Darcy
Chapter 29
I sighed.
"Stephanie...", I started.
"Yes"? She asked with a smile. A tear ran down my face as I grabbed the bottom of my tanktop. I slowly lifted it up to reveal a huge burn on my stomach. Her smile slowly faded.
"Darcy! How did this happen"? She asked.
"Chloe did this to me", I said through years. I took my hand and wiped my face leaving face makeup all over it. I had a black eye and bruises on my face. I put my head down in shame. I deserved this. I wasn't grateful for the things my life offered. Stephanie picked up her phone as tears were running down both of our faces. She started dialing a number.
"NO ! DONT CALL MY DAD STEPHANIE DONT TELL ANYONE! STOP! NOOO ! CHLOE WILL KILL ME DONT TELL ANYONE PLEASEEE"! I was screaming while bawling my eyes out. She gasped. She put her phone down and just looked at me.
"Darcyy", she whined.
"You can't tell anyone! Chloe will kill me. She always carries this knife in her pocket that she always threatens to stab
me with! She almost stabbed me in a parking lot. I have been beat,burned,froze,hit,punched,starved, and so much more you just don't understand"! I yelled spilled everything out to her. She opened her arms letting me run into her with a hug. She stroked my hair telling me everything's going to be okay.
"It's okay Darcy. Things will get better", she said as she held me in her arms.
"No they won't! Why do you think I tried to overdose!? I'm sick of her. Dad sees her as this angel but when she's around me, I'm scared to DEATH that she's just gonna kill me already. She's gonna be my step mom in less than 6 months and I hate her with my life"! I said. She started sobbing.
"I don't know what to do. I don't want you to go through with this any longer but I also don't want her to kill you. You need a better step mom that will love you and take care of you", she explained. A lightbulb went off as I wiped away my tears.
"You would be the perfect step mom",i said. Stephanie is 29 while my dad is 30. This could work out! She blushed while laughing.
"Yeah like THAT'S gonna happen", she said getting up and going to the kitchen. She was obviously trying to avoid the conversation. I followed her.
"If Chloe and my dad weren't dating, would YOU date him"? I asked. She shrugged.
"Ehh. No", she said with the lie right in her voice. She took the two liter of Mountain Dew out of the fridge and started pouring us a glass. I shook my head.
"Liar. You like him", I said teasing. She shook her head while her cheeks turned bright pink.
"You don't understand. I went to high school with Harry. He's not into girls like me", she said taking a sip of her pop. I was now confused.
"What do you mean 'girls like you'"? I asked.
"Your in high school. You should know what I'm talking about. Harry was always one of those popular guys that dated like EVERY girl. But if you weren't pretty, we wasn't interested", she explained tucking her brown hair behind her ear. Huh. Interesting to know.
"So why didn't he date you then"? I asked while she was drinking her pop. Her eyes got wide and she spit it all over the counter top. She started choking as she was dying of laughter.
"ME"?? She said laughing. I didn't see what was so funny. I kept a straight face while I slowly nodded.
"Wait till my friends hear about THIS. Harry Styles dating me, Stephanie Rose? That would be like illegal high school. I don't think you know me well enough", she said wiping off the counter top.
" I guess not", I said quietly.
"He didnt even know i existed. Darcy, you wouldn't have the slightest idea", she said. My dad was popular? HAA! Whatever!
"Although. He was an AMAZING singer. Him and his few friends won every talent show together. You know Zayn,Liam,Niall, and Louis right"? She asked.
"Pff! Before that 'thing' moved in, they came over like every day", I said sitting at the dining room table. She joined me.
"Yeah. They even tried out for the X factor before you were born. At age 16, when your mom Brooke got pregnant for you, he didn't think he could finish the competition. He ended up making it halfway through and then all 5 of them got cut. The judges told them to come back at age 18 but they didn't", she was explaining.
"Why"? I asked.
"We'll at age 17, your mom had you. He couldn't just leave you two. You were almost a year old", she said. My heart completely shattered.
"So if I wasn't born, he would be famous right now"!? I asked.
"Yeah I guess. Not to put it like that or anything", she said.
"So it's my fault! He could've been a worldwide millionaire. See? Chloe's right! He doesn't love me. I ruin everything"!! I said laying my head down on the table. Why did I ruin this for him.
"Honey it's not like that at all. He loves you! He would pick you over fame any day", she said. I didn't believe her.
"Really?? That's why he said the only person's happiness he cared about was Chloe's, right"? I said.
"Come one. You know he would never say that", she replied. She just doesn't understand.
"Yeah he did! I heard him with my own two ears", I rolled my eyes. I wish I could just live with Stephanie. I would be so much happier. She frowned.
" I'm so sorry", she said.
"It's okay I guess", I said with a frown. I was just sick of my dad AND Chloe. I hated both of them.
"Things will get better trust me", she said standing up. I shrugged.
"We're home", Dad said walking in about 15 minutes later. He had a sign of glumness to his voice.
"How was she Darcy"? Dad asked her while walking into the living room with us. Stephanie looked nervous.
"Oh. Um she was good", Stephanie said blushing. She liked him and I was sure of it. He smiled and nodded.
"Good! Thanks for watching her", he said sitting on the couch. Her heart was beating so loud, I could hear it.
"Your welcome. Anytime. Bye Darcy, bye Harry", she said quickly making her way to the entry way and then leaving. Chloe walked in from the entry way and sat on the couch next to him. He looked nervous at her.
"Darcy", he started saying. Chloe made the hugest grin on her face.
"How would you like to have a new brother or sister"?
