chapter 14

Sadly, Blue ended up being a pile of ash with the other victims. Jane had admitted that she shouldn’t have used full strength but that she was only trying to protect me. Whereas Blue refused to admit what she did was wrong and Aro said, “Blue, we do not have the space and time for liars and rows like you and this. You either admit it or not. There will be a consequence either way.” Blue still said not guilty and her charge-because everyone knew she was lying-was death. Her last breath was taken away as her head came off first. I closed my eyes, not willing to watch anymore. The cackles of flames were all I could hear after 10 seconds. I felt so sorry for Felix, I mean his partner just died and it’s my entire fault. Felix didn’t look too glum; he was probably glad Blue died after all, again, he had taken a shine to me and Blue did try to kill me. It was a crazy solution but probable indeed. We were in Volterra at the moment, where the Voltori was originally made, and I wanted to explore the country a little more. “I would like permission to leave this castle to venture Volterra,” I said to Marcus.
“Granted, Corin, I would like you to go with Bree and explore Volterra please.” Marcus answered, UN expectedly. Volterra was amazing, lots of old fashioned, colossal buildings and a beautiful sky with only faint clouds. My throat didn’t burn while around humans, so it was easy to be the old me with them. Of course they id question the black cloaks and why we had our hood up.
“Oh it’s just religion. Weird right?” I would say to most of the time. The reason why our skin couldn’t touch the sun was because we sparkled. Our skin was like shards of glass under the brightest spark. If any human saw us then we would be under attack, and I would be dead. “I want to return, home.” I complained, fed up with having to repeat the same thing. Corin took my hand and we walked back. The only major thing that had happened between us was arm over shoulder or hold hands. Suddenly, Corin steered me into a shady place. It was dark and no one was here. If my heart was still beating, it would be pounding out of my chest. Corins lips crushed against mine and with no hesitation I kissed back. Our lips didn’t leave each others for a solid 10 minutes. Our eyes met each of our gazes and I felt weak in the knees. Corin kissed me again, but more passionately this time. My arms wrapped around his neck as Corin lifted me up.
“I love you,” he mumbled in-between kisses.
“I love you too,” I replied when I could. Corins lips moved down to my jaw bone and then my neck. Further and further down his lips traced my bones. “We should be getting back. Someone will come after us. Probably Felix!” I moaned.
“Don’t worry, we have a long time.” Corin answered.
