Finding Myself.
someone new.
Arriving at the mall, I thanked Clara for dropping me off and get out of the car, pulling out my phone. I decided to text Addison, and ask where we were going to meet up. A few seconds later, my phone buzzed.
Addison: I’m up at the food court c:
I smiled and locked my iPhone 5.
Walking up the ramp, I realised I’d never been to the mall before. I had no idea where the food court was! I stopped at the top of the ramp, looking around for any sign that pointed to the food court. There was none.
“Looking for something?” I heard a voice come from behind me.
I turned around to see a tall kind of guy, short brown hair flicking to the side, medium build.
“Uh…” I stuttered. “The food court.”
The boy smiled at me. His teeth were a nice shade of white, all in line, perfectly straight. “This is a big mall. I’ll show you.”
I looked down at what I was wearing. I was glad I’d chosen what I did, because it was a cute outfit, to go with a cute boy.
“Sure.” I smiled.
Well, Harry doesn’t even like me, he has a girlfriend. And she is way prettier than me. So who gives if I’m at the mall with a cute boy?
“I uh, like you’re shoes.”
I looked down at my white ankle converse. They were new, so they were clean.
“Thanks!” I smiled at him.
“What’s your name?” He asked.
“Destiny.” I smiled at him, again. I couldn’t help myself, I kept smiling at him. He made me feel warm inside.
What are you doing? You just met this guy!
I ignored my brain disagreeing with my eyes. This guy was so cute!
“I’m Jake.” He smiled at me back, kind of laughing cutely.
We finally arrived at the food court.
“Well, here you are!” He said, gesturing towards the food court.
Just before I could thank him, Addison ran up.
“Ohh hey!” She gushed, then hugged me.
“Hiii!” I said, hugging her back.
“Oh, hey Jake!” She smiled at him.
“Hey Addison, what’s up?” He replied.
I looked from Jake to Addison, confused. I guess Addison kind of picked it up.
“Oh, Jake goes to our school, he’s even in our grade!” She smiled at Jake knowingly.
He looked at me. “You go to Fulton? Since when?” He asked.
“I’m new.” Is all I said.
“Well, I gotta go, but I’ll see you around. Hopefully at school on Monday!” He looked at me.
“Bye.” I smiled sheepishly.
When Jake was out of sight, Addison looked at me and gushed, “Oh my god, He so likes you!”
“No way, we just met.” I said, rolling my eyes at her.
“So?” She giggled.
I laughed and linked my arm in hers. “Where’s my latte?”
She giggled again, and turned so I could see behind her. The other girls were sitting at the table; steaming latte’s sitting on the table in front of them. They all smiled and waved their arms in the air at me. I smiled and waved crazily back at them. Then, laughing, Addison and I walked over to them.
“C’mon, let’s go window shopping already!” Amberley squealed.
The mall was small, so we went outside and looked at the cute shops that lined the main street. The shops were really cute, and the clothes were vintage and chic.
Amberley bought a cute little summer’s dress from a store called ‘Summer Days’.
As we walked down the street, all our hands both on our warm latte’s, chatting and giggling. Then, Addison decided to bring the Boy Troubles up.
“So, What’s going on in your love life, miss?” She looked at me, and so did all the girls.
We slowly strolled passed a store called ‘Vintage’.
“Well, Harry and I have been getting on really well lately, and I mean REALLY well.” I gave them a look to let them know things were getting heated. “We shared ice-cream on the couch, and he chased me around the kitchen island, and I realised I liked him, and we even kissed!”
The girls gasped.
“He only did it to piss Niall off.” I added.
“Sure!” Carmen said sarcastically, winking at me and sipping her latte.
I glared at her.
“And…?” Alexis asked.
“Well, today I went into the kitchen, and he was holding hands with a girl at the table! They were giggling and looking at each other adoringly.” I looked at the ground.
“Aww Dest.” Addison sighed.
“We’re here for you!” Alexis smiled warmly, and Carmen nodded her head in agreement.
“Thank you!” I smiled at spied my latte.
“Yeah, but anyway girls. Jake is so into her! They walked to the food court together!” Addison giggled.
“he was just showing me to the food court.” I said, but my voice was drowned out by the girls squealing and giggling.
“He’s single!” Carmen added.
I couldn’t help giggling with them.
Maybe if Jake was into me, I couldn’t help my feelings for Harry.
“And Harry has a girlfriend, so you should go for it!” Alexis said, like she read my mind.
Maybe Alexis is right… I mean, he is cute… and single.
