New city, new life
Jay's POV
I went to London to celebrate New Year with my friends. It was cold so we didn't want to be out on the street. We went to the nearest Starbucks to warm up and melt the ice that made our hands look like dry plums. There were 3 of my friends with me there so we sat at the small table while waiting for our drinks to be done. We were laughing and making jokes so it was a great cozy atmosphere. We're all dancers so we were planning on going to a club after we drink some coffee and eat something. The moment the waitress shouted our names I went to get our drinks. It really felt great, the feeling of warm paper cups in my frozen hands. My friends and I were not planning to drink any alcohol in the club since we know it's not healthy and it really tastes gross. We finally drank our coffees and hot chocolates so we headed to the club called "Funky Buddha". We heard the music was good there and that loads of people come every week. When we arrived to the club we got to the bar and ordered some coke since we'll be dancing the whole night. Or so I thought. The next two hours we were dancing like crazy, no one could stop us, and they didn't want to because everyone who saw us was left speechless. The energy, moves, face expressions, the rhythm...it was all perfect. So people just stood there and watched. The photographer took a lot of pictures of us for the facebook page. "Oooh people will like these so much" he said. People screamed and cheered at us giving us their support to keep on dancing. After some time we felt dizzy from all the adrenaline and energy coming out of every part of our body. "I need water. And air. Loads of air! But water first!" I said. My friend Dora went to the bar with me while Meg and Sarah went to get their jackets because we left our mobile phones in them. While the waiter congratulated us for an amazing show I felt like someone's watching me. It's a scary feeling, I knew we were in a crowded club and it could just be someone searching for his friend but I felt someone's eyes on me for a long long time. When I finished double glass of water I felt someone's breath on my neck. So I turned around.
"I'm Harry." A stranger said with a wide smile on his face.
It took me a while for my eyes to focus and for my brain to process who am I talking to. Then I realized.
"I'm Jelena, but you can call me Jay."
We shook hands. Had curly hair, deep green eyes and the most beautiful smile I have ever seen. Of course, I've seen his smile many times, on pictures, in videos, on billboards and on one of my hoodies. It's just that I couldn't believe I was about to see it right in front of me.
"Very unusual name." He interrupted my inner fangirling.
"Not in Croatia." Somehow I remained calm and focused on every word I was saying so that I don't end up being an idiot.
"So you're Croatian girl? Man, if I knew a beautiful girl like you was in Croatia I would go there immediately and sing just for you."
I laughed and almost melted.
"So Harry Styles is standing i front of me. Should I scream?"
"Later." He winked at me. Okay so now I was completely freaked out and I don't even know how was I able to stay normal, like it's just a normal guy standing in front of me and hitting on me (i think). It's Harry fucking Styles! My crush for over 3 years now! How many times have I imagined that he was in front of me, asking me to marry him, taking me to his house and saying he loved me. Now I had to remember everything I needed to know in case I actually met him. Stay calm, Pretend it's a normal day, Say something funny, Don't try too hard, Don't panic, Keep in mind that he's just a normal guy who happens to be one of my favorite singers and a sex god.
Dora saw what was happening and left me alone with Harry.
"It's crazy in here wanna go out?" He asked me and offered me his hand.
"Good idea." I accepted the hand and followed him out.
When we got outside we sat on a bench.
"So Jay what brings you to London?" He asked me.
"I'm celebrating New Year with my friends here, and partly because of dancing."
"You're an amazing dancer, I was watching you back there."
"Thank you." I couldn't help but smile.
I have no idea how I still remained calm. All I could think about was that I should just keep breathing. Come on, Jay. You can survive Harry Styles.
He smiled at me.
Or you can't.
His smile reminded me of my first love. They really look alike and then I remembered that he is far away in Croatia, and that probably doesn't miss me at all. He never will. Even though Harry Edward Styles was right there, in front of me, I couldn't help it, I suddenly became so sad. I was sad that I didn't try more with my love, that I didn't let him know that I loved him properly, I spent so many years in love with him and just standing there not doing anything, and he doesn't give a rat's ass about me. That's what you get for missing your chances.
Harry looked me with concern in his eyes.
"Are you okay?" A picture of my love's smile appeared in front of my eyes. I shook my head to remove that painful image of my mind.
"You're hurt." Harry said.
"It's just that I'm in love with someone who doesn't give a fuck about me."
"I think it's kinda crazy not loving a girl as amazing as you are."
I looked at his face, now he was just six inches away from my face.
I looked at his eyes, so perfect, like they 're glowing in this dark and cold night. At his pink lips, perfectly shaped, inviting me to just reduce the distance between us and warm up my lips on his.
"Never Have I Ever wanted to kiss someone so badly." He whispered.
"Mmm, I love that game." I said with smirk on my face.
Then he kissed me. I felt dizzy and confused, then excited and happy. I had so many feelings boosting inside of me. Butterflies were making a tornado in my stomach. I had no idea what was going on, I just wanted it to last.
