I Can't Help It
Chapter 9.
I looked at myself over and over again in the mirror. This was the seventh outfit I tried on. I think this was the one. It was classy yet not too fancy. I had on a sun dress, a jean jacket, and brown ankle boots. I thought it looked like me. I smiled, grabbing my keys and phone and heading out the door.
" Going somewhere?" My mom yelled from the kitchen.
" Im going out mom."
" With?"
" Sandy!" I yelled. I heard her sigh.
" Don't be out too late, it's a school night Maria."
" I know." I shut the door behind me and walked down to my car. I brought it to life, humming to my thoughts. I was in such a great mood. I drove to Kelly's and parked outside by Harry's car. I could see him at a table through the café windows. I walked in, my eyes on him. Harry looked up, grinning as soon as he saw me.
" Maria." He stood up and greeted me with a hug.
" Hello Harry." I said. I sat down across from him. He had a white flannel button up that was unbuttoned at the top, showing two birds.
" I didn't know you had tattoos." I said.
" I have lots of them." He sighed.
" Can I see?"
he smirked.
" Maybe."
I smiled.
" Harry." The cashier yelled. Harry got up and went to grab his tray of food. He set it down, putting a plate with a bagel on it and a cup of tea next to me. He got himself a sandwich and tea.
" I ordered you the stuff you usually got, I hope it's okay." He said. I bit into my bagel.
" It's more than okay! It's cute that you remember my love of their bagels."
" Well it's usually the only thing your eating when I see you in here." He chuckled, biting his sandwich.
" I really like it here." I said looking around Kelly's.
" Me too. You always happen to be here."
he leaned back. I sipped my coffee.
" If your ever looking for me, just come here." I winked.
" That's usually what I do." He chuckled. I finished my bagel and he finished his sandwich, making light talk and laughs.
" Well, what do you want to do know?" I asked, standing up from the table. We had been talking for about three hours. He stood up too.
" C'mon." He said leading me out the door. I followed him into his car.
" Where are we going?" I asked.
" My flat." He sad. I Immediently froze up.
" Chill." He chuckled.
" It's probably the only place we could go without running into anyone we know." He added. I nodded.
" Your right. But my car is here, so you'll have to bring me back." I giggled.
" I know." He pulled out and started down the road. I was watching the road but for some reason my eyes went to Harry. I didn't realize how long I was staring at him.
" Enjoying the view babe?" He asked. My head snapped to the front, as my face turned bright red. He called me babe! He laughed.
" Im kidding." He said.
" Well I was enjoying it, thank you very much."
He glanced over at me before looking back at the road. We pulled up infront of an apartment building and walked inside.
" This is it." He said opening the door. I remembered to look at the room number. 213. We walked in to his apartment, which was actually pretty big.
" It's nice." I said, putting my stuff down on his kitchen counter. " I guess. I like it." He smiled, leaning against the counter. I walked up to him.
" Can I see your tattoos now?" I asked. The corner of his lips smirked into a smile as his hands made his way up to the buttons by his collar. He unbuttoned his shirt and pulled it off. It took everything in me to keep breathing. His tanned muscles were toned and perfect. He looked like an angel. I saw his tattoos on his chest, stomach, and arms.
" What's the point of them." I asked, shakily running my hand over the butterfly on his stomach. I don't know why I was shaking. I was just nervous. Maybe he didnt want me to touch him. But he didnt mind.
" There's a story behind each and every one." He grabbed my hand and brought it to his face, putting it against his cheek. I caressed it as he let go. I ran it back into his curls and my fingers tangled into his hair. I put my other hand up to the first one and laced my fingers together behind his neck. He wrapped his arms around my waist, pulling me closer. I braced myself as he slowly brought his face closer to mine. I've been waiting for this moment for what felt like eternity. I ached to know what the feeling of his pink plum lips would be like against mine. Our lips finally touched, sending sparks. It was slow, at first, but it suddenly heated up passionately. My hands couldn't get enough of his hair as his hands went up my jacket, feeling my torso. He ran his tongue over my bottom lip asking for entrance, which I happily granted. His tongue discovered every inch of my mouth as mine did his. I ran my hand down his chest, feeling his bare skin. It gave me goosebumps. The feeling of his skin against mine. He took off my jean jacket, and threw it to the floor. He turned me around so he could lift me up onto the counter. I straddled his waist with my legs as I sat down, meeting his height. Our lips never broke. He pulled back, leaving a trail of kisses down my jaw bone. He found the sweet spot right below my ear, making me gasp with pleasure. He smiled against my skin. I hopped off the counter so I could tug at his jeans. He pulled back, breathless, resting his forehead against mine.
" Not yet." He whispered, referring to me trying to take off his jeans. I nodded. He quickly kissed my lips again, and then pulled away to put his shirt back on. When I had my jacket back on he came towards me and looked down at me.
" You have no idea how long I've been wanting to do that."
" I've been wanting to do that since the moment I laid my eyes on you." I whispered. we stood there for a bit, just staring at eachother.
" Do you think this is wrong?" I asked, breaking the silence. He took a deep breath before meeting my eyes.
" Yes."
" Then why are we doing this." I asked. He rubbed his face with the palm of his hands.
" I can't help it." He groaned.
" Me either."
" There's got to be some way to make this work Maria." He put his hand on the counter for support.
" We just can't let anyone know." I replied.
" This is our secret. Until you graduate."
I met his gaze.
" Yes. Our secret. It can't be that hard to keep quiet." I said.
" No. Not at all." He said. I checked the time. It was 9:00.
" I better get going. My mom said not to stay out too late. It's a school night." I grabbed my things and headed towards the door. I heard him follow behind me.
We pulled infront of Kelly's, and I turned to look at him. He was already watching me. Should I kiss him bye? Maybe not.
" Bye Harry." I said opening the door.
" Goodbye Maria. I'll see you tomorrow."
I turned around when I felt a hand on my wrist, spin me around.
" Wait." Harry whispered. He leaned over and quickly pressed his lips to mine.
" Goodbye." I blushed as he pulled away.
" Goodbye." He sat back in his seat and watched me as I shut the door. I got in my car and left Kelly's, heading on my way home.
" Going somewhere?" My mom yelled from the kitchen.
" Im going out mom."
