Chapter 2: Settling In
Jenna's POV: (
sorry I'm gonna skip a little bit, I just want her to meet the other dancers and the boys asap!)
After getting a cab ride to the Ritz Carlton Hotel in LA, I brought a luggage cart up to suite 214 and jumped on the bed. It was only 4:30 pm California time, and time change was going to be difficult. I only had until 6:30 when someone from One Direction's Management team was going to pick me up and take me to dinner to meet the other two dancers. After dinner, we were going to meet the boys at their secret headquarters.
At 6:30 as promised, a knock came to my door. "Are you Jenna Baker?" a tall, bald man said. I nodded. "I'm Paul, the boys' bodyguard. I'm here to take you to dinner." he said and I shut the door. I was wearing a little black dress with small black heels. I had my hair straightened and wore white gold hoop earrings. Paul lead me to a small black SUV and I got inside. The drive to the restaurant was fairly short, considering the driver was familiar with California traffic. Paul lead me to a table inside with two other blonde girls, an older woman and an older man. I took my seat and Paul left.
"You must be Jenna," the woman said. "I'm Hannah, one of the choreographers, and this is Mason, the other choreographer." Hannah said pointing to the man. "The two girls next to you are the other two dancers, Sammie and Hunter."
"Hi, I'm Sammie." the blonde girl sitting next to me said as she stuck her hand out. We shared a smile, and the other girl Hunter didn't say anything.
When it was time to order, Sammie ordered the smoked turkey, Hunter ordered pasta, Hannah and Mason ordered chicken salads, and I ordered a roasted chicken. We talked and discussed scheduling, and then it was time for the rules.
"You have to follow a strict diet. You three girls are in perfect shape, and we intend to keep you that way. You'll be given a list of what you can and cannot eat, and when you have to eat your meals. You have to be extra cautious, and not do anything that could possibly hurt yourself. And most imortantly: no dating any of the boys. That's a management policy, we wouldn't want anything to complicate their lives, or any more hate." Hannah explained. We all had to agree.
Once I knew it, dinner was over and we were in a car on our way to meet the boys. We walked into a big building, and were taken into a room with a few black couches. The three dancers sat on one couch, and we were left alone.
"So, where are you guys from?" I asked, trying to be nice.
"New York, where real stars are made." Hunter said scoffing. Gee, thanks.
Sammie rolled her eyes, "I'm from Wyoming. Stars can be made anywhere, Hunter." she said smiling sweetly. Hunter just sighed whatever. Well at least Sammie was being polite. We sat in an awkward silence for a few more minutes until Mason came back in.
"Girls, the boys are very excited to meet you!" Mason said as he pulled back a curtain. The curtain revealed the 5 boys I had thought about all the time for the past two years. One Direction. Louis walked out first, and we all stood up. He gave each of us a hug, and sat on the couch across from us. Next walked out Liam and Zayn, and they did the same. We all introduced ourselves to one another. Then walked out Niall, and his perfect little smile came as soon as he saw us. I was on the end of the couch so he hugged me last and brushed his thumb over my cheekbone. WHAT.
We were all smiles and then Harry walked out. He had the biggest grin with his little dimples, and hugged Hunter.
"Harry you look particulary stunning." Hunter said fake giggling. Harry didn't look stunning, he was in just a black v-neck and dark jeans. Harry smiled and moved on to meet Sammie. I wasn't as nervous to meet the other 4 boys, but Harry made me extremely nervous. When he came to me, he pulled me in for a comforting hug. I settled into his chest and he rubbed his hands just in the small of my back.
"Don't be nervous, love. We're going to be great friends." he whispered in my ear and smiled. I looked up at him and he just winked. We shook hands and he went and sat with the other boys.
"So, where are you ladies from?" Liam asked sweetly.
"New York," Hunter said barely giving Liam a chance to finish. Sammie and I told him where we were from and all the boys smiled in acknowledgement. We started just talking about different things, from family to how long we had each been dancing, to school.
Eventually, the conversation moved to our dating life. Louis and Zayn were the only two members in a relationship, and Hunter and Sammie said they were single. When the question got asked to me, I didn't know what I was supposed to say. Technically I had ended things with Danny by ending the call, but we hadn't talked since this afternoon.
"I um, just got out of a relationship with a guy I had been dating for almost three years." I said looking down, suddenly becoming more serious. "We actually broke up before I got on the plane. He said I had to pick him or dance, and I chose dance." I said, feeling sad. Had I made the right choice? Had I really given up on a guy I had been with since middle school? Everyone's smiles faded and Harry pulled me off the couch and gave me a comforting hug. I hugged back, because who wouldn't hug Harry Styles?
"I'm sorry Jenna, the guy sounds like a total douche." Niall said and everyone cracked a smile. "How about we play truth or dare? To get your mind off it? It would help us all bond.." he said smiling. We all agreed and sat in a circle. The circle was Louis, Niall, Harry, Liam, Zayn, me, Sammie and Hunter. The rule was if you refused, you had to take one article of clothing off. This could get interesting. Louis started things off.
"Niall, truth or dare?" Niall responded with truth. "Have you ever considered dating a fan?"
"I've seen so many good lookin' girls, and I think at this point whoever I date will be a fan." he said smiling and looking at us girls. I would happily date Niall anytime.
"Alright Jenna, truth or dare?" I replied with dare, just because it was my first night with the boys and I wanted to make a good impression. "I dare you to kiss the hottest person in this room." Niall said smiling cheekily. I froze, I just met these boys so there was no way I was going to kiss one of them! They would probably think I was weird or something. I just smiled and took off my heels. If this keeps up I'll be naked before the night ends.
We played a few more rounds and after 9 questions, Louis wasn't wearing any pants, Zayn was missing his shoes, Niall was fully clothed, Liam was missing his jacket and Harry was shirtless. Hunter had taken off her cardigan and her shoes, and Sammie's skirt had been removed, leaving her in a lavendar thong. I had no shoes on still, and was lucky that I hadn't been asked anything besides my first question. I guess my luck ended, because Harry asked me next.
"truth." I replied.
"Do you find me attractive?" he asked raising his eyebrows. He got up from his seat and sat right in front of me, holding my hands. He looked straught into my brown eyes. I nodded out a weak 'yes,' because he made me so nervous. He got closer to my face and said,
"Prove it. I dare you to kiss me." Did Harry Styles really ask to kiss me?
"You only get one question, Styles." I said jokingly. But he wasn't joking around.
"If you don't kiss me that dress is coming off and I don't think you want that." he said brushing his thumb across my hand. He was right, I didn't want that. I sighed. I guess I was kissing Harry. I rolled my eyes and said I would kiss him. "Wait, stand up. I want this to be proper." he said pulling me up to my feet with him.
Harry grabbed my hips and pulled me close to him. I looked up and all he was doing was smiling. He pulled me into his lips and we finally kissed. Some say they feel fireworks, which I think is entirely a lie. You feel all warm and happy when someone kisses you, and that's how I felt with Harry. My arms snaked around his torso and I was the one to deepen the kiss. Harry happily agreed and opened his mouth so my tongue could enter. We stood there kissing for a while, and I didn't even realize what I was doing. I pulled away as soon as I thought of Hannah's rules: no dating the boys.
"Happy?" I turned to everyone, realizing Harry's hands were still on my hips. I scooted back a little from him. Everyone laughed and was surprised, and started cracking dirty jokes. Great.
"So how was it? Hot?" Louis asked cheekily. Harry hit his arm, and I couldn't say anything. I suddently felt awful, extremely flushed and queasy. They all awaited a response, and all I could do was look at everyone. When I realized that I was going to be sick, I bolted out of the room as fast as I could. I didn't know where the bathrooms were, so I ran until I found one. I ran inside and threw up all of my dinner. This was definitely not a great first impression. After I was finished, I flushed the toilet and sat against the cold wall. I started to cry, this wasn't how things were supposed to be. Harry would never like someone who threw up when they first met him. The door opened, and of course Harry came in.
"Oh God, Harry you don't need to see me like this." I said wiping my face.
"No love," he sat next to me and wiped my tears for me. "You just flew in earlier, and you're exhausted. You're jetlagged, and you need to sleep. It's fine, don't worry. Management wants us to head back to the hotel anyways." Harry said getting one of the paper towels and wetting it to put on my neck to cool me down. He took his cold hands and felt my cheeks and then my forehead. I moaned a little at his touch, hoping he wouldn't mind. He just chuckled and helped me stand.
"Come on love, we can ride to the hotel together, just the two of us." Harry said giving me a kiss on the forehead.
Oh yeah, I had definitely made the right decision.
