Something Changed
Sorry
"Harry?"
He ignored me.
"Harry please can you just give me one minute to explain?"
He paused for a moment before turning around to face me.
Finally.
"I know I'm going to sound crazy and I apologize for that but I just really really want you to understand."
Still there was silence.
"Nothing happened. We were just trying this jump thing that didn't turn out so well and had some laughs. It was no big deal. Me and him are just friends and we were just hanging out. I know--I know it looked bad."
There is no emotion on his face.
"We were just catching up because our moms used to hang out so we used to hang out and--and noting was going on whatsoever.
For a split second I felt like he believed me but then the motionless look crept over his face again.
"Your minute is up" he said blankly staring at me before turning to walk away.
"Wait Harry. Please. You have to believe me" I whispered just loud enough for him to hear.
He just kept walking.

Harry's POV
"Are you ok? You seemed pretty pissed Friday night."
Why the hell is this boy speaking to me right now.
"Hey, you know, I just want to clear things up. Audrey was pretty upset when you left."
The image of Tyler comforting Audrey appeared in my mind.
It needs to get out.
"I don't feel like talking."
"Well we have to."
He's not going to leave me alone is he?
I motioned for him to follow me into a hall no one uses very often.
"Why were you guys together. I want the truth" I asked blunt.
"We were just catching up."
"Don't joke with me."
"Joke with you?"
"I saw the way you looked at her" I said turning around while putting my hands on my head not wanting to face him.
"Look, I don't know what you think you saw, but me and Audrey are strictly friends."
"Good."
"Good" he mirrored, sticking out his hand to shake mine and confirm we were pals again.
I didn't quite believe him though. that smile that was on his face was too real.
If he ever tried anything with her--I don't know what I'd do.

Audrey's POV
"I'm sorry." We're the first words out of his mouth.
I feel like Im about to drop the phone.
I can see Harry's eyes now. So filled with rage at Tyler one second...then hurt the next.
I want to cry knowing I caused that.
"Audrey?"
"Yes?"
"Why didn't you tell me you were going out with him?"
"I didn't think it was a big deal."
"If it wasn't that big of a deal, don't you think you would've told me?"
Silence.
Why didn't I tell him?
"Who was that little girl" I asked surprised that just came out if my mouth.
"Just a relative."
"Like a cousin or something?"
There was a pause.
"Yeah, I uh--I really need to go now" I'm taken aback at how fast this conversation is ending.
"Harry?" I asked hoping he's still on the line.
"Yeah?"
"I'm sorry too."
I heard a sigh of relief from the other end before I hung up.
