Something Changed
Please don't try so hard to say goodbye
Harry's POV
Watching Audrey hug Tyler goodbye irritates me. I swear he is thinking something other than friendship, but I can't get into it. I don't want to scare Audrey away.
**************
"Ready to go?" I asked Audrey jingling the keys in my hand.
'"Yeah i'll be there in a minute." She said turning back around towards them.
"Bye guys, it was nice seeing you again." I said waving before I hopped into the car,
Audrey following behind soon after. She was one of the few girls I've met that actually do what they say they will.
"Did you have fun?"
"Oh yeah, it was great." I said sarcastically, I could tell she noticed.
"I swear I saw you hopping around all hyped up."
"That's because Violet kept punching me in the arm." I said with a smile.
"Yeah, I probably should have warned you about her--she gets really into sports." She said chuckling.
"No big deal, I can take her."I said putting up fists, pretending to get ready for a fight.
I thought it would make her laugh.
Something's going on with Audrey...like there's something she's not telling me.
"Want some music?"
"Sure, 96.3?"
Not exactly what I would've chosen but she didn't seem too happy tonight.
"Alright" I said turning the knob.
At least I like the song.
We sat as maroon 5 filled up the car.
"I don't mind spending every day
Out on your corner in the pouring rain" I began to sing softly.
I saw Audrey turn her head from the corner of my eye.
"Look for the girl with the broken smile
Ask her if she wants to stay awhile
And she will be loved" I continued.
"And she--" I swear I heard a soft voice next to me begin to sing along. I paused for a moment before singing again--" will be loved" she continued looking out the window now.
"Tap on my window, knock on my door
I want to make you feel beautiful" I sang solo.
"I know I tend to get so insecure" she sang by herself.
"It doesn't matter anymore" I sang.
"Anymore" she added before we both belted out the next lyrics.
"It's not always rainbows and butterflies
It's compromise that moves us along, yeah
My heart is full and my door's always open
You come anytime you want, yeah." We belted, my head focused on the road as hers looked out the window. Occasionally I'd catch her eyes though.
I want to see her laugh.
When it got to the next round of "she will be loved's" I decided on messing up a bit.
"She will be loved." I sang merrily as I screwed up the notes.
She looked at me and I could tell I was on the verge of it.
"She will be loved" Audrey tried to sing seriously but I broke her a little at the end.
"She" I began to sing choppy "will be loved."
She was completely hysterical now.
"You can't sing it like that!" She shouted trying to fight the tears from her eyes.
We both broke out in laughter as I tried to continue.
I noticed her eyes were still watery though so I tried to get her to smile again.
She gave me a small one.
"You okay love?" I said trying to comfort her with a small smile back.
"Yeah, no, I'm great." She said as I wiped the stray tear left on her cheek.
