When You Let Your Heart Win
"So you're leaving in two days?"
"Yeah." He responded. "A full month away from this shit place." He laughed halfheartedly.
"Are you gonna come see me?" I asked quietly. "Ya know, before you leave?"
"If you want me to, yeah." He laughed again, just this time it was a real laugh. A happy one.
"Maybe you can spend the night the night before…" I trailed letting him actually decide.
"Or I can spend the night over there. I don't mind." I rushed out afraid he would say no.
"Bear, I'm back in London."
"Oh." I frowned. "How… when did you go back?"
"The morning after I dropped you off there." He sighed.
"Oh." That's all I thought I could say. It's all I felt that needed to be said, actually. 'Oh' what a lovely word, Teddy.
"I had to finishing packing. I didn't know you'd want to be around me right now."
"I always want to be around you." I fought.
"You sure?" He huffed.
"I'm sorry. I just got a lot on my mind." He growled, at himself. "How about I come back tonight? That'll give us two nights and a full day to just hang out."
"You don't have to." I shook my head, even though I knew he couldn't tell I was. "You need to pack and sleep."
"I want to Teddy. I'm not gonna see you for like a month, of course I want to spend time with you."
"Okay." I responded with a smile, a guilty feeling bubbling up inside my stomach, but I smiled. "Text me when you're on your way?"
"Yeah, babe." He laughed. "Now clean your room."
"What?!" I squeaked.
"I know for a fact you tore it up whenever you couldn't find your… well my shirt I gave you all those years ago."
"I hate you." I giggled as I lifted my shirt, the exact one he was talking about, up over my nose and smiled back at the memories we had when it came to this shirt when I first moved here from Northumberland. Over the first year we've known each other, he'd wear this shirt all the damn time. It wasn't a fancy shirt or anything, it was just plain as can be, but he loved it and when I'd have him and our friends over in the summer, I'd steal it, just because I could. He always got it back, but I also kept taking it until he got the hint that I wouldn't stop. I guess that was my way of idiotically flirting with your best mate back in the day.
"I'll see you tonight, babe."
"I'll be waiting." I smiled. "I love you."
"Love you too." He whispered. "Bye."
"Bye." I smiled before hanging up the phone and pranced down the stairs.
"Mornin' mumma." I smiled prancing over to her, where she was cooking us breakfast, and kissed her cheek before doing the same with my father. "Daddy."
"Someone's in a good mood." My dad laughed before handing me a cup of tea.
"Louis' coming over tonight." I smiled.
"Is he spending the night?" My father asked as I sipped at my tea and sat down across from him.
"If that's okay?" I asked, a little afraid he'd say no. "I sorta asked him to stay until he leaves…"
"Okay?" I asked. "Just 'okay'?"
"He's your boyfriend, sweetie, it's okay." My mum shrugged as she turned around to look at me. "You're 21 now, you're an adult and we love Louis, so okay, he can stay."
"Thank you." I smiled.
"Just don't do what you did back…"
"Got it." I blushed. "No need to bring that up. Never do I want to read a text like that ever again."
"Don't call me that." I mumbled turning over and tried to look for his face, but it was too dark in my room to even see the outline of his head. "What time is it?"
"About three in the morning." He snorted.
"And you're now just getting here?" I asked sitting up and reaching over for the lamp on my end table.
"I'm a terrible packer, babe, you did that for me all the time." He laughed a response as I turned on the light and finally looked at him.
"And you went to the pub before coming here?" I asked with a scowl.
"I had one drink." He sighed.
"Mhmm." I nodded.
"I'm allowed to drink, Teddy." He argued.
"And I'm allowed to be pissed whenever you come to my house at 3 in the morning whenever you said you'd be here… well you didn't give me a time but I didn't think you meant this late."
"I'm sorry." He frowned. "I had a drink. One. I promise."
"It's not the problem, right now." I whispered. "I wanted you here."
"And I'm here." He smiled. "Babe, I'm sorry I'm a wanker at packing and I'm sorry I stopped for a beer, but I'm here."
"I just wanted to be with you longer." I pouted.
"There is a way for that…"
"Please don't." I pleaded with him.
"We're already acting like we did before everything happened, Teddy." He argued.
"So me being here is working." I nodded.
"Have you figured out how long you're gonna be here?" He sighed.
"I was thinking about staying here for the whole first leg…"
"Are you serious?!"
"Shh!" I shushed him. "Do I have to remind you it is three in the morning?"
"I'm sorry, but are you serious?!" He whisper shouted.
"It's a small leg, babe, go have fun with the boys." I tried, but noticed he wasn't having it. "Babe, it's two weeks."
"I don't care." He whispered.
"Who called you here wanting to be with you?" I asked grabbing his hands whenever he looked down at his own.
"You did." He sighed.
"Exactly." I smiled. "So if you really think I'm that bitch, to work you up before you go off to tour just to break up with you whenever you get home, you don't know me at all."
"I do know you." He growled.
"Then stop being a baby thinking I'm leaving you… for good." I added whenever he snapped a glare my way. "I belong with you whether we like it or not, handsome."
"I just don't like being away from you." He shrugged.
"And with all the shit you've been through lately, you have zero trust left in you, but baby, I swear I'll be here."
"I can't believe you leave in the morning."
"I'm sorry, bear." He whispered and kissed my forehead.
"Do you really have to leave? The first show isn't for another three days." I pouted.
"Gotta get settled." He sighed. "You know how the start of the tour starts."
"I'm just being a baby and wanna keep you to myself." I smiled up at him. "You're sorta sexy."
"Oh really?" He laughed.
"Mhmm." I nodded. "It's the bum. So sexy."
"God forbid you'd actually like me for me personality." He joked.
"Nah, it's pretty shit." I sighed and rolled onto my back and looked at the ceiling. "Maybe I like you a little."
"Just a little?" He asked rolling on top of me and smirked.
"You're a hell of a shag, as well." I smiled as he dropped his head down between my neck and shoulder.
"Can you not?" He groaned.
"What?" I giggled. "Are you being shy?" I gushed. "Oh my God! The bloke that hip thrusted the entire Up All Night tour is being shy! I don't believe this."
"Stop." He laughed and came out of his little hiding place and began tickling me.
"Now you stop!" I laughed at him.
"Nah." He smiled.
"If you want to be kicked in the face, I'd stop." I squirmed and got him to lessen up some. "You'll bruise, Louis, stop!"
"Fine." He laughed and sat back on the heels of his feet and looked at me as I tried to get my breathing back on track.
"I hate you."
"Damn." He huffed. "What am I gonna do then? I love you and you hate me, how is that gonna work?"
"You figure that out." I smiled getting up and walking to my bathroom. "I'll be showering as you do."
"No!" He yelled jumping up, knowing from the sound of the bed springs, and his feet hitting the floor boards nearing me. "Don't do that."
"What? Why?" I laughed as his arms wrapped around my waist from behind.
"Let's take a bubble bath." He pleaded behind me. "Please."
"Because your shower is small as shit and I don't want you out of my sight." He said, acting like the big child he is, as his grip got slightly tighter.
"Okay." I giggled patting his arms. "Let go."
"Louis, let go."
"Why are you acting like a child?" I laughed and walked, with him latched onto me, towards the bathtub, starting the water and putting bath soap in before standing back up straight and leaned into him. "Do you really have to leave tomorrow?"
"Mhmm." He hummed with a slight nod of his head.
"I hate your job sometimes." I sighed turning around, slightly surprised I could with the grip he had on me, and wrapping my arms around his neck and kissed his chin. "I'll miss you."
"Now you're understanding how I feel." He nodded with a smirk. "Good."
"Two weeks will feel like nothing." I coached myself. "It'll fly bye and then you'll come home to me and I'll kiss you all over…"
"All over?" He asked.
"Mhmm." I nodded sliding my hands down his neck, to his chest, down to the hem of his shirt before lifting it over his head. "Everywhere. Your lips." I said as I kissed his lips. "Your neck." I smiled kissing his neck. "Where I live." I smiled bigger as I kissed over his heart and felt him sigh and looked back at him. "Is that okay?"
"Will other places be kissed?" He asked, so I nodded. "Then yes, that is perfect."
"Good." I said as stood up straight, my hands and body completely off him and turned around and took off his shirt I was wearing and a pair of booty shorts before getting in the half full foamy bathtub.
“So, what do you want to do tonight?” Lou asked as he stripped off the rest of his clothes and got in behind me.
“I don't know.” I shrugged leaning back against him. “Something lowkey.”
“Okay.” He nodded wrapping his arms around my top half. “Dinner, here or at a restaurant?”
“Here.” I replied quickly. “I don't feel like being stared at.”
“Done. Take out or we make it?”
“We make it.” I smiled leaning to the side some and looked back at him.
“Done. You want food poisoning, okay.”
“My parents will be at a business meeting dinner thing.” I laughed at him.
“I get to woo you without having eavesdroppers.” He smiled and slid us a little further into the bubbly water.
“You always woo me, babe.” I rolled my eyes at him as I started playing with the bubbles. “It’s been a good couple of days.”
“I know.” He whispered as he kissed my temple. “You haven't been this relaxed in so long, I forgot what being home does for a person.”
“Then stop being a grouch when I stay here for the first leg of tour.” I giggled.
“Fuck that. I want you there and I'm not going to get that, so let me be grouchy.” He huffed playfully. “Sorry I like you.”
“Like?” I teased. “Damn, things have definitely changed.”
“Things always do.” He smiled. “I’m still hoping you’ll change your mind, but you’re stubborn as hell and won't.”
“You love my stubbornness, shush it.”
“That’s not the only thing I love about you, bear.”
