The Nanny
Chapter 13
Ever since last night I made it clear to Rae that we were no longer going to continue with our plan of making Harry jealous. Who knew it'd hurt me just as much as it did him?
Instead, we were going to focus on having a good time while she was still here.
We spent the next two days going out to parks and stores. It was just Rae, Alek, and I. Through out that time I made small talk with Oliver but ignored Carmen and Harry. Their parents were coming back in three days, which left Rae only three days to stay, and I wasn't about to waste that time stressing over unimportant things.
The morning before Rae had to leave I got up later than usual. I walked around in my pajamas, wondering where everyone was. I stopped just outside the kitchen when I heard voices from inside it.
"You need to work faster" Harry said.
I heard someone open a can of soda, "I'm trying my best. It's not like I can just magically make someone fall in love with me" Oliver replied.
What the hell where they talking about?
I heard Harry sigh, "You aren't even trying. You're barely around her and you stopped flirting. That wasn't the deal"
"When we made the deal you didn't tell me she would be this difficult. I tried being nice, I tried being smooth, I even tried being rude incase she was into that"
Who? who was he trying to get to fall for him?
I heard another sigh from Harry, "I'm tired of her. She's irritating me at this point. Actually, she has been for a while. I don't want to deal with all this awkward tension around the house anymore. If you can't get her to like you soon, then I don't know what I'm going to do"
"Don't worry" Oliver said, "I can tell she's starting to warm up to me. Sooner or later it'll come together. These things don't just happen in a week."
"Fine. Get her to fall for you by the end of next week. You owe me bad, so don't waste any time" Harry sounded upset.
I walked in just as he was walking out. Oliver was sitting at the kitchen table drinking a coke.
"What was that?" I said as I pointed to where Harry had just exited from.
He shook his head at me.
"Who were you guys talking about?" I questioned, my voice raising itself.
He smirked and walked over to me. He kissed my forehead, "Don't worry about it babe." Then he left, leaving me without any words. I replayed their conversation in my head. Harry wanted Oliver to get a girl in this house to fall for him, Oliver said he was being nice to her and flirted, then he said that she was difficult, and then he said that he would try harder.....Harry was sick of the awkward tension.....Oliver kissed my forehead and called me babe........No...this can't be right. Was this a joke? Was I the girl?
