The incident
They closed the door. A few minutes went by of me just staring at the wall before Alex spoke up. "Someone fancies a pop star!" Alex teased me. I didn't say anything nor look away from the wall. What just happened exactly? "Izzy? Iz? Snap out of it!" She said snapping her fingers. I sighed. "What has gotten into you? Was it really that terrible to be that close to Niall Horan?" She asked confused. I don't know how to explain it but..... I felt somethin. And I know I did.
It was like someone pushing me into the ocean when I couldn't swim. Like being in the eye of a hurricane. Like getting high for the first time. I don't know how but for those 4 seconds I felt like someone replaced my shattered heart with some kind of firework. When he whispered those words in my ear the firework went off. But when he stepped back the firework went out and that feeling of heartbreak wouldn't let go without a fight.
"Izzy you have been sitting there like an idiot for 15 minutes. Are you okay?" Alex asked. I weakly smiled. "Never better!" I lied. "If ya say so!" Alex said falling back asleep. I should probably sleep too. It's 1:34 am. I thought to myself while looking at the clock.
~Next Morning~ :D
I awoke to the sunlight peeping through the blinds. I sat up and saw Alex's made bed and the door closed shut. This was it. My chance to finally be alone! I took the advantage to take a shower and get dressed. I walked to the kitchen and made me some toast hoping I wouldn't see Niall. And thankfully, I didn't. I don't know why but something in me told me that talking to Niall is the wrong thing to do. Even if I did it would be awkward. The kiss with Zayn was awkward but it was a kiss of revenge so that he would leave me alone. This isn't how Niall's kiss should be tho. Wait a second...... Did I just say that I wanted to kiss Niall? I laughed to myself at the thought and shook my head. No Izzy you don't. Do you?
"What's so funny?" Alex asked looking in the fridge. "Just thinking." I said as I put my toast on a plate. "Well I'm bored you wanna go do something?" Alex poured orange juice in a glass. "Lexi it's morning!" I said. "No you just slept in late. Its 2:00 in the afternoon." She said taking a sip of her drink. "Oh.... Dang." I said. "Yep!" Alex said sitting down beside me at the table. Suddenly someone walked through the kitchen door. "Hey Harry." Alex said. "Hey Alex. Hey Sleeping Beauty." He said while starting to make a sandwich. "Shut up." I mumbled. "Ya wanna go to the mall or something?" I asked Alex. "Mall sounds nice." She shrugged. I nodded and put my plate in the sink. "Omg! I love the mall! Let's like... All go! It'll be totally fun!" Harry said bouncing around and fake giggling in a high pitch. "Harry unless you have womanly hormones and are gay, get out!" Alex said annoyed. "No thanks, Alexandria." He said emphasizing Alexandria. Oh crap.
Alex put her head down and walked out of the kitchen. "Thanks alot, Harry!" I said about to punch him. "All I said was Alexandria!?" He said. "That's right Harry! All you did say was Alexandria!" I shouted. I ran out of the kitchen and looked for Alex. I found her in our bedroom. "Shh... It's ok. Just forget about it." I said sitting down beside her in the corner. "How am I supposed to forget!?" She said through tears. "Well I'm not sure.... You never really told me." I said innocently. It's true she never said anything about it. Just that she hated being called by her real name. She managed to stop crying and started talking.
"Well when I was 6 I was climbing a tree. I fell down from the top and broke my left leg and fractured my right leg. I had to get a wheel chair since I couldn't walk. I wasn't going to be able to walk for 6 months. But I lived with my father and my mom left us to date this 22 year old dude. My dad blamed me for my mom leaving us. So he abused me." She paused. "In the middle of the night he would steal my wheelchair and in the morning I wouldn't be able to move. So he would yell at me and say 'Stop faking it you CAN do it' and start throwing things at me to get me to move and start walking. But I couldn't. Every night he would tease me. He had his own nickname for me." She said. God I didn't know it was that bad. Her dad really is stupid. "He called me Alex-CAN-dria." She said starting to cry again.
"I'm so sorry babycakes!" I said trying to make her feel better. "Your dad sucks in my opinion. Like he sucks so bad I don't even think it's called sucking." I said. She chuckled a little. "See, cheer up! Harry didn't know it's not the idiot's fault." I said. She started to smile a little. "Ok." Alex mumbled. "I'll make sure no one calls you that. Ever. Again. If they do they'll have to deal with me!" I said rubbing her back. She stood up and wiped her face dry. "Thanks." She said.
