When You Let Your Heart Win
“Babe, you ready?”
“Just a second!” I answered him as I continued to stuff my suitcase. We’re going home for Louis’ birthday and for Christmas. And yes I am over packing. I am a girl, what do you suspect?
Anyways, Louis is or was trying to get Eleanor to come with us, but she’s declining, thank God, and Louis doesn’t like it. Even after she has told him that she’s going home for the holidays as well, he keeps asking. I don’t understand why he’s practically begging her to come with us.
“Again with the over packing, Teddy.” Lou groaned walking into our room as I sat on my suitcase, while trying to zip it shut. I can’t multitask.
“Help me.” I pouted looking up at him.
“Stop packing so much shit. We’re staying there for four days.” He emphasized.
“I don’t care.” I whined. “We might go out on a date or go out in the snow.”
“A date on Christmas Eve and Christmas day?” He asked. “Huh, I didn’t know places were open."
“Do you want me to unpack?” I raised an eyebrow at him.
“Uh, ha, no.” He nervously laughed.
“Then shut up and help me.” I grinned up at him. “Pwease?”
“You don’t need to act like a child, Bear.” He laughed standing in front of me and zipped my suitcase without a problem. It must be nice being a strong, sexy man.
“Thanks, boo.” I smiled grabbing his belt loops before he could move an inch.
“You’re welcome.” He laughed whenever I didn’t let go. “Bear, we gotta go.”
“Kiss me first.” I whined putting on a cute duck face.
“What has gotten into you?” He laughed leaning down and kissed me.
“Just happy to get out of London.”
“Even if it’s for a few days?”
“Then a day or two later we’re off to…” I stopped, hoping he’d finish the sentence for me. “We’re off toooooo….”
“Not telling you.” He smirked, kissed me again, pushed me off my suitcase onto the bed and grabbed my suitcase and left the room.
“You’re the sweetest boyfriend ever!” I huff fixing my hair before getting up and looking around the room to make sure I got everything.
“Teddy, don’t make me come back in there and drag you out of the front door!”
“I’m so scared!” I giggled staying in my place and thought if I needed anything else.
“Busy at the moment, babe!”
“Oh you’re counting! Cute!” I giggled.
“Seriously don’t make me come in there!”
“That’s what she said!” I laughed clutching my stomach. I’m a funny person. “Ahh!”
“I told you to stop making ‘that’s what she said’ jokes.” He growled playfully and bounced me on his shoulder.
“This always happens.” I sighed resting an elbow on his back and put my chin on my palm.
“You always take forever.”
“I was making sure I didn’t forget anything.” I whined as he started to walk us out the door.
“Babe, you got everything in your suitcase but our bed.” He huffed.
“I do not!” I gasped and tried to sit up…. or lay straight? I don’t know how to describe this position.
“Teddy, you forgot your phone!” El called from the doorway.
“See!” I yelled slapping his bum. “I forgot something! If Eleanor wasn’t here, I would be in Doncaster bored out of my mind!”
“That’s a lie.” He snorted turning us around and walked us back to El. “Thanks.”
“No problem.” She giggled. “Have fun.”
“Oh we will.” I fist pumped my arm, but I bet she didn’t see it because the upper half of my body is behind Louis’ back and let’s just face the facts, I’m a short person, so I have small arms, so I’m sure she didn’t see me.
“Are you sure you don’t want to tag along?” Sigh. Can… I… Just… Pinch… You. “Ow! Teddy, what was that for?”
“It’s practically in my face.” I sighed. “It’s taunting me to do something.”
“I”m fine going back to my parents.” El giggled. “Have a safe trip and a happy holidays.”
“Thank you!” I cheered, making the two laugh again.
“Make sure you lock up before you go?”
“I’m not stupid, Louis.” El sighed and I had to hold back a snort. She’s a ditz. “Now leave before you hit major traffic.”
“Right. Bye. Merry Christmas.”
“Same to you, see you whenever.” She called after us. “Bye Teddy.” She laughed finally getting to see me.
“Is it bad to have all the blood rushing to your head for a long period of time?” I asked, basically ignoring El, not on purpose… alright it was sorta on purpose but I was generally thinking it.
“I don’t think.” He stopped in his tracks.
“Chop, chop, pork chop!”
“Hey!” He boosted me again and made me yelp. “You pretty much just called me fat.”
“Sorry.” I giggled. “Why’d you stop?”
“Because your mum just called.
“My favourite people!” I yelled and ran, with open arms, for Daisy and Phoebe, who were playing out in the snow.
“Hey!” Lou scoffed.
“Shut up, you know it’s true.” I winked at him as I hugged the two cold, very cold twins. “How have you two been?”
“Good!” They smiled.
“Awesome looking snowman, girls.” I appraised them.
“I did the bottom all by myself!” Phoebs jumped.
“Oh did you now?” I raised an eyebrow and looked surprise. “That’s a big bottom.” I smirked and looked over at their brother. “It reminds me of someone I know.”
“What has gotten into you?” He looked at me like I was mad.
“Like I said, I’m happy.” I shrugged then looked back at the girls. “Tomorrow, wanna make a snow fort?”
“Tomorrow’s my birthday.” Lou whined walking over to us.
“What do you want to do? Stay inside all day and cuddle?” I asked and when he started to nod, I added, “With mummy?” And he growled, picked up some snow and threw it at me. “Louis!”
“You’ve been teasing me all day, Parker!” He smiled picking up more snow and started to run as he balled it up.
“Girls, go get Fizz and Lottie and tell them war has started early this year.” I said not taking my eyes off of my laughing boyfriend.
“Don’t puncture our snowman.” Daisy warned, finger pointed at me and all. “What will happen if he gets hurt, you won’t wanna know.”
“Hahah! My little sister just told you off!” Louis laughed.
“I’m talking to you too!” She turned around quickly and pointed a finger at him. “Don’t tempt me, Tomlinson.”
“Ha!” I laughed pointing at him. “Your little sister just told you off!”
“Whatever.” He rolled his eyes. “Come get me.” He winked, threw a snowball at me and ran.
“Missed!” I yelled, grabbed some snow and went around the opposite side of the house he went.
“You won’t get me!” He yelled. Sorta-ish far away. “I bet you can’t find me” He sang, again, sorta-ish far away. “Bear!”
“Ah!” I screamed and turned around to get a face full of snow.
“I hate you.” I mumbled wiping my face.
“Aw, babe, I’m sorry.” He laughed walking closer to me.
“Now my face is numb.” I pouted. “And you gave me a heart attack.”
“I’m sorry, Bear.” He frowned grabbing the back of my neck slightly as his other hand came up to brush snow off my face. But dudes, I’m Teddy Parker. I got tricks.
“You owe me something.” I smiled patting my lips with my mittens.
“That seems fair.” He smiled leaning in just to get a face full of snow as well.
“Payback's a bitch!” I giggled running away, but I’m not the fastest runner and he knows that, so he caught me quickly and threw us to the ground. “Ompfh. I’m glad the snow is cushiony.” I giggled.
“Now my face is numb.” He laughed grabbing snow and tried to smash it into my face.
“No!” I yelled with loud giggles. “Babe, stop!”
“Truce?” He laughed rolling me underneath him.
“Truce.” I nodded and laid back. I’m cold, out of breath and numb. I’m like a fat arse. “Whew.”
“You okay?” He laughed pushing some of my hair off of my face.
“Yeah.” I smiled looking at the sky. “God, I miss this place.”
“I miss that.” He said which made me look at him.
“You smiling.” He smiled.
“At the moment, I have everything to smile about.” I shrugged looking back up.
“Are you going to go see your parents?” He asked.
“We should come back out here tonight and watch the stars.” I completely ignored him, which caused him to sigh and straddle me.
“Babe?” He pushed at the subject. “We can go over now, if you want?”
“I don’t want to see them, Louis.” I shook my head and tried to push him off me, but he just pushed me back into the snow. “Get off.”
“They’re your parents, Teddy.” He whispered. “Be the bigger person and see what they want.”
“I don’t care what they want.” I choked up some as I looked him straight in the eye.
“Bear, they might apologise and explain that they over reacted.” He rushed and kissed my nose. “Let’s just go over. We don’t have to stay long, just hear what they have to say.”
“No.” I growled and actually pushed him off me this time and got to my feet.
“Teddy, stop.” He begged grabbing my hand and pulled me back down to my knees in front of him. “Call them at least?”
“No.” I shook my head forcefully.
“Teddy, they’re your parents, they’re supposed to piss you off and yell at you from time to time because that’s what they’re supposed to do.” He ranted. “Call them, then let’s go ov… ompfh!”
“Hahahahah!” I laughed as the girls all came at Louis with snowballs. This is so freaking great.
“Girls! No!” He yelled falling onto his back. “We were in a serious conversation!”
“You can continue after we kick your bum.” Lottie giggled sprinkling snow in his face.
“Teddy, help me!” He begged with a laugh.
“No, I’m just going to stand back and watch this.” I giggled recording everything on my phone.
“Ah!” He shrieked like a little girl. “Don’t put snow down my shirt, Daisy!”
“You threw a snowball at Teddy.” She stuck her hip out and looked at him, and I, well I lost it.
“She’s been teasing me.” He whined.
“I’m your girlfriend, that’s my job.” I giggled walking over to them and laid down beside him. “Girls, time to stop. He’s old.”
“Dude, you’ll be 22 tomorrow. You’re old.” I giggled as Fizzy took my phone out of my hands and continued to record us.
“Don’t drop that.” Lou warned looking up at her.
“I’m not an idiot, idiot.”
“Teddy, stop corrupting my sisters, please.” He sighed laying back and smiled as the twins and Lottie laid down and looked up at the sky with us.
“So how is everyone?” Fizzy asked walking in a circle around us.
“Cold.” I responded.
“Happy.” Lottie giggled.
“Can I eat this?” Phoebe asked, making us all laugh.
“Are you talking about the snow?” Lou laughed.
“Yeah. Can I?”
“Only if it’s not yellow.” I giggled, causing everyone else to giggle.
“Girls?!” Jay yelled.
“Did you tell her we were here?” I looked over at Lou.
“No, we haven’t gone inside yet.” He nervously laughed.
“Wher… when did you two get here?” Jay stopped whenever she saw all of us, minus Fizzy, laying in the snow.
“I don’t know.” Lou shrugged sitting up. “We got into a little snowball fight.”
“And I needed backup, so I recruited the girls.” I smiled proudly at myself.
“Well anyways, all of you come inside and get warm, dinner’s almost ready.” She faintly smiled at us.
“What’s wrong?” Lou asked standing up quickly.
“Nothing to say in front of everyone.” She replied looking at me. “C’mon, get inside. All of you.”
