Chapter 25: The lawsuit
Veronica's Pov: I get a Lawyer and tell them what happened. The lawyer contacted Samantha and she got a Lawyer and today is the day of our trial which i'm totally gonna win. I dragged Harry along and Perrie said she'd be there.When we get there i see Samantha she's talking to Kelsey. I also see Laura there with her parents and i see Michelle with them too. Michelle looks badly beat up she deserves it. Liam,Zayn,Louis Niall and Eleanor walk in and sit down by Kelsey,Laura and Michelle. A few minutes later Harry and Perrie walk in. Perrie waves to me and i wave back.I take my seat and the judge walks in after some boring talking they call me up to the stand and i explain my side of the story. ''I was told that the interview would not be taped at all'' I explain. ''Play the tape i bet it's in there when i asked''. They put the tape in and sure enough that was in there. ''And what did Samantha Valentine do after the interview?'' The prosecutor asks. ''They have it to the news and they played it on t.v. as an exclusive interview''. I answer. ''Now the law is its only illegal if there's sound and this video has sound, so therefor,illegal''. The prosecutor says. He brings Samantha up. ''Is this the lady who conducted the interview?'' he asks. I was thinking well cant you see its the lady on the tape? ''Yeah,that's her'' i respond.I look Samantha in the eye she starts crying.What a baby. After a few more questions and reports i could leave the stand.They call Samantha up. Everybody knows she's guilty, even she knows there nothing more she can do.''Mrs.Valentine''. The prosecutor says.''Did you or did you not hide secret cameras in a room and film an interview with Mrs.Perez over there and send it to the news without Ms.Perez's Knowledge?'' Samantha looks around. ''Did you or did you not''. He asks again. She bursts out crying again. ''Yes,Yes i did!!'' She screamed. The trial went pretty quickly there was no defense.Samantha admitted it and we have the tape as proof. She better be sent to jail i don't know how long she could get but whatever it is she deserves every second of it,making me look like a bitch and all that. The jurt leaves to come up with a sentencing and i go and talk to Perrie. ''Perrie,Hey''. ''Veronica! you did so good,Samantha is so guilty your gonna win this trial i already know that''. She admitted.''Wow,i cant believe it why would she be so mean?'' ''I don't know but isn't Eleanor gonna be mad at you for being on my side?'' ''It's okay she'll get it over it''. I see Eleanor loking at Perrie and I talking she looks so mad but that's the best part. Harry is there too,i'm making sure he's keeping his distance from Laura all though Laura does keep looking at Harry.The rest of the boys are talking among themselves.
Kelsey's Pov: I am so nervous. This is all my fault! If i wasn't so stuck on revenge my sister wouldn't be here being arrested because of some idea i came up with.I feel so guilty,i'm gonna ruin her life.The jury comes out and gives the judge there final result.To think,my sisters life is in their hands.The judge reads the paper.''Samantha Valentine,stand up''. the judge said. Samantha stood.My palms are sweating and my heart is pounding.''The jury finds you Samantha Valentine,guilty of filming without consent and sentenced to two years in prison with a possibility of Parole''. She cries. I lose it and start screaming,saying it was my fault.Some guards dragged me out so i wouldn't disturb the courtroom.I sit outside until everyone comes out Laura picks me up off the ground what a great friend she is. Michelle,Niall,Liam,Zayn,Louis and Eleanor are there around me. Louis looks around. ''Where's Perrie?'' He asks.''Perrie?'' Shes with Veronica Eleanor answers.I'll go and find her''.Zayn says. He walks inside the building.The doors open up and my sister comes out. There's a bunch of cops and news reporters around her she was in handcuffs crying. Then they shoved her in a cop car and the reporters took lots of pictures. I started to cry again,too.
Laura's Pov: Seeing Kelsey so sad is breaking my heart.We started getting really close then we come up with a stupid plan and get her sister arrested. I feel responsible for her arrest too. I feel like i need to do something for Kelsey. ''Kelsey,its okay your gonna be okay''. ''Oh,Laura i have something i need to tell you''.She says. ''What is it?'' I wait as Kelsey stops crying and wipes her tears away. ''When i first started coming over Harry knocked on the door.But i told him you were mad at him so we could spend time together and wont ditch me for Harry,Laura i am so sorry''. i admit. ''Wait,he-he came? looking for me? I nod. ''And you told him i was mad?'' I nod. ''So,he still likes me? ''I don't know he wanted to talk,that's all i know''. I can't believe the news. Kelsey has been keeping this from me the whole time? I thought Harry was ignoring me and he thought i was mad at him. I walk back in the court room and look in. I can't do anything,i realize.Harry is with Veronica.Well i guess maybe i could always just go and talk to him.I walk through the room and stand a few feet behind him.What am i gonna say? He turns around and walks to me. ''You didn't have anything to do with this,did you?'' He asked. ''Me? What?'' I was confused,that's not what i expected him to say. ''Kelsey and i planned it out,i didn't know it was illegal until it was too late '' I say ''How could you?'' he asked ''What?'' ''Why would you want to ruin Veronica like that? what did she do to you?'' ''Well, uhh nothing really i guess''. ''Your changing,Laura and i'm not sure i like the new you''. He walks away. I stand their speechless,did he really just say that to me?. I think about what he says and i realized that maybe i am changing i didn't even realize it. ''There you are''. I hear someone say and i turn around and see Michelle coming towards me. I started to see how i'm changing. I started ditching Michelle for Kelsey,for one.And yet here's Michelle,still at my side. ''Come on,lets go i don't like it here''. She says.She grabs my arms and drags me towards the door.We get in Michelle's car.''So where do you want to go?'' She asks. ''We can't just leave Kelsey.'' I say ''why not? Her family can take care of her''. ''It just seems mean to leave''. ''She may want to be alone''. ''I don't know''. ''So...?'' ''So what?''. ''Where do you want to go?'' ''I don't care just away from here.Michelle drives to her house and we go up to her room. ''Don't feel guilty''. she says ''Why? if we never came up with that stupid plan then Samantha wouldn't be in jail''. ''Do you think i'm changing? i ask. ''What do you mean?'' ''Like acting differently than i normally do?'' ''I don't know you haven't been around enough to say''. ''I'm sorry,Michelle just i don't know i felt like maybe Kelsey and i could be friends''. ''Then what about me? you were just gonna leave me out?'' ''I felt bad''. ''Oh,so you thought about me, i didn't see you doing anything about it though''. ''Michelle,stop,look were fighting we never used to fight!'' ''I guess it just shows that you are changing''. What is happening? it feels like everything is just going out of control everybody's mad at each other and i feel like it all my fault.I doubt Harry will want to be around me, i thought he didn't like Veronica but i guess he cares some.Either that or what Kelsey and i did was just that terrible.Well,it was i mean we got Samantha arrested,she was just an innocent victim in our war.
Harry's Pov: Laura talked to me today.She hasn't been acting herself since she started hanging out with Kelsey.She turned kinda mean and very vengeful.She got some innocent girl arrested i don't what happened to her but if that's how she's gonna act i don't wanna be around her.''Harry come over here'' Veronica yells. I walk over and see what she wants. ''Harry i don't know whats happening here but it seems like everyone is going insane''. ''Yeah i was thinking that too,like Laura. I don't know what happened to her but she's not the same girl i used to know''. ''What a shame''. Veronica says. ''Maybe the stress is getting to her''. Perrie suggests. ''Maybe,she has been through a lot recently''. I say. ''Well maybe we should get away from this town for good you know going somewhere without anyone knowing just you and me no one else''. ''You mean leave all the drama behind and get out of this town for good without anyone knowing?'' ''Yeah,why not?'' Should i go? What about the boys and everyone here? What about Laura? I mean i'm mad at her but that doesn't mean i never wanna see her again. What am i gonna do i mean i wanna make Veronica happy but what about everyone else?.
