The A-Listers
Chapter 12
Scarlett's POV:
I woke up to crying. Someone was crying. I wondered if it was Reagan. Probably.
I got out of bed and pulled on my slippers. Groggily rubbing my eyes, I shuffled out to the living room. Piper was sitting on the sofa, tears streaming down her face, while Reagan and Lucy were comforting her.
“Am I seeing this right?” I asked out loud. It was morning and I had no idea what was coming out of my mouth.
They all turned. Reagan gave me a look before rubbing Piper on the arm.
Lucy shrugged.
“Do you want to know?” she asked.
“Um…it’s early…but sure,” I said, sitting down on one of the love seats.
“I went to the boys apartment with Skylar last night,” moaned Piper, rubbing her temples. “I got drunk with Louis…and I ended up doing it with him.”
“What?” I screamed, nearly jumping out of my seat. “You did what?”
“I had sex, Scar. I had sex with Louis,” said Piper wearily.
“What happened to Skylar?” I asked. “Did she make it back?” I turned around, ready to rush to Sky’s room.
“Yeah, she made it back,” called Lucy. “I checked on her.”
I flung around to face her.
“She could have been raped for all you know!” I shouted. “By the entire One Direction minus Louis because he was too busy screwing our precious Piper!”
Piper choked back tears, and Reagan shot me a dirty look.
“C’mon, that’s not fair, Scar,” cooed Lucy, getting up and putting her hand on my shoulder.
I shook her off.
“She’s supposed to make sure we don’t get into trouble!” I said, pointing an accusing finger at Piper, who cried even harder. “What if Sky’s pregnant with who know’s baby? We would all be responsible! She’s only eighteen!”
“Scar? What is this really about?” asked Reagan, narrowing her eyes at me. “You’re not upset about Skylar, are you?”
I stopped and stared at Reagan. What was she getting at?
“Are you upset because things are changing?” asked Lucy quietly.
I went over and sat down next to Piper.
“I don’t know. I just don’t want this to tear us apart,” I said wearily. “I’ve been worrying…all last night I was thinking…this might just pull the A-Listers apart.” I looked at them all, my eyes wide. “We can’t let these boys distract us, girls. We need to stick together.”
“And you are definitely helping by shouting at Piper,” said Reagan snottily.
“Oh, come on,” I said, though I couldn’t help but smile. “I am worried about Sky. Did you see her leave?” I asked Piper.
Piper shrugged.
“I fell asleep…afterwards…” trailed Piper sadly.
I rubbed her shoulder.
“It’s okay Pips. Everything will be okay,” I said reassuringly. “I’m going to check on Skylar.”
I went over to Skylar’s room and knocked on the door.
“Sky?” I called. “You up?”
Sky opened her door, her eyes bright.
“Guess what?” she asked excitedly.
“Um…what?” I asked. After Piper’s ultimatum, I wasn’t really sure I wanted to know.
“Niall kissed me!” she exclaimed. She hugged me around the middle. “I really like him!”
“Uh…that’s great…uh, Sky? We have something to tell you…” I said.
She pulled away.
“What?” she asked, her face serious.
“Come over to the living room. Piper will explain,” I said pulling her by the arm over to the living room.
“What? Why is Piper crying? Did someone die?” she asked. “Oh my God! Piper never cries! Was it Erick? Did he die?” She covered her mouth in shock.
Reagan snorted.
“No, Sky. Piper, tell her,” she said.
“I got drunk with Louis and we…we did it,” whispered Piper, looking up at the ceiling.
Skylar gasped and ran over and hugged Piper.
“Omigod! I should have never left you alone!” she said, squeezing Piper hard. “This is all my fault!” She pulled away and looked deep into Piper’s eyes. “But guess what?”
“What?” asked Piper warily.
“Niall kissed me!” she said excitedly.
“Nothing more than kissing…right?” asked Reagan. I might be more protective over her than Reagan, but she was her sister after all. She still had that sisterly instinct.
“Yup. Just a kiss. On the cheek. He told me I was lovely!” giggled Skylar.
“That’s great, Sky…” choked Piper. She looked like she was going to start sobbing again.
“Oh…I mean…sorry,” winced Skylar.
“It’s alright,” I said, patting her on the shoulder. “You didn’t mean it.”
“Piper…what’s going to happen now? Are we still going to go through with the plan?” asked Lucy. “I mean, we won’t if you don’t want us to…”
“No,” said Piper sternly. “We’re going to go through with the plan.”
“So, we’re going to pretend to be in love with these guys and everything?” asked Reagan. She rolled her eyes. “At least in my case.”
“Yes, but make it as believable as possible. We don’t want them catching on. Just…just pretend that you’re really into them and that you don’t care what Erick is going to say,” Piper said. “Never let them in on the plan. Got it?”
“Got it,” we said in unison.
Piper laid back on the sofa.
“God, my head hurts,” she moaned. “How could I have been so stupid?”
She waved for us to leave her alone, so we got up and decided to get ready for the day. It was almost eleven.
I grabbed some yogurt and a banana with a small cup of coffee before going to my bathroom and showering. Five bedrooms, five showers. Hell yeah! I loved the fact that I no longer had to wait in line to take a shower like we did on the X-Factor. No more strange smells, no more weird hairs in the drain, and it was cleaned daily by the housecleaning service.
After showering, I pulled on a grey miniskirt and loose-fitting black tank over a solid white one and my black ankle boots. I brushed on some mascara and drew on some eyeliner before deciding I was decent enough to go out.
Erick hadn’t called or texted us yet to fill us in on today’s plans, so I decided I’d go and pick up some groceries. I was just walking out when there was a knock on the door. I opened it quick to find Liam waiting outside.
“Hey,” he said shyly. “Is Reagan home?”
