Cinderella
Niall's POV
It's been a few days since Christmas and we are all packed up an ready to leave the house. As everyone is climbing into the van, I notice someone very important is absent.
"Where's Juniper?" I ask, looking at the others.
"She hasn't come out yet," Louis says, laying his legs on Eleanor's lap in the seat as she rolls her eyes.
"I'll go get her, be right back," I say, turning and walking back through the large front door. I check the common room, kitchen, upstairs in the bedrooms and out on the balcony, but there is still no sign of her.
As I'm starting to worry, I hear a small voice chattering away from outside on the back deck. I open the back door gently and see Junie squatting down next to a little bird and talking to it.
"I have to go now, little one," She says, smiling at the creature. The bird peeps. "I know, I know, I'll miss you too. But I have to go back to my family and you to yours. I'm sure they miss you."
The bird tweets again and hops a touch closer to her. She gently and slowly holds out her hand to the bird, finger stretched out. The bird looks at it strangely, then all of a sudden hops onto her finger. My mouth drops in amazement. She reminds me of Cinderella.
"You're so sweet," Junie says, using her other hand to softly pet the plumage of the little bird. "Here," She coos, holding the bird out toward the nearest tree. The bird pecks her finger, as if to kiss her, then flies to the tree, disappearing into the branches and snow.
Junie smiles and giggles.
"That was amazing," I say. Junie jumps slightly but then smiles.
"The little guy wanted to chat is all," She laughs, coming over and pecking my cheek, reminding me of the little bird. "Let's go home, Charming."
I smile and take her hand, leading her to the van. We all wave goodbye to the house as it disappear behind us. Junie lays her head on my chest and snuggles into me. I kiss the top of her head, resting my lips against her hair for a long moment. I lay my head back and wrap my arms around her, holding her close as I drift off to sleep.
Juniper's POV
I wake a few hours later as the van comes to stop.
"We're home, guys," Liam says sitting up and stretching. The rest of the car does the same.
I sit up and turn to see Niall, my little Irish angel, sleeping like he's in a coma. And when I say coma, I mean COMA. Like mouth hanging open and total motionlessness. I giggle and lightly shake his shoulder.
"Niaaalll," I say softly. He groans and shifts a bit, closing his mouth.
"Charming," I say a bit more firmly. He just waves off my words.
I smirk and lean down, crashing my lips against his. I pull back before he has time to react and exit the van, grabbing my suitcase from the back and towing it up to the condo.
"Whoa, wait!" Niall says, grabbing his suitcase and trying to catch up to me, but I'm already in the condo, rolling my suitcase down the hall and into my room, shutting the door quickly with a laugh as I see Niall running towards it.
"Juniper Rose, open this door!" Niall says, jiggling the door knob. The door isn't even locked. I know what game he's playing. I smirk.
"If you want me so bad, you'll just have to break down the door," I purr, then run to my bed and hide under the covers, peaking out so only my eyes show and looking at the door.
"Suit yourself," Niall says, then pushes open the door dramatically, flexing his muscles and making me laugh. He runs over to me. I scream and hide my head under the covers too.
He jumps onto the bed and pulls the covers off of me, making me giggle uncontrollably. He pins my arms by my head and kisses me forcefully. I smile into the kiss and kiss back with all I have.
He pulls back and smiles. "I love you, Rose."
"I love you more, Charming," I reply, and he smiles and kisses me again.
"Niall?" Louis calls.
Niall pulls away from the kiss just long enough to answer, "What?"
"Ummm there's someone here," Louis says, cautiously. "You should come talk to him."
I give Niall a funny look, but he just shrugs and goes to the door.
"Be right back," He says, shutting the door on his way out.
Niall's POV
"Be right back," I tell Junie, shutting her door and heading to the front door, where Louis stands, talking to a man in a black suit. The man looks very familiar.
"Yes?" I say, cautiously.
"Niall?" The man asks, seemingly breathless.
I nod my head. "And you are?"
The man looks sad. "You really don't recognize me?"
I shake my head and raise my eyebrows at him expectantly.
He sighs. "It's me, John. Juniper's father," He says, and my heart jumps to my throat.
