"Just give her some time", dad said trying to whisper. I rolled my eyes and went into my room slamming the door shut. Me? Giving HER dirty looks ? I don't think so! I sat down on my bed, opened my algebra book and started on my homework. When there is homework over the weekend, I ALWAYS do it Sunday. Its kind of a bad habit, though. "The square root of -1 cannot be defined", I was saying outloud to myself while writing it. "Darcy"!! Dad yelled i quickly shut my book and ran to 'their' room. "Hey. I left my sweatshirt at Louis's house a few days ago. Im gonna go grab it real quick so just stay here with Chloe, kay"? He asked already getting his other sweatshirt on. Greattttt.... "Kay dad. Love you bye", I said waving and going back to my room. Dads made his way to the door,and left. I got back to my homework which I couldn't concentrate on because Chloe walked in. I looked up at her and back down to my homework without saying a word. I could see the dirty look she gave in the corner of my eye. "Listen here lil girl... I don't know who you think you are acting like you run the place because you dont", she said raising her eyebrows. "Did I ever say I did??? I don't think so", i said in my smart voice. She was mad. "Listen. I will be your new mom whether you like it or not. I don't like you just as much as you dont like me but ya know what? Were going to have to live with eachother, hun", she said. Tension went through my body. "Okay first of all, no one will ever be my new mom because she's still considered my mom no matter what. And second of all, don't call me 'hun'. Stop trying to act innocent in front of my dad because its not working. Oh just wait till he gets back and hears THIS conversation. You'll be out the door for sure", i said. "Really"? She said reaching into her pocket while smiling. She pulled out a knife about 7 inches. My eyes widened and heart pounded. "You see this? This is the knife Im gonna use to kill you if you get between me and your dad".
