Challenge
Chapter One
The soft rain thudded against the small house softly.
Onyx loved this weather. It gave her insperation to do the things she loved the most; Draw.
She took out her notepad and a pencil, and began sketching whatever came to mind.
She wasn't really all that focused on the drawing until her hand began to do a few long strokes.
She looked down to see it was her mother.
Onyx almost broke down right then. It was her favorite picture of her mother. The one when they went to California one year, and Onyx had snapped a quick picture of her smiling out at the beach.

"Beautiful, isn't mom?" Onyx asked, staring at the light blue waves crashing against the sand.
Her mother noddes and smiled, "So breathtaking!"
Onyx took out the camera in her bag, and snapped the picture of her mother staring at the water. Smiling with dreamy eyes.
A few of her golden strands were blown back, and luckily she got the side with her dimple.

Onyx smiled at the memory that seemes so far away.
She continued shading to create volume to her mother's cheekbones, and adding a few small line to creat the long eyelashes she had.

"You know I love you, right?" Onyx's mother spoke up. Onyx was a bit confused by her sudden outburst.
"Of course"
Her mother nodded, her eyes looking down,"Darling, there is something you need to know."
Onyx was then tense. Her mothee was never the serious type, but now she was stiff.
Onux didn't reply, just nodded.
"Darling, I was diagnosed with breast cancer two weeks ago"

That was one of the worst memories she had of her mother. Onyx quit drawing her mother, adraid of what she would remwmber bext.
She didn't even want to think of her father. How he chose the horrible decision to end his own life.
Onyx was on the verge of tears.
No, Onyx, don't cry. Crying is for the weak.
She told herself that the say her mother died. She felt that she now had to be strong, and never five up. Especially after her father's descicion.
"Onyx?" There was a light knock on the door.
Onyx quickly hid her drawing under her small bed. She went over to the door, and opened it to see her Aunt Misty standing there.
"Yes?" She asked, her tone cold.
She soon felt quilty being so rude to the woman who happily took her in.
"I just wanted to inform you to go to bed early tonight. Your cousin will help you tomorrow at the school"
Onyx nodded.
"Yes. Thanks Aunt Misty" Her aunt nodded, and gave her a quick kiss on the cheek.
Onyx walked to the bathroom, taking a quick shower, and dressing in jogging pants and a long T-Shirt.
She quickly brushed her teeth, and went back into her room, clumbing in her small bed.

"It's time for me to go, Onyx. I love you"
Onyx read the text on her small, cheap phone.
What did her father mean?
She quickly excused herself from class saying she needed to use the restroom.
She left the school property and quickly ran home, afraid of what he meant.
Once inside, she noticed some of the vases, and plates shattered on the floor. The Television was bashed in, and no lights were on.
She walked into all the bedroom, before stopping infront of her own.
"Daddy?" She called out, nervously.
Her hand reached the doorknob, and she opened slowly.
The first thing she noticed was a chair, followes by her father's limo body, a rope, and finally a hook she never knew she had on her cieling.
It took her atleast ten seconds befire she realized what he'd done.
"Daddy!" Onyx screamed, dropping to her knees, trying her best not to cry.
"Why would you leave me, daddy?"
