With a tight grip
Chapter 3
The bell rang as Lindsey and I scrambled into our seats for home room. The thought of the group of boys was playing in slow motion as they walked. Most of my attention was brought onto Lindsey as she was already snoring. We were in brutal Mr. Slomi's class. He spoke like a second grader. The wisp didn't help either.
Most of our teachers here weren't the most exciting, but back in Georgia, they at least had crazy county facts of the day... The life. "Brianna! I see your daydreaming again, why don't you answer number two on the bored? Hmm?" I stared around to ask Lindsey, but her drool showed me she had no clue!
"Yeah, Mr. -" I got cut off to the sound of the classroom door opening. The principal signaled the teacher into the hall for a chat. You could hear the sigh when he left. I decided to stand up and I manages to say "Can anyone help me-" the door re- opened and I turned quickly to see two gentlemen's chests in my face. "Find, the answer. " The taller man was the school counselor Mr. Zuckerman. He scrunched his finger and lead me to his office. We stopped outside of his door where he asked me an unusual question.
"Now, Brianna, I'm going to trust that you WILL NOT scream when I open this door?" As I raised an eyebrow I nodded at the same time. Okay. What is going on? My heart raced as he reached for the door knob. I had no idea what was on the other side of that door, not to mention that could make someone scream!
I saw a crack inside his office but I couldn't help it! I covered my eyes quickly! I felt a secure hug in front of me. "It's okay. Love, we aren't going to hurt you." A soft voice spoke as I shook my head. Eyes closed, I uncovered my eyes. A tear of excitement fell down my cheek! WHAT? These people must think I'm some baby now! "Mr. Zuckerman, did we do something?" A different yet familiar voice spoke as the hugger let me go. I opened my eyes to see who these people were.
