Waiting out the front of the mall for Clara, I checked my phone.
I had one new message. It was from Clara.
Clara: Can’t come and get you, something’s come up. Harry agreed to pick you up though, he’ll be there in 10 (:
Oh no. Not only was I pissed at Harry, but now I had to suffer a long car ride home with him. I decided to text Clara back.
Destiny: Clara, I’d really rather just walk home. It’s a nice day and I need some fresh air. Let Harry know for me? x
I opened Google maps on my phone and typed in my address. I long yellow line popped up, and lead me to my house.
I started walking, glancing down at my phone occasionally to check if I was still on course.
“Hey Destiny!” I heard a cheerful voice behind me.
I turned awkwardly to see Jake running up to me.
For some reason, my heart skipped a beat when he reached me.
“Where are you walking to?” He asked with a smile.
“Home.” I said back, kind of blushing.
“How did you find me?” I heard myself ask. I immediately went red at my unexpected question.
He laughed. “I saw you waiting at the mall entrance. Thought I’d come say hi.” He smiled at me.
“Oh.” I giggled.
We walked awkwardly for a bit, until Jake pepped up. “It’s really hot.”
I thought about what he said for a moment, than agreed. “It is isn’t it?”
Then, before I could think about what I was saying, I spoke. “I have a pool.”
Jake smiled at me. “Really?”
I nodded sheepishly.
“We should go for a swim!” He laughed.
“Ok.” I agreed robotically.
