"hey, Audrey"
I turned to find tyler walking by but I couldn't say anything, I don't know why.
"We still on for tonight?"
I nodded, still unable to find my words.
"Okay, cool" he said stumbling backwards.
"What was that about" I heard a voice say behind me.
"Wha-what" I asked the curly haired boy now a few feet away, still approaching.
"Tyler." He said with curiosity in his green eyes.
"Nothing much."
"Alright" he said dropping it.
I just continued to put my books in my locker like I normally do.
"Wanna hang out later?"
"Can't."
"And why not?"
"Do I have to tell you everything now?"
"Fine." he said giving up.
I just nodded in triumph.
"Just be careful, alright?"he said whispering as he leaned his head towards mine.

"Audrey," my sister shouted "Tyler's here!"
"Coming," I shouted back on my way to get the door.
"You know, you could just come and get me, or do the unthinkable and answer the door."
"I could, but that would mean I have to get up." She replied laughing.
I turned and waved as I headed out the door.

"Ice skating."
"Yup."
I pretend smiled as I hoped out if the car. I never ice skate--ever.
"I-I don't know" I said nervous.
"What's wrong?"
"I um--I'm going to make a fool out of myself" I answered shutting my eyes as hard as possible thinking it would conceal my embarrassment.
"Don't worry, I'm not the best either. I thought it'd be fun."
"Maybe for you, you're good at everything where as I'm not good at anything."
"It's just like roller skating except its blades not wheels."
"Oh this is gonna be bad" I said convinced I would fall on my butt the second I got on the rink. And of course, my prediction came true.
"Ugh" I grunted not wanting to move.
"Come on, your embarrassing yourself" Tyler teased jokingly, finally giving me a hand up.
"Aren't you a funny guy." I said rolling my eyes and smiling.
"I'd like to think so" he said as a little boy came around flying by us with his tongue hanging out mocking me.
hopefully Tyler didn't notice.
We went around a few times and I thought I was getting better but the kid didn't seem to think so.
"Looks like someone might have a little crush on you."
"What? Who?"
"The little boy over there."
"No way, he hates me, he's been sticking his tongue out at me all night."
"When a boy teases you, that means he likes you."
"Eh, I doubt it."
"Okay maybe not all the time but the majority of the time it means that."
I wondered about this for a moment but was then interrupted by Tyler.
"Remember when we were younger and went to that Barney concert?"
"Haha what? Barely. We must have been like 3."
"Yeah, I guess so, but I remember it a little."
"Oh really? Like what?"
"Like--"
He continued to talk but I found myself focusing more on brown curly hair across the street.
That can't be who I think it is.
