"Aubrey! Aubrey are you awake?!" I heard someone yelling.

"What?" I shot up from my bed and looked around confused. Harry was sleeping next to me, so who was calling my name?

"Aubrey!"

"Oh my god!" I said quietly before I hopped out of bed and ran downstairs. "Hi mom! Hi dad!" I said as I jumped up and hugged them.

"Hey sweetie! We've missed you!" My mom said before suffocating me with her embrace.

"What are you guys doing here? I thought you weren't coming home until Friday?"

"We thought we'd surprise you!" My dad said excitedly.

I was so glad to see them, but I had forgot about Harry sleeping upstairs. He had slept over after the party at Ryan's last night. If they saw him, they would probably kill me. They know we're dating, but you know how parents are, overprotective and scared I'm gonna do something stupid like getting pregnant!

"I'm glad you guys are home! But I really need to shower" I said before I hugged them again and ran upstairs thinking about a way to get Harry out of here.

"Harry" I whispered as I shook him awake. "Babe, you have to wake up!"

"Hey" he smiled as his eyes slowly started to open.

"My parents are here!"

"What?" He quickly sat up in the bed and his eyes shot open. "I thought they weren't coming until Friday?"

"Me too! But they wanted to surprise me.. And they did!" I laughed.

"What should I do? If I leave they'll see me!"

"It's fine, just stay in here and I'll take them out to breakfast or something."

"Alright.. Shit that was close" he said as he stood up and pulled his pants on.

"It's all good! Alright I'm gonna go with them, I'll text you when it's okay to leave!" I walked over and gave him a kiss. "Come over later to meet them?"

"Yeah.. I'll be here"

I got dressed and fixed my bed head before leaving Harry in my room and heading back downstairs.

"I thought you were going to shower hun?" My mom asked as I came back to where they were sitting.

"Oh, I was but I thought we could go get breakfast and catch up?" I said.

"That sounds great! I'm starving"

"So how has everything been, Aubs?" My dad asked after we sat down at the restaurant for breakfast.

"Really good" I genuinely smiled. "How's the team?"

"Good, they all say hi!"

"So when are we going to get to meet this Harry kid?" My mom added in. I've told her everything about him over the phone. My mom and I's relationship is really great. We tell each other amything, and she's like my best friend.

"Tonight, if you want!"

"Yeah, bring that kid around" my dad said with a jokingly stern tone.

"I will! I think you'll love him"

"I mean he's the quarterback of your school's football team, I already love him" my dad joked again.

"Well besides that, he's great" I smiled.

"I'm excited to meet him!" My mom said, this was the first boyfriend of mine she will ever meet and she was elated that I decided to bring him around.

"Okay really guys, please be normal!" I yelled from the door as I saw Harry pull up to the house. I saw him run his hands through his hair, so I could tell he was already nervous.

"Hey Aubs" Harry greeted me when I opened the door. He gave me a kiss on the cheek and hugged me before we walked in to the living room where my parents were.

"Guys, this is Harry!"

"Hello" Harry waved before he shook both of their hands. I think they thought it was funny at how proper and polite he was.

"Hi Harry, I'm Claire" my mom said with a big smile.

"I'm Austin" my dad said as he gave him a firm handshake. When they weren't looking my mom mouthed
"he's cute" and gave me a thumbs up which caused me to giggle.

"I know who you are, sir" he chuckled.

"You can call me Austin!" He said as he laughed at Harry calling him 'sir.'

"So is Harry sleeping over again tonight?" My mom nonchalantly asked as we were making dinner in the kitchen. My dad and Harry were in the living room watching football or something. Hopefully my dad isn't scaring him too much!

"What?" I looked at her surprised.

"I know he slept here" she smiled. "I came up to your room when we got home to say hi and he was up there!"

"We just fell asleep!" My cheeks turned red.

"Aubrey I'm not stupid!" She laughed. "You really like him don't you?"

I hopped up on the stool at the island counter. "I really do-"

"Are you guys being safe?" She wiggled her eyebrows up and down making us both laugh.

"Yes mom!" I buried my face in my hands with embarrassment.

"I'm just making sure!"

I was relieved at how chill she was with that. See most moms would probably punish their kid if they saw that, but not my mom. She and my dad were high school sweethearts, so they got married pretty young and had me shortly after. She's pretty young for a mother of an eighteen year old, so she likes a lot of things that I do, and we just understand each other. She's a great mother, but she's also a great friend.

"You didn't tell dad, did you?"

"Hell no! Harry would be dead by now if I did. So when we're here, no more sleep overs!" She pretended to scold me.

"Got it. Thanks mom"

"I'm just glad that you're happy Aubs, I know I never saw you and Ethan together, but I know he didn't make you as happy as Harry does... And that kid is such a cutie!"

"He's mine!" I joked. "So what do you think they're talking about in there anyway?"

"I have no idea, but I have a feeling it's something about football" She joked as she tossed the salad.
"Speaking of, you should go get them because dinner's almost ready"

I hopped off the stool and walked through the hall to the living room. I stopped before they saw me so I could listen in on their conversation... I'm nosy, I know!

"So how's the team looking this year? You think you can take them to state again?" My dad asked.

"Yeah, we're actually doing pretty well, won our first few games. I think we have a good chance" Harry said confidently. I think he had loosened a bit and warmed up to my parents.

"That's good" My dad replied before they were silent. Just when I was about to tell then dinner was ready, my dad started talking again. I caught myself before they saw me so I could hear what he had to say.

"Look, I'm just going to say it. I know what Ethan did to Aubrey and if I could beat that kid's ass, I would. Now if any of that happens with you, we're going to have a problem."

"Sir... Austin, I will never hurt your daughter. She means too much to me."

"And I believe you... Aubrey has told me from the beginning how great you are, but I just wanted to make sure. She's my little girl, and I hated when she would call her mom late at night crying because of what Ethan did to her, he's a bastard."

"I couldn't agree more... And I know, she was in pretty rough shape when that happened, but I promise it will never happen again"

"Thanks for making her happy again, Harry. I know I don't see her often, but it's nice that when I do, she has a smile on her face"

"She makes me just as happy" Harry said as he fiddled with the necklace around his neck.

I stood there against the wall, smiling to myself. It was amazing to see my dad and Harry get along, let alone have a serious conversation. The fact that my dad was so protective and Harry's response made my heart flutter.

"Dinners ready" I said after they were silent for a few moments, I didn't want to make it obvious I was eavesdropping.

"Great, I'm starving!" My dad stood up from the chair and walked in front of me to get to the kitchen.

"What was that for?" Harry was confused after I pressed a quick kiss to his lips.

"Just because.." I smiled. "So how did that go? Did my dad scare you away yet?" I said as I took his hand, smiling to myself because I had heard the conversation already.

"Not yet!" He laughed
