He couldn't be happier. He will finally discover what Alice had been hiding.

Alice took her diary our before going to the football match.
She started writing.

Dear diary,
it's too much... I miss olivia so much. I can't wait for her to come back.... i love her so much she is one of my best friends and I miss her so much. I have Polly but it has to be the 3 of us! I
I'm sick of crying every night, for her for everything.
I don't know If will be able to survive the beating anymore, but I can't tell anybody.
I can't trust anybody.
And my dad being mad at me doesn't help.

She closed the little book and put it under the covers.
She sighed and went downstairs.
"Done mother, we can go now"

Marcel opened the door of Alice's house, that was thankfully unlocked.
You can't do this, this is wrong A little voice in his head kept saying.
But he knew this was for her own good.
He went downstairs carefully, without making a noise. Like if Alice would appear out of nowhere and tell him he had betrayed her trust.
He shivered at the thought, but kept walking.
He opened the door of Alice's room.
It was all a mess, it looks like it wasn't cleaned since middle age! His mother would have said.
He walked towards her bed and pulled out her diary.
He stared at it for a good 2 minutes.
If someone had seen him in that moment, they would have noticed the guilt flashing in his green eyes.
He opened the book.
He didn't know what to search for.
He didn't even know what he was looking for.

A confession?
He decided to read what she have wrote recently.
He found the page of today.
He satrted reading.
His face growing in confussion as he read.
Bitting his lip, trying to concentrate.
When he finished, he put the book back in place with a frown.
He didn't understand what that was about.

Alice noticed the change in Marcel, how he talked to her.
Everytime she would go somewhere he would ask where and offer to walk her.
