever before. I felt my legs sway a bit, but tried to keep my ground. Please, they'd be stupid to let you go! You're magnificent! My subconscious screamed. I shut her up. This was not the time to get cocky. Anything was possible at this point.

"Olivia," I heard Louis say. I snapped my attention to him and felt my heart speed up. If my heart was going up against a plane right about now, my heart will have aged greatly before the plane caught up. "You have..." My breathing hitched and I shut my eyes preparing myself for the worst.

Notes

Oh. My. God. That was too long. I apologize, guys. Really. I wanted to get a chapter up, but I had so much to say! Ugh. I felt that if I cut it short, then it would be way boring, but then I added too much and now it's still boring. Boo. It'll pick up soon, though. I promise.

These are actual 2012 contestants for the X Factor UK. I'm just tweaking it a bit ;)

Expect One Direction to make an appearance in the next two or three chapters ok? You just have to hold on until then.

Lemme know what y'all think! Any feedback? Suggestions? Anything would be lovely!
