Chapter 1
I am Cate Wilson. Today was October 15. Two days before my 18th birthday. Currently I am sitting in my English class waiting for the bell to ring so hell can end and I can meet my boyfriend, Chris, and my best friends, Lee, he has been my best guy friend since 7th grade when we moved here, and Kaitlyn, she is my sister, and then there's Elliott, he is dating Kaitlyn so I have to put up with him, but we don't try to kill each other all the time...just most of the time. We all meet at my uncles bakery after school.
"class dismissed." Mr. Digger says in his dull voice.
I walk out being followed by Lee, he has that class with me.
"Can you believe he is single?" I say sarcastically to Lee.
"I know you two would be the perfect couple." He jokes and I pretend to barf.
we walk to the coke machine and I get a Sprite while Lee gets his usual coke and I grab Kaitlyns favorite drink, Big Red, she can't live without it.
"come on! I have to get to the bakery!" I say pulling his wrist.
"why? You don't have a shift today?" He says walking slowly behind, me and Kaitlyn are waitresses. My and Kaitlyns uncle owns a bakery. Our parents were in a car accident when we were 5. Kaitlyn is 2 months older than me but thinks she is the mature one. She isn't wrong, I am a total child.
"I don't have a shift but we are interviewing people for a new help." I say and step into my car, I put the key in and we buckle up as Lee pretends to pray, he is convinced I am a bad driver.
we arrive at the bakery and I jump out seeing Elliott, Kat, and Chris already there.
"hey baby." I say wrapping my arms around Chris' neck giving him a long kiss.
"hey! I am trying to hold down my lunch." Elliott says, he hates us when we do that but he does it all the time to Kaitlyn.
"come on, we have 4 people waiting for interviews." My uncle shouts, he is nice really, he is just stressed.
"coming!" I shout to him. "Ok, bye Chris..." I say kissing his neck.
"bye babe, I'll see you tomorrow." He says and Elliott and Kaitlyn say goodbye in 'their way' and Lee leaves hugging us and me and my sister walk to the back of the shop seeing 3 girls and 1 boy lined up.
i sit at the table and my eyes keep traveling to the boy with the curls. His perfect green eyes peirce into mine and I look away blushing quickly. He sends a wink my way leaving chills down my spine.
