~3 weeks later~

"Hey, I'm just driving home from school, I still have to pack, but I'll come over after and then we can call a car to the airport?" Harry says as he answers the phone.

"Harry! Why did you wait until now to pack?"

"I don't know, it'll only take like 20 minutes, so I'll call you when I'm on my way over"

"Okay, oh and Ethan left his wallet here last night when everyone was over, so I'm just going to go drop it off at his house otherwise he won't have it until we get back"

"Just wait until I get there and we'll go together."

"Harry, I'll just go while you're packing. We won't have time when you get here. It's fine, I know his mom so I'll just leave it with her. I'm sure he won't even be home. Don't worry" I assure him and he sighs on the phone.

"Just drop it off than come straight home"

"Okay, I'll see you in a bit"

"Yeah, bye"

"Harry.." I say, noticing the apprehension in his tone. "I'm excited for the next two weeks" I smile and I hear him let out a sigh.

"Me too... I love you Aubrey"

"I love you Harry" I say before hanging up.

Well if you hadn't noticed, I obviously decided to accompany Harry on his trip to England for Christmas break. When I told him he was really excited, and so was I. I'm so nervous but I can't wait. It'll be exciting to meet his friends and family, and see where he's from. We're catching a red eye flight tonight, and I'm anxious for this adventure to begin.

"Aubrey? Oh my goodness, it's been awhile! How are you sweetie?"

"I'm good, how are you?" I greet Ethan's mom when she answers the door.

"Better now! We've missed you around here, come in?"

"Oh I just came to drop off Ethan's wallet, he left it at my house last night" I say while holding out the wallet.

"Nonsense, come in and I'll make you some coffee or something, at least say hi to Jim?" She asks, she's sweet how can I turn her down? Erica and Jim, Ethan's parents, were basically parents to me when we dated. They always took care of me because they know my parents are always away.

"Alright, I'll say hi" I give in. I noticed Ethan's car isn't in the driveway, so it can't hurt.

"Jim look who I found!" Erica smiles when we walk into the house.

"Oh Aubrey Flynn! You get prettier every time I see you, how have you been?"

"Good, how are you?"

"Just fine, a little swamped at work, but what's new?" He chuckles. "So are your parents coming home for Christmas?"

"Um no I'm actually going to England" Did Ethan tell them I was dating someone new? Should I tell them? I know it will break Erica's heart, she was devastated when Ethan and I broke up. She always said I was the daughter she never had.

"Wow, exciting!" He says and I silently thank God he didn't ask anymore questions about it.

"Yeah, I can't wait!"

"Hunny, come join me in the kitchen, the coffees ready!" I hear Erica and oblige.

"So I'm glad you came over, I actually wanted to talk to you" uh oh. I nod my head and take a sip of the coffee even though it's still scalding hot. Mmm. She put my favorite caramel creamer in it. I love how she remembers how much I love it.

"I just wanted to ask you if you noticed how Ethan has changed? I know he's been starting to hang out with his old friends again"

"I have actually.. It's kind of weird" I laugh.

"That's what I was going to say! I know after Jim got angry with him when the UCLA scout called, his attitude changed. You know the ither day, he actually told me he loved me!" She laughs.

"Yeah I heard about that. Gosh, how has he been taking that? Do you remember when I would come over to dinner and that's all they would talk about!?" I laugh and she joins again.

"Yes! That's all he ever thought about, other than you of course. He was either going to work out or to Aubrey's house... And I don't know, he seems to be taking it pretty well. He says he's still going to go there for classes, thankfully. Are you still thinking about Stanford?"

"Yeah, I sent in my application and now I'm just waiting!"

"Oh you'll get in!" She smiles. "I still wonder how Ethan snatched such a bright young woman. You have a good head on your shoulders Aubrey"

"Thanks Erica.. Well thank you for the coffee, but my boy-.. I should get going" I stutter.

"Aubrey, bless you for trying to keep it from me, but Ethan told me about your new boyfriend. I'm happy for you! And I think Ethan is too. You don't have to hide it from me, I still love you" she laughs. "To be honest, you deserve better than my son!" She jokes, but deep down I feel she knows it's true. Wait, she said Ethan is happy for me too?

"I'm sorry, I just.."

"Don't be, we are very happy for you. And I see that you're happy so that's all that matters. And Ethan seems to be glad you two are talking again, I know I am" she smiles. I reciprocate the grin and sip on my drink that had started to cool down.

"Well, I have to catch a flight in a few hours, so I should get going..."

"I won't keep you waiting, thanks for stopping by sweetie, we've missed you around here. Call me sometime and we can go shopping or something" she offers and I hug her.

"Thanks for the coffee, bye Erica!"

"Have fun in England!"

"England?" I hear as she walks me to the foyer. Ethan's home.

"I'll let you two talk" Erica smiles before turning around and heading back to the kitchen.

"Hey Ethan, you just left your wallet at my house so I gave it to your mom" I say nervously.

"Oh, I was going to come over and get it, but you didn't answer your phone" he says and I look to my phone to see the call and texts.

"Sorry, I'm leaving soon so I thought I would just drop it off"

"Why are you going to England? Aren't your parents coming home for Christmas?"

"No they couldn't make it so-"

"He's taking you?"

"Yeah." I say and he stands there in defeat. Is he really jealous?

"Oh well um have fun" he says as I place my hand in the doorknob.

"Thanks" Why is this so awkward? I open the door and begin to walk out before I hear my name again. Why does he always wait until I'm walking away before he says something?

"Wait Aubrey" he desperately says and I turn around and stare at him for a minute before he says anything.

"Have a nice Christmas" I have a feeling he wanted to say something more by the way he's rubbing the back of his neck. But I don't really want to hear what that may be.

"You too, Ethan" I smile and finally get in my car. That was a lot harder than it had to be, I just wanted to drop off his damn wallet!

"Harry?" I say when I see him sitting on my front step.

"What took so long? Didn't you leave after I called you?" He stands up and asks me harshly.

"Calm down, I was talking to his mother"

"Calm down?" He says running his hands through his hair. "I thought you and him were.." He chokes up.

"Harry, no! I wouldn't! You know that. I had coffee with his mother. We became very close so we were just catching up" I assure him while taking his face in my hands, running my thumb over his cheek.

"I just don't trust him" He sighs.

"I know, but you trust me, and I only said bye to him. He came in when I left" I say and his breath starts to even out. I hate that this bothers him so much.

"Are you finished packing? The car will be here any minute" he says in attempt to change the subject.

"Yeah my bags are just upstairs"

"I'll grab them"

"Harry don't be angry, this is supposed to be fun, and you're killing my vibe" I joke "we're going to have a great time"

"I know.."

"Half way around the world from Ethan..." I smile.

"Shit I can't wait to get there!" He chuckles. "I'm sorry I just.. I don't like him, I'm trying, I really am"

"And I'm thankful for that, babe. But we don't have to worry about him for two weeks"

"I'm sorry I'm ruining this already, this is supposed to be our time together"

"You didn't ruin it, but I will have to punish you later" I tease.

"That's a shame" he winks and takes my bags out front just as the car rolls up.
