Finding Myself.
life's just getting crazier!
The rumbling of a quiet engine shattered the serenity and silence of my situation. I looked up the street, and watched a massive, black land rover roll down the street. I didn’t expect to see something so big, because of the gentle rumble its engine gave off.
The car pulled up right in front of me. When the car had full stopped, and the engine flicked off, 4 gorgeous boys jumped out.
“You’re such a loser!” one of them laughed. His laugh was husky and bubbly. It made me shiver with excitement, for some unknown reason. He had dark, curly hair, and it was sexy.
“I am not!” another one of them said. He had extremely short hair. It looked like it had only been shaved a month or go or so.
The other two laughed. The taller one had a sweet laugh. He had his hair waxed up into a short quiff and his smile was beautiful. His teeth were perfectly straight. The other, a little shorter, had pitch black hair, with a hint of blonde sitting at the top of his quiff.
As they walked towards the driveway, they noticed. Yes, I sat on the driveway, my knees pulled up to my chin, looking like a total goof, staring at a field.
“Um, hello..” The curly-haired, husky voiced guy said.
“Uh, hi.” I said, and paused for a second. I realised that I probably looked like an idiot sitting on the ground, staring up at them, so I stood. I stumbled. Obviously my body wanted to remain on the ground. I caught my balance quickly though, dusted down my jeans, pushed the hair that had come loose in my unbalanced ordeal behind my ear, and finally looked back at them.
“Are you alright, love? You seem a bit... uh, shaky.” The black-haired one said. His voice was sweet, but mysterious.
“um, yes. I’m perfectly fine thank you very much.” I tried to say it, without sounding rude.
They looked at each other.
“Well, if you don’t mind me asking, why are you sitting on my friend’s driveway?” The curly-haired one perked up.
“Oh, well… um. I don’t really know to be honest. I was bought here by a man I don’t really know, than was bought into this house by a lady I do not know at all. Then introduced to a boy who is supposedly my brother, and I know I’m probably not making ANY sense at the moment, but I rea-“
I was cut off by the curly-haired one. I took it that he was the talkative one of the group.
He let out a long “oh”.The other boys looked at him, confused.
“Guys, I’m pretty sure this is Destiny.” He said. His voice had a hint of uncertainty in it. He looked at me, as if to ask “right?”
“Right.” I said automatically. He smiled.
The other three chorused another long “oh.”
“Well, in that case Destiny, let me introduced myself.” The curly-haired boy said. For some odd reason, I found myself wanting to know his name.
“I’m Harry.” He smiled. “This is Zayn.” He pointed to the one with the jet-black hair, and he smiled a sweet smile. “That’s Louis.” He gestured towards the one with the brown quiff. “Hello!” Louis smiled. “And that’s Liam.” He pointed to the one with the recently shaved head. Liam smiled and waved a single wave.
“I’m Destiny.” I said. Why did I say that? Obviously they know.
“Yes, I think we’ve established that.” Louis said cheekily. Liam hit him in the chest. “Don’t be rude!”
He gave Louis a stern look. Louis laughed.
At that moment, Niall appeared at the bottom of the driveway.
“I thought I heard you four!” He laughed. “Obviously, you’ve met my sister, Destiny.” He smiled at me. “I’ve already told them about you.” He laughed again.
To be honest, I thought myself quite lucky. Instead of being a complete jerk, he was actually quite nice. He seemed laid back and friendly. I never thought I’d actually have a brother, but I often thought about wanting one, and Niall wasn’t what I was expecting. My old friends, in my old town had older brothers and they told me all sorts of stories about how annoying and horrible their brothers were. But not Niall. He was kind. Even though I had only known him for a while, I counted myself lucky to have one of the few brothers that were genuine.
“You coming or what?” Niall’s voice interrupted my thoughts.
“Oh sorry. Yeah.” I said.
The boys were halfway up the driveway now, and I hadn’t even noticed. My day-dreaming caught me out, yet again.
Inside, we all sat down at the table in the kitchen. It was crowded, but we all seemed to fit.
“So Destiny… Are you excited to start school… tomorrow?” Clara said, after the boys quieted down.
What?! School?! Clara did NOT mention anything about going to school and as soon as tomorrow? I don’t think so.
“Yeah.” I heard myself say. What the hell did I just say?! I cursed myself inside for not being able to stick up for myself.
“Awesome! Sorry I didn’t tell you about this earlier, but… Going to school is an essential part of teenage life and I wouldn’t want you to miss out on your education. We’ve entered you in the local high school and I’ve arranged for you to start tomorrow.” Clara smiled at me gently. I knew she meant well, but I was definitely not ready to go to school yet, but I guess I had to get over that, because it looked like I was going to have to go to school.
“Do you know where it is?” Niall asked me.
Yes. I’ve been in this town for maybe an hour, and I’ve already figured out where the school is. Have some common sense brother. “No, sorry.”
“I’ll take her! I’ve got my land rover.” Harry perked up.
“Wow Harry. That’s very kind of you.” Clara smiled at him. He smiled back like he’d achieved something.
The other 4 boys looked at him. He looked back at each other them, as if to innocently say “what?”
