chapter 10

The masters gave me a black dress, cloak and shoes. “Put them on and come back when you’re ready.” Caius said in his harsh voice. Aros’ voice was precious and them Marcus’ voice was-plain. I did as he said in a matter of 3 seconds.
“Master, Mistress I have done as you have ordered. What is now my job?” I ask trying not to sound rude.
“We need to know your life, like how about your name.” A woman said and I just looked at her and nodded.
“My name is Bree; I was 17 when I was turned. A vampire named Riley created me; he said ‘Welcome to the army.’ I don’t know what that means but I came to find you and become one. How much more information do you wish for, Lords?” I informed myself Aro smiled and said,
“That is enough Bree. Please go and stand by Corin, the one who spoke earlier.” Marcus answered, speaking for the first time. I went to stand by the boy with chocolate brown hair.
“Bree that is a nice name, young one.” Corin said I smiled and said that Corin had a nice name too. “You must train now. You can only judge people; you can’t fight them off like Jane or Alec. That is next thing is to feed. Whenever it is a festival day like today, the day in red, we hunt. They should be here any minute.” Corin chuckled and I could feel that we would become good friends. Automatically, my hand reached out to find his doing the same thing. Our fingers twined together and I could hear low mummers behind us.
My eyes kept to the ground but I could feel Corins’ gaze burning a hole through my back. Our fingers didn’t let go of each other until the victims came. My hands dropped to my sides and I crouched. “Welcome humans. You are staring at the great rulers of Italy. Bianca, lock the doors,” Aro ordered. This must be the opening speech. “Welcome to your death.” Every single human started to scream in panic but five of them soon went quiet when they saw me. Uh-oh, the band people, I couldn’t kill them. I mean they were my best mate from school. No, I wouldn’t do that. I may not have remembered their names but they were in my faded memories.
“Corin, can you do me a favor and kill those five staring at us.” Corin nodded and slit their throats in seconds. I hadn’t realized but most of the other vampires had already drunk. I ran quickly, making the most of the lucky late survivors. When you are a newborn you are much stronger and faster, so this was a boost.
“What do we do with the bodies?” I questioned Corin.
“I’m not sure really. I think they get burned. Oh and by the way this goes on for tomorrow too.” He answered. In a sick, twisted way I felt so interested with my new, exciting life.
