My second surprise was pottery making. Sunny and I had always wanted to do this back when we were still in high school, but we never got the chance. I was making a plate while Sunny and Tristen were trying to make a bowl. They were struggling while I was almost done with mine. I smirked. “I’ve had the best day ever. Thank you guys so much.” “Well, I’m glad you’re enjoying this. Because I’m about to give up on this dog shit lookin thing.” says Tristen. “Hahaha. I told you that a bowl was gunna be harder than a plate.” “Whatever. I’m just gunna go buy a plate if I want one.” says Sunny.

The last thing the girls planned for me is.. well, we’re on the way to it right now. I’m really nervous.
We pull up to a parking lot. It’s almost midnight now so I can’t really see the setting. We step out and I feel a blind fold being put on me. “What the hell! I can’t see!” “Good! Just follow my guide.” I feel a hand grab my arm and lead me somewhere. We walk for about 5 minutes and then I start to feel sand in my shoes. Are we at the beach?! I feel us stopping and in within seconds the blindfold is off.
“SURPRISE!” yells everyone. When I say everyone, I mean EVERYONE. Sunny, Tristen, Louis, Zayn, Liam, Niall, and a few people from my classes. “Oh my gosh.” I start crying and they all come give me a group hug. There’s a huge fire and 2 coolers set up. The beach is about 2 feet away. It looks perfect.

“I can’t believe you guys planned all this.” I say speechless. “We wanted to make your last day here memorable. We’re really going to miss you.” says Tristen. “Yeah. We’re really g-going to-” Sunny tries to choke out. She starts crying. “Awh Sunny. Come here!” I embrace her in a hug. “You know that NO ONES going to replace you in my heart. You’re my best friend.” She sobs into my shoulder even more. I look to Tristen for some support. “Yeah. Even I know that you guys have a bond that no one could ever break. You won’t go through this alone, you have me.” Tristen says. Sunny calms a little bit and smiles at us. “You guys are the best. Let’s just have some fun tonight and worry about all the tears tomorrow.” “Deal.” I say. I hear someone call Sunny’s name and she goes over to them. I’ve been wanting to ask Tristen this ever since we got here… “So.. um..” “I know you’re wondering about Harry. I tried. I really did. I’m sorry.” My spirits lower. “It’s okay. I’m happy and that’s all that matters. Are you okay though? I know it can’t be easy seeing Niall tonight.” “I’m holding up a lot better than I thought I was gunna.” “That’s good babe. You know I’m always gunna be a phone call away.” “Yeah. I know. Let’s go enjoy the party.”
“Hey Car!” I turn and see Louis. “Hey Louis! Thanks so much for coming!” “Wouldn’t miss it for the world. We had a couple days off anyways, so it worked perfectly! I know things have been rough lately between you and Harry, but we’re still friends, right?” He looks at me pleadingly. “Of course Louis!” He lets out a breath that I didn’t know he was holding. “Okay, good. And I’m sorry that Harry couldn’t come. We really didn’t push him to come, I didn’t want you to be upset if you saw him.” “I wouldn’t have been upset. I actually would’ve been happy. I’ve been meaning to talk to him. I realized that I was selfish and only thought about how Harry was gunna hurt me but I didn’t even think about his feelings. I also realized that I want to be with him, for as long as possible. I realized all this a little too late though.” I chuckle a little. “But enough about Harry, how’s the tour?” “It’s awesome!! We’re meeting so many lovely fans. You know we’re actually in London for the rest of our days off. We won’t be on the same flight tomorrow though.” “I’m glad to hear that you’re enjoying yourself on tour. And maybe we’ll run into each other in London.” I look out to the ocean. It looks gorgeous. “I kinda wanna go swim.” says Louis. “I do too!” said a few other voices nearby us. People start running to the waters and Sunny looks back and sees me still sitting down near the fire. “You coming Car?” “No, I’m cold. I’m just gunna stay by the fire.” “Okay, suit yourself.” She says and runs to the water. I yell to the people in the water, “DON’T GET EATEN BY A SHARK.” I chuckle at my own joke. Man, I really miss Harry. I can’t help but think how tonight would’ve been a little better with him here. I pull out my phone and decide to text him.
“missed u tonight. understood ur reasoning tho. be safe on the tour. love you.”

Everyone dries off and sits by the fire. It feels so nice to be with everyone that makes me happy.
“Here’s to Car going to London” Louis says loud enough for everyone to hear while raising his drink. “CHEERS.”


My alarm goes off and I see that it’s 6 am. Today’s the day… The day I leave everyone and everything I love behind and start a new chapter in my life. I see that the girls are starting to wake up too. I get off my bed and take the sheets off and fold it. I put them into my duffle bag. I walk into the bathroom and freshen up. I return to the room and see Tristen and Sunny waiting for me. Looking at them just makes my heart hurt. “You guys!!” I run over and hug them. We all start silently crying. We stay like this for a while. “We’ll call, text, and email every day!” I tell them. “Don’t forget facetime!” says Tristen. “That too!” I say. The rest of the morning goes by in a blur. Next thing I know, I’m about to go pass security and head towards my gate. I set my bags down and turn to look at the girls. We all look like a mess. Puffy, swollen eyes and pajamas on. “All passengers boarding Flight 111 to London, England should report to Gate A in 15 minutes.” says the intercom. “I guess this is goodbye.” I say sadly. “NO! Not goobye. Just a see you later.” says Tristen. I roll my eyes. I’m really going to miss her being so silly. I hug her. I whisper in her ear, “Remember, I’m only a phone call away if you need to talk about ANYTHING.” I was hinting towards Niall. I let go and she nods. I face Sunny and see that she is holding back the tears. I hug her so tightly. “We’ll talk every day, okay? It’ll be like nothing ever changed!” I pull back and look at her and Tristen. “I love you guys both. Please have fun this semester, okay?” “We’ll try.” sniffles Sunny. “I’m serious guys. I don’t want you guys to miss out on things because of me. Promise me?” “Promise.” They both whisper in unison. “Come here and give me one more hug.” I embrace them and close my eyes to remember this moment. “Wait!” says Tristen. I pull back and look at her. We have something for you. Sunny pulls out a wrapped gift and hands it to me. “Don’t open it until you get take off. Okay?” “Alright. I solemnly swear that I won’t open it until the plane takes off.” “We need a picture of all of us.” says Tristen. She stops some random stranger and they take a picture of me and Sunny together, me and Tristen together, and one last one of all of us together. “Okay, well. I’ve gotta go now. I love you guys so much. I’ll call when I land.” “Okay. We love you. Now go before you miss your flight.” I go through security smoothly and look back at them one more time. “BYE GUYS. I LOVE YOU.” I yell at them. They laugh at me. “BYE. LOVE YOU TOO.” They yell back. And I can see Sunny start crying and Tristen comforting her. I turn away before I start crying too. I start walking. Walking towards this new adventure in my life.
