When You Let Your Heart Win

Chapter 79

"Jesus Christ, what is she doing?"
"Wanna go take a bubble bath."
"It's been over an hour, does she not want to see her daughter?"
"Did she go out last night?" I asked, but then again, I didn't. "Is she so hungover because she went out?"
"Babe, relax." Louis said softly then whenever he noticed I wasn't going to relax anytime soon, he tried to calm me down by wrapping one of his arms around my waist and pulled me into his side as we continued to wait for Eleanor to get done whatever she had to do or whatever she was doing, other than picking up her daughter and bringing her home for the first time.
Excuse me if I'm a little pissed about this. Shouldn't she be racing over to the hospital to get her home?
"Do you know what she's doing?" I asked looking at him just to watch him shake his head no. "You didn't ask?"
"I don't have the right to ask what she's doing." He shrugged and squeezed my side. "Relax. I'm sure she's doing something productive."
"She fucking better." I snapped just to get my side pinched. "Ouchie."
"Fine." I pouted and laid my head on his chest and tried to get my brain to stop thinking about whatever the bird is doing. "How are you?"
"I'm good." He laughed. "How are you, Bear?"
"Irritable." I mumbled.
"Wanna watch a movie?"
"We're going to be here for that much longer?!" I sat up quickly and looked at him with wide eyes.
"I don't know, babe." He laughed pulling me back into him. "I'm trying to get you to relax."
"Ha!" I laughed. "Oh how the tables have turned. Again."
"It's fine." He smiled against my forehead.
"I'm going to go make a sandwich." I huffed, after a minute, that felt like another hour had passed by, slapped his thigh once and pushed myself up. "Want anything?"
"No, I'm good." He shook his head.
"If you change your mind, just ask." I sighed and went to walk around him and out of the living room and towards the kitchen, but Louis grabbed my hand and pulled me back in front of him. He left me standing in front of him, but he moved to the edge of the couch and grabbed ahold of my back pockets.
"What?" I whined more than I intended to, which made him smirk and move his hands from my back pockets, to my hands and placed them on his shoulders before putting his hands back to where they were and pulled me closer to him, my stomach and lower half leaning against his chest.
"I love you." He smiled while his hands squeezed my bum.
"And I love you." I rolled my eyes. "What does that have to do with anything at this precise moment?"
"It doesn't." He shook his head once and just smiled at me. "I love you." He repeated, but this time in a whisper and kissed my stomach. "Whatever El is doing, I'm sure it's worth the delay."
"And if it's not?"
"We can't do anything about it." He shrugged. "What's wrong?"
"You don't find it strange that she's not pushing whatever she's doing to the side, so she can go get her daughter and take her home?" I asked back, just to watch him shrug.
"Then she must be doing something more important."
"Did she seriously just walk right in?" I huffed from my seat on the couch. The spot where I've been sitting for another hour just waiting for this broad to call and say 'hey, let's go get Shay,' but no. She just comes over and barges right it. Who is this person and are we sure she has a brain?
"Stop." Lou looked at me with a slight scowl then got up just in time for her to walk into the living room.
"Hello." She smiled.
"Hi." I mumbled looking her over. From the looks of it, she was just at the salon. Her hair is slightly lighter, her skin looks shiny and her nails are freshly painted. If she did that today, I swear World War Three will start.
"Sorry I'm late." She apologised. "My appointments took longer than I thought." She smiled and put her hands to her hair and scrunched it a little with a big, proud smile on her face. "Do you like it?" She asked looking between the two of us. "I got it coloured and got extensions."
"You look nice." Lou nodded and leaned back against the couch as I just looked at her with probably the most unamused, most hated look a face could cook up.
"Thanks!" She giggled. "Also thank you for throwing the idea of going at me. That spa was amazing just like you said."
"What?" I yelped.
"You didn't know I was going to the spa?" El looked at me and I shook my head no, probably with that beautiful look still on my face. "Oh well." She shrugged then looked back to Louis and motioned to him with the same proud smile. "Louis here told me to go relax and pamper myself a few days ago so I made an appointment and went today." She shrugged her shoulders. "It was worth the money and the guy that gave me my massage, he was fit." She swooned then sighed sadly. "I almost paid for another hour, but I got hungry."
"Oh!" I nodded with a sarcastic frown. "You got hungry? You didn't have anything more important to do today? Other than not going to bring your daughter home from the hospital? I hope you had an amazing lunch." I growled.
"Teddy?!" Louis yelled.
"What? I didn't say anything any other woman wouldn't." I shrugged like it was nothing. "We've sat here for almost three hours because we thought she was doing something productive for Shay, just to find out she went to the spa because you offered she go 'relax'. We could've went and picked up Shay while she did her shit."
"She's in good hands there." El looked at me with a confused look. "What's wrong with having her in there a little longer?"
"You hated being in the hospital." I pointed out.
"Don't you think your daughter would hate being in there as well?" I spat.
"She's only three days old." She waved off. "I bet she thinks she's at home."
"Being on monitors is being at home?" I snorted. "Yeah, okay. Maybe Shay is better off in the hospital."
"Teddy, stop it." Louis stood up from his little lean on that he was doing and looked at me. "You don't know what you're talking about."
"Yeah, you're right, I don't." I got up and went to walk to a different room, but El stopped me.
"I'm sorry I didn't think you'd get so worked up about this." El grabbed my hand softly and kept me in the living room.
"Well congratulations, it did." I huffed snatching my hand out of hers. "Go pick up your daughter. That is if you don't have anything else more important to do."
"Wait, you're not coming with us?" El frowned.
"Why should I go?" I shrugged.
"Teddy…" Louis sighed and grabbed my hand and pulled me in front of me. "Just come with us."
"Because I want you there." He whined.
"I don't feel like being around people right now." I rolled my eyes.
"Bear, Iwant you there."
"Good afternoon." The nurse smiled from the nursery's head desk. "What can I do for you lot?"
"We're here to pick up our daughter." Lou replied as I stayed behind him, while Eleanor's nose was stuck in her phone. I did it. I got guilt tripped into coming with them. I literally hate the power Louis has over me. He shows a little frown or a little pout and I basically drop to my knees for him and do what he wants. It's aggravating. I don't have a backbone whenever it comes to this relationship.
"Right." She nodded. "Name?"
"Shayla Calder."
"And you're the father?" She asked and Louis responded with a nod and looked back at me. I'm guessing to see my reaction, but my face held no emotion. I don't want to be around a certain someone right now, so all I want to do is go home and cuddle the couch.
"Just a second." The nurse replied looking at the screen to Louis. "We have to make sure she's off everything and has all of her stuff together.
"Okay, thank you."
"Mhmm. You lot can have a seat." She nodded towards the little waiting room they had set up.
"Bear?" Louis whispered from behind me as I walked over to a seat and just before I sat down, he grabbed my arm, stopping me from taking a seat, sat down and pulled me onto his lap. "I'm sorry."
"Mhmm." I nodded.
"Teddy…" He sighed and turned me sideways so he could see me more, but I just stared at the wall. "If you're mad at me for snapping at you, I'm sorry." He whispered trying to get me to look at him, but I'm being the stubborn bitch that I am and looking anywhere but him. And right now, that happens to be a wall about babies moving through the pelvic bone. Gross.
The little waiting room thing that we're sitting in is empty, if you don't include the three of us, if you'd call this a waiting room, that is. After you step off the lifts, you walk about ten feet and you're at the seats we're at then another five is the main desk for the maternity ward. With how many babies are born each day, I'm surprised they don't have a bigger 'waiting room.'
The nurse that we were talking to is now talking to a doctor, that I'm assuming is Shayla's and Eleanor is snickering behind her phone. Paying attention to just herself and her little conversation other than waiting to get her daughter. I'd like to know what goes on in her brain, that I assume she has. Shay isn't even mine and I think I care more about her than her own mother.
"I love you." Lou whispered, snapping me out of the train of thought me and the post of the pelvic thing had going on.
"Mhmm." I hummed looking at him quickly before rolling my eyes. "If you keep that look on your face, it'll stay like that."
"Why are you so worked up about her going to the spa?" He whispered so only I could hear him, but with Eleanor being the only person close to hearing range and with how far her nose is into her phone, I don't think anyone heard him.
"I just find it strange that she didn't drop everything and come straight here the second she got word that Shay was being released. If I was Shay's mother…"
"But you're not." He cut me off. "So lay off."
"I…" I stopped and looked at him. I can't believe he said that. Especially to me of all people.
"Don't." He shook his head and looked away. "Don't fucking cry."
"I literally can't believe you just said that to me." I whispered.
"You don't know what she's thinking." He fought.
"Neither do you." I snapped.
"I've spent more time with her than you, so I think I know more than you."
"Then I don't need to be here." I growled and got to my feet and went to walk to the bathroom, or anywhere that doesn't involve him, just to come an inch away from running into a doctor.
"Oh, hello there." She smiled. "Your daughter is all ready."
"She's…" I stopped and looked behind me, Louis was a foot or so behind me with a sympathetic look on his face while El was still on her phone. Did she not just hear that her daughter is good to go? "Those two are the loving parents. Not me. I'm just the over emotional, bitch of a girlfriend."
"I think I'll walk home."
"Hi." I laughed the fakest laugh my body could cook up.
"You look like you want to cry…"
"Because I'm about to." Here we go. "I'm sorry, but I have no one to talk to."
"I don't care about that. What happened?" He asked stepping out into the hallway and hugged me tightly.
"Shayla's ruining everything, Niall."

I'll literally always be here lol this is my number 1 favourite story!!! I even recommended it to many of my friends and a few of them don't even like 1D but they absolutely love the story :) And call me a very hopeful optimist but there is a big part of me that believes we will have either one more tour or another album in a few years' time. But until then, this story holds me together

Much Love ~Liz <3

I'm trying to. I promise. I just changed everything around and got a new and better PC, so I'm hoping. I'm still in love with this story and Louis (even if he's back with Eleanor). I've been rereading this lately and it's such a good story line and I want to finish it for people that are still around, but I feel like I lost a lot and with them not even being a band anymore, but I promise I'm trying. hopefully around next week I'll sit my ass down and get to work.
But thank you for still being here. you're the fricken best.
