Teenage drama
chapter 2
“Mum, I wanna move out,” I had to get it over and done with. Mums face turned from a cheeky peach to a pale white. “I’m sorry but this is what I want. I wanna move to the U.S and start over. Where no one knows my flaws.”
“But, why? I-I-I…” she stumbled over her foot and fell over. I helped her gain her balance and whispered,
“I told you, I would like a new start. Hey! I could take my dancing career to new level. Oh and I’m taking Rachel with me. Maybe I could up do her talent too.” She lost consciousness there and so I made her lunch: Chicken and stuffing sandwich, Prawn cocktail crisps, Topic bar and ten strawberries. I made mum a cup of tea; two sugars, as usual. After I moved mum onto the couch and set lunch out, he came downstairs. “About bloody time,” I muttered. “At least you’re dressed.”
“Good morning!” he said in his normal cheery, fake, way. “WHAT HAPPENED?” he shrieked noticing mum on the sofa.
“Mum fainted because I told her I wanted to move away. Are you going to pass out to?” I spoke quickly. He chuckled, it wasn’t a joke. Mums eyes fluttered open and we both crowded around her. “Mum?” I breathed, “Are you okay?”
“What happened? All I remember is you telling me you’re moving…” I hushed her and gave her a cuddle. “Your 18 and we are still hugging!” she chuckled and sat up.
“I made lunch for you, mum, and your favorite chocolate bar is added in!” I skipped to the wooden table and brought it to her. “My suitcase is packed, I have tickets, and I’m going today. Sorry. Rachel is coming around in…Oh what’s the time?”
“1.40 in the afternoon.” Someone replied.
“20 minutes then. Come on mum don’t cry. This is what is best for me. For my life.” Mum was sobbing but Rachel’s mum wasn’t too bad.
