Try and Keep Me Down
Three
I sigh as I get off the bed, looking around the room once more. I had been in here for what seemed like hours with nothing to do. Needless to say, I was in desperate need of entertainment.
I mentally scroll through my Ipod playlist, trying to think of something to sing.
Smiling, I begin humming the guitar part to “You Give Love a Bad Name”.
“Shot through the heart and you’re to blame. Darling, you give love a bad name.” I sing, moving my hips to the imaginary beat.
“An angel’s smile is what you sell. You promised me heaven then put me through hell. Chains of love got a hold on me. Passions is a prison you can’t break free. Oh, you’re a loaded gun. Oh, there’s nowhere to run. No one can save me the damage you’ve done.” I start head banging to the guitar riff, mimicking the chords you would play on an actual guitar. I’m okay at electric guitar, but acoustic is where my heart is.
“I play my part, and you play your game. You give love a bad name.” I dance wildly, doing some turns I learned from when I was on my school’s dance team.
“Alright rockstar, let’s go.” I shriek at the sound of the voice, turning to face it. Oh. It’s just Niall. The thought brings a giggle to my lips. It wasn’t just Niall. This is one of the men that took me from my home, my family, and everything I’ve ever known.
“Go where?” I ask, cheeks still flushed from being caught in the middle of that.
“To the kitchen. You have to be hungry. It’s been a while since you’ve eaten.”
My eyebrows furrow in confusion. These guys were definitely weird kidnappers. Not that I minded, I’d rather have weird over abusive any day.
“Zayn will like you a little more.” Niall states, interrupting my train of thought.
“What?”
“No one here really likes old rock music.”
“It’s not old, it’s timeless.” I snap. I stop walking, excepting him to retaliate in some way.
To my surprise, he just laughs, patting me on the back.
“That sounds like something Zayn would say.”
So weird.
We arrive to the kitchen and I pause, looking at the four other boys at the table. Looking at them now, they certainly didn’t seem like people who would kidnap innocent nineteen year old girls.
I guess looks can be deceiving.
