EXTRAordinary-A Harry Styles Story
Chapter 5
Well, three months. That's how long it's been since the arena incident. I've basically came to a conclusion that it's hopeless to even try to get in touch with Harry. Sunny and Ginger tweet him every other day, but it's useless. (I don't have any social media though, it's always been pointless to me.) He's famous. Of course I can't just google his number.
"Carter, hurry up or we'll be late for class." says Sunny. "Alright alright, I'm coming."
"You know, I thought starting college was gunna be so awesome. But it's sucked so much knowing that you aren't completely happy." "What do you mean?" I ask her. "What I mean is, I know you still think about Harry. You don't let me talk about him and you avoid magazine racks when we're in the check-out lane." "Look, I appreciate you looking out for me. But I'm fine. I'm just homesick, that's why I haven't been myself. We just started college somewhere we don't know and we're 2,000 miles away from home. I'm not gunna lie though, it does suck about what happened with Harry. But I can't just mope around waiting for him to come to our dorm and sweep me off my feet. Because we BOTH know that's not gunna happen." She rolls her eyes. We both know I'm not fooling her. She's just about to say something when Tristen calls our name. "Hey guys, thanks for waiting on me." "Sorry Tristen, you were in the shower and we didn't want to be late for class. I can't afford to be late." says Sunny. Tristen is Sunny and I's roommate. We met her at orientation during the summer and we all basically clicked. "Yeah Tristen, you've made us late 3 times this WEEK." I say to her. "Yeah yeah. Anyways, did you guys finish the reading? I was reading the last ten pages and fell asleep. Can you please fill me in?" Sunny and I look at each other. I say to Sunny "It's your turn. I filled her in last time." All of us have different majors. Sunny's is dental hygiene. Tristen's is public relations. And mine, well, I'm still undecided. But we all have basic classes together. We made sure we were gunna be in the same speech, reading, and calculus class together. By the time Sunny finishes explaining to Tristen, we arrive to class.
I’m walking back from class by myself because Sunny and Tristen wanted to grab something to eat. I’ve been on a diet lately and the campus food is basically junk that I don’t need. Since this school doesn’t offer rugby, I haven’t been as active. So I’m watching what I eat. I gained a little bit of weight over the summer because all I did was go out to eat and party. While I’m walking I hear a couple of girls a little bit in front of me gossiping away their heads. I don’t really pay attention until I hear one of the girls say Harry’s name. Now they’ve got my attention. “Can you believe it? He deserves so much better than that hoe.” Another girl in their group speaks up, “I think it’s a publicity stunt.” “So you think the pictures of her in his t-shirts, the endless late night ‘get togethers’, and the hickeys on her neck in pictures are publicity stunts? Look, here’s a picture of them holding hands and there’s a clear shot of a hickey on her neck.” one of the girls says while showing her phone screen. Now I know why I’ve been avoiding anything related to Harry. It hurts knowing he doesn’t even think about me when he’s all I think about. And to think he ‘fancied’ me. I walk back to my dorm room and decide to take a nap. I have insomnia so I have to take sleeping pills to be able to sleep. Where are they?! I can’t find them.. UGHH. Today can’t get any worse. I get on my phone and start going through my pictures, hoping that I’ll somehow fall asleep. I start getting to the pics from the beginning of summer and I wanna start crying. I miss my home so much. I scroll through and run across one with me and Amy. After the incident she caused, I guess she never felt like she needed to apologize. I wasn’t mad at her or anything, but an apology definitely was needed. And I wasn’t gunna be the one to do it first. I hear that her and Ginger are hanging out again. Good for them. I don’t want to be the reason to tear apart a friendship.
“Carter, wake up.” I feel someone shaking me. My eyes flutter open. I see Tristen. “Oh hey Tristen, did I fall asleep? What time is it?” I ask. “It’s almost 7 pm. Member, you said last week we’d go to the club since I’m legal now. Get up and get dressed. We leave in 20 minutes.” “Ugh. Okay.” I did promise Tristen that.
Thank goodness I’ve never been one of those girls to take long to get ready. I braid my hair in a somewhat elegant way and then put on a dress that Sunny let me borrow.

“Alright, lets go girls!” yells Sunny. We all walk outside to Tristen’s car and pile in. “Okay, rule for tonight. So, whoever sees a cute guy first and calls dibs, gets him. Okay?” explains Tristen. I roll my eyes. “Just go already.” says Stevie. We drive for about 30 minutes until we reach the club. It’s called Club La Vela. Apparently it’s so hot that you have to make months reservation. But Tristen has hookups, like always. The place is huge. I can tell it’s 2 stories big. We’re walking in the entrance and I already see drunk, sloppy girls everywhere. I really hope Sunny and Tristen don’t end up like that tonight. I know for a fact I don’t have to worry about myself. Pigs would fly before I learned how to let loose and have fun. Last time I tried, well, it ended up being a disaster. I still have a small scar from wear a face planted the edge of the stage.
Sunny and Tristen order some drink that sounds like it would be a strippers name. “Here Carter, a NON-alcoholic drink that’s NOT water.” Sunny hands me the drink. “Thanks.” Since Sunny got it for me, I know it’s not a trick. If it was Tristen though, I would’ve hesitated. That girl is always trying to get me into trouble. Me and the girls find a place to hang out on the second level. “Can I get you pretty ladies a drink?” I tell the girls I’m gunna go find a cute guy to dance with (when we all know that’s a lie) and just walk away letting either Sunny or Tristen have him. I look around for a place to sit and the only empty seat is next to the bathroom. Great.
I head over to the bathroom and hear someone talk into a microphone. “All you lucky people out there tonight, are ya’ll having fun?!” Everyone in the club slur out a yes. “Like I said, you guys are lucky people. Because we have some very special guests in the building tonight. Many of you guys have heard of them, please give a warm welcome to ONE DIRECTION.” WHAT?!
