EXTRAordinary-A Harry Styles Story
Chapter 6
And this is where I wake up from my dream… it has to be.. One Direction can NOT be here. That’s the band Harry’s in.. “Hey guys, thank you so much for having us. We really didn’t plan on coming here until last minute. We won’t be performing or anything, just hanging out having a good time. If you want to take pictures and chat, feel free to come up to us.” says one of the band members. Man, I really need to learn their names. I’m all the way in the back of the club so I don’t have a good view of the stage. Sunny. She probably did this. I know Tristen didn’t because she doesn’t know about the Harry incident. I was gunna tell her, but as soon as I brought up 1D, she showed me her life-sized Niall poster. Definitely not a good move. So I promised Sunny not to tell her and til this day she still doesn’t know. Oh my gosh, I wonder how Tristen is reacting right now. Knowing her, she’s probably recovering from a panic attack. I get up to go demand that they take me home. They aren’t where they were. I look down to the bottom level and I swear there are more than 200 people grinding all over each other on the dance floor. How in the world am I gunna find them in here?!
I walk around for a little bit. I notice a few guys walk over to me. “Hey babe, why you all alone?” “Yeah, let us keep you company.” They get close enough for me to smell the alcohol on their breath. “Um, how about no?” I try to walk away but one of them grabs me by the arm. “It wasn’t a suggestion, it was a statement.” I attempt to break free of the guys grip on me, but it’s no use. It only hurts worse. I yelp, “OW, let go of me you pig.” “Not until you let us have some fun with you.” They start dragging me to a corner of the club. My eyes are flooded with tears. I can’t make out how many of them there are. Next thing I know I feel a pair of hands violating me. Since I’m in a dress, the hands slip up my thighs. Another pair of hands reach up and start pulling my hair. By now I’m panting. I have asthma and I can feel an asthma attack building up in my chest. I’m basically paralyzed by fear. Reality finally catches up with me and I start screaming at the top of my lungs. A hand forcefully slams up to my mouth to keep me quiet. “Shut up before we hurt you.” Well, gee, it’s not like you’re NOT already hurting me, I think to myself.
“What’s going on here?!” says a voice from a distance. I see a body guard approaching us. The guys start to scatter away. He comes up and notices I can barely breathe and that my face is drenched in tears. “Woah. Sweet heart, are you okay?!” “I – I am n-n-ow. Those-“ deep breathe. “guys were try-“ deep breathe. “-ing to hurt me.” I finally finish. “Let’s get you out of here. I’m sorry I let them get away. They should really be charged with sexual assault.” he says to me. I just nod my head. I can’t believe that happened. “Sweet heart, please stop crying. You’re safe now.” I didn’t even realize I was still crying. “Did you come here alone?” he asks me. I shake my head. “Okay, well, we definitely won’t find them walking through this crowd. Just follow my lead.” We start walking to the back of the club. By now, I’ve zoned everything out. I start replaying the situation in my head. I was almost raped. Raped. My emotions get the best of me and I start crying up a storm. I didn’t realize where I was following the body guard and notice we’re on stage now. He tells me to stand off to the side. He walks up to the mic and the music stops. The entire club is now filled with confusion. He talks into the mic, “Whoever came with this young lady tonight needs report to the side of the stage. Immediately.” He walks towards me and starts caressing my arm, “It’s gunna be okay. Please stop crying. You’re worrying me.” He says. I jump away from his touch. Way too soon to be touched. “OHMYGOSH.” “WHATTHEFUCKHAPPENEDCARTER?!” I see Sunny running to me. I run to her and start sobbing in her arms. The body guard answers her instead, “I heard a scream and walk over to the sound and find about 4 or 5 guys trying to force themselves on her. I didn’t see the entire incident, but they did some damage to your friend. She hasn’t stopped crying.” “WHAT? DID YOU FUCKIN’ CATCH THE GUYS?!” “Sadly no, I was so worried about your friend that the cowards ran off. I didn’t get a good look at any of them. I’m so sorry” he replies back to Sunny. “Carter! Sunny! What’s going on?!” asks Tristen while running up to us. “I can see that you guys will handle this from here. Again ma’am, I’m so sorry I didn’t get those pervs. But you’re safe now” and with that he walks away. “What does he mean pervs?! Carter, what happened?!” Sunny explains to Tristen and once she’s done they both embrace me in the tightest hug. “We are SO sorry that happened to you. I promise to never leave you alone at a club again!!” says Tristen. “ARE YOU CRAZY TRISTEN, WE’RE NEVER GOING TO ANOTHER CLUB!” says Sunny. We start walking to club entrance to leave when Tristen says she has to pee. “Okay, we’ll be here” replies Sunny. She turns to me. “Hey babe, are you sure you’re okay? You haven’t said a single word and you’re shaking.” I shake my head and start tearing up. “I just w-want to go ho—home.” I reply back shakily. “Okay, once Tristen gets back, we’ll get you home. Safe in your bed, babe.” “Carter!” I hear his voice. “I saw you on stage and came looking for you.” I completely forgot that he and the band were here. I shut my eyes and wish that this is all a dream. I can’t see him. Not now. Not after all these months of trying to reach him and the one time I’m a mess he somehow shows up out of thin air. “Harry! What in the world are you and the boys doing here?!” asks Sunny. Is she serious?! She planned this out. “Are you kid-d-ding me Sunny?” That took a lot of breath to say. But I’m so angry. “Woah. Carter, what are you talking about? I had NO idea they were gunna be here tonight.” Okay, I need to take a HUGE deep breath for this. “Oh, okay. Because One Direction randomly showing up at a club that we happen to be at ISN’T a coincidence at all. This is all YOUR fault. I wouldn’t have been ALMOST raped if we weren’t here. At this stupid club that YOU brought me to.” By now I’m crying because I know it’s not her fault that I almost got raped and by the look on her and Harry’s face they have no clue what I’m talking about. Great, I’ve made a fool of myself again to Harry. I run out of the club and Harry’s hand catches my wrist. It flashes me back to the guys trying to hurt me. “LET ME GO.” I scream at the top of my lungs. I start running like theres no tomorrow. Like I’m at rugby practice and I have to beat my previous running time. After about 5 minutes of running, I decide to slow down. After about 45 minutes of walking, I decide to catch a cab because I’m completely lost.
I get home and see that the girls still aren’t home yet. I walk straight to my bed and cry myself to sleep.
I wake up and I know I’ve overslept because the sun is so bright. I look over and see the beds next to me empty. Did they ever even come home? Worry starts to flood me. Then I see a note on my desk. I walk over and open it up:
“Hey Carter, sorry for everything. Me and Sunny have already left for class. You looked so peaceful that we didn’t want to wake you. After what you went through last night, we knew you needed a day off. We’ll be back later to check up on you. We need to talk about what happened last night. Sunny has been really quiet ever since you ran out of the club. She just said that you ran into an old flame and you freaked out and left. Help me get my facts straight later. But for now just get better. Love you!
P.S. Sunny left a piece of paper under this note for you.
-T.”
I set the note down and see a strip of paper folded up. I reach for it and unfold it.
“cute, coffee guy’s number:
313-645-7899”
I gasped.
