Soulmates: Gotta find my destiny
I need help
I took out my house key, and when I was about to open the door.
Fuck.
It felt to the floor, and made the strongest noise in the entire world.
“Nice Sophia, keep making noises so mom will get up and screw you” I thought to myself.
I took it up immediately and opened the door; when I was out my heart was beating as fast as it could.
‘What am I doing?’ I really didn’t have a clue, but this time I wasn’t going to let fear take control over me.
I walked down the street, wondering what I was gonna do next. I live in a small shore in Mexico, called Puerto Vallarta, so even if it was midnight on October the weather was really warm.
I figured out I would call a taxi, and go to the bus station. But once again.
Fuck.
I didn’t remember my phone was dead, it fell from the staircase a week before and since then it wont work out.
“That’s a good one, I’m sure you didn’t see it coming” I said to myself again.
And like you can tell, I’m a really weird person, and with my weird personality it comes talking alone.
I stood there in the street waiting for a cab to pass, and after I think thirty minutes one came by.
“Can I help you miss?” he said
“Yes please, can you take me to the bus station?”
“Of course, it will be 15 dollars”
Fuck, I don’t have a lot of money and this ride is going to cost me 15 dollars?
“You’re screw Sophia, you really are” I didn’t notice I said it out loud..
“Excuse me, miss?”
“Oh sorry, it’s nothing. I don’t really have a lot of money, can I pay you 10 dollars instead?”
I needed to try it.
“Sorry miss, but if you’re not willing to pay 15 dollars, you must find other cab, bye”
“No, no, it’s okay I’m going to pay complete” I said before the driver drove away
The ride took over thirty minutes, since it’s a really small town.
When I arrived, I bought a ticket to Guadalajara, the city where I knew someone would help me.
I had now 435 dollars, and I really needed to get money. And Guadalajara was the best place to get it.
The journey took over 5 hours, and when I arrived to Guadalajara I took a cab straight to the place where my financial problem was going to disappear.
My gaze was wandering in the taxi ride, I just kept looking to the city lights, Guadalajara is so different from the town I live, actually I was born here.
“Miss we’re here” the driver said.
“Oh, sorry” I said blushing when I noticed we had arrived minutes ago. I paid and got out of the taxi
I stood there frozen in front of the door, a really familiar door, but at this situation I was really afraid to knock. I eventually did, and waited for someone to open it.
There was no answer, and after a few minutes I knocked again.
“Who’s knocking the door at six in the morning” A beloved voice came from the inside of the house opening the door.
“Granny! Thanks god! I thought you would never open” I said rushing to hug her. Seeing her was so relieving
“Sophia, darling! What are you doing here? Come inside you’re freezing” Yes, actually, the weather in Guadalajara is really different from the weather in Puerto Vallarta.
Once inside of the house, I told her everything that had happened hours ago.
I came to her, because she is the most intelligent and sensitive person I know in the entire world, and I knew she was going to help me and support me no matter what.
“So you want 1000 dollars, for tomorrow, well today cause its already 6 am.?”
She said in a tone I didn’t like..
“Yes, I know it sounds really selfish, but I swear I’m gonna pay you every cent” I said trying to convince her…
“It’s okay darling, but you got to tell me why do you need all that money” She said with a huge smile.
“Look granny, I know you’re not gonna like this, but I can’t tell you, I just can say that I’m finding my destiny and my happiness” I said unsure of what she would think
“I understand, I once had your age, and I had the same doubts and problems you’re having right now, so I’ll help you with everything I can” She said giving me a hug.
We stayed awake since then, had breakfast and at 9 am we left to the bank. I waited in the car until she came in.
“Here” She said handing me an envelope
I opened it and started counting the money, there were 1500 dollars. More than what I expected.
“Granny, this is more than what I asked you for” I said surprised
“Well, I thought you would need it, the plus is a gift from me, you don’t have to pay me those” She said laughing
I nodded and we drove back home.
----------
“Are you ready honey? Do you really have everything you need?” She said a little bit concerned
“Yes granny, I have everything, except a phone, so don’t expect me calling” I said joking
“Take this” She said handing me one of my granddad’s hoddies “So you won’t be cold”
I hugged her and went outside, waiting for Alex, yes, he’s the only true friend I told you I had, he actually moved here, and he has a car so he would drive me to the airport; he knew everything that was going on in my life and after like 5 minutes he arrived.
“Sorry, I got lost getting here” He said with a goofy smile
“You’re so stupid” I said hugging him tight. “I missed you” I said when we got out of the hug.
“Yeah, yeah, all my bitches tell me that” He said laughing
I gave him a little playful smack in the arm.
“Ouch, sure you missed me” He said joking
“You’re a baby” I said getting in the car
When we we’re on the road, he started saying “Have you got everything you’ll need?” “Yes daddy” I said laughing. “Really?” He gave me a strange look. “Clothes?” “Yes” “Money?” “Yes” “Underwear?” “No” I said sarcastically.. “Of course I’ve got it, who do you think I am? “ “Erm, I don’t know, maybe Sophia? You always forget the most important thing you’re going to need, I won’t be surprised if you haven’t brought your passport” He said laughing.
Fuck.
