Love Will Tell Us Where To Go

Chapter 45

“What do you think?” After searching a while, I finally think I found the perfect outfit for the concert. It’s my favorite little black dress. It’s dressy, but not too much. It has some studs and best of all, pockets! The sleeves are quarter length since it’ll be a bit chilly. I decided to go with my black high-top converse shoes for comfort and cuteness.

“You’re way too beautiful.”

I laughed as I asked, “That’s good, right?”

“Not if you catch one of the band members attention.” he said walking up to me. “But then again, you’d get their attention no matter what you’re wearing.”

“You’re looking pretty good yourself.” He really does. He’s wearing one of my favorite shirts of his. It’s black and has long sleeves. It has some buttons at the top, but he leaves them unbuttoned. His skinny jeans are black and his boots are brown. I also love when he wears that beanie.

“Why are you bringing that coat?” I asked. I love it, but I don’t think it’ll be that cold. Besides, he is wearing a long sleeve shirt.

“It gets colder at night.” he explained as he put on a necklace. “You’re going to be cold in that dress.”

“Yeah, yeah, whatever. Let’s go!” I exclaimed as I grabbed his hand and led us out of the room.

The venue was small but bigger than I had expected. The front part, the place we bought our tickets at, is a restaurant. You have to walk though that area to get to the back where it’s more like a regular venue.

We were taken to our seats. I knew we got great seats, but I was still amazed as we sat down in the fifth row in the middle. We’re also right in the middle of the row. Because this place is pretty small, all the seats are floor seats with a foldable chair.

While waiting for the opening act to come out, Harry and I took some pictures and texted the guys. It’s a little after six here, so that means it’s after eleven there.

Louis and Liam are super jealous because they’ve been fans as long as Harry. Although according to Louis he’s been a fan the longest. That caused a bit of an argument that turned out to be hilarious.

“Harry!” I exclaimed while hitting his arm. “Look! There’s the merchandise!”

“Let’s go blow our money!” he said as he got up and took my hand in his.

“Priorities.” I said with a smile.

Both of us bought a t-shirt. I got some bracelets and a phone case. Harry got a poster and guitar pick. We put all of our stuff in the purse I brought.

After the texting lessened, we talked to pass time. The closer to seven it got, the more excited we were.

We both had no idea who the opening act was, so we were both eager when the lights dimmed and shadowy figures emerged onto the stage.

The music started and some people began to cheer. The cheering grew louder as the music did. We had never heard of this band before or this song, but we loved both.

By the time the main band came out, the whole crowd was so pumped and excited. The cheering was much louder now. I took a moment to look around. Even if you aren’t a fan, I imagine the pure happiness in the room was contagious. Harry’s face was lit up with a huge smile.

We sang along to the songs and danced when possible. Sometimes I wouldn’t sing just to hear Harry better. I still can’t believe how long it took him to be comfortable to sing in front of me. He’s amazing. So are the rest of the guys. Heck, they’re good enough to be a band.

They would talk some in between songs, and one time the lead singer was taking about what a great crowd we are. Everyone cheered, but they got even louder when he asked if anyone wanted the guitar pick he had been using.

I cheered even though I knew I had no chance. Or so I thought. “Hey, you! Girl in the black dress!” he said pointing at me. I looked to Harry in shock. “Me?” I asked.

I looked back to see him talking to a guy off stage. He gave him the pick, and before I knew it, he was in front of me and handing it to me. “He wanted me to tell you that that’s a nice dress.” I could tell he felt awkward telling me that. I really wanted to laugh.

“Thank you so much. Tell him I said that!” He nodded and disappeared into the crowd. I jumped up and down (just a little) as I said, “Look! Look! Look what I got!”

“That’s so awesome! I can’t believe you got that!” he hugged me tightly before saying, “I guess you really got his attention.” he raised an eyebrow and gave me a funny stare.

“Yeah. I guess he did. Does that make you…worried?”

“Me? Worried? Please. As if you would want to date a guy in a band.”

“Oh really? Why wouldn’t I?”

“You know what they say about guys in bands. They’re all jerks. You definitely want to stay far away from them.”

“I’m so hungry!” The concert had ended at eleven, and we haven’t eaten since lunch.

“Me too. And I know the perfect place to eat at.”

“How many places are even open this late?” I asked as I put the key in the ignition.

“Oh my - I bet you’ve never done this before.”

“Probably.” I said with a laugh. “No friends and a complete loner, remember?”

“Sorry…have you ever been to a Waffle House?”

“I’ve heard of it but - “

“The boys and I have a tradition. After every concert we go to, we eat Waffle House afterwards.

It’s open 24 hours, so you don’t have to worry about what time it is. Plus, the food is amazing. Especially the waffles.”

Great food available at any time that’s not expensive? Sounds good to me.

We got there in a few minutes after looking up where the closest one is. There was only a few other people there. A group of five people around our age. Probably a few years older.

I got exactly what Harry got since this is my first time. It’s called the Breakfast All Star Special. We got two eggs, hashbrowns, toast, and bacon. And waffles of course. We also got blueberries on the waffles. All for $7.

“This food is so good!” I seriously don’t understand how I could have waited this long to go here.

“I told you!” he replied. “Man, this has been such an awesome night. Except for the post-concert depression. That sucks.”

“I know right? I hate this feeling. I mean, I’ve only been to one other concert by myself, but it’s even worse than I remember it.”

“I wonder how they feel.”

“What do you mean?”

“That’s their job…just concert after concert. That has to be unbelievably amazing. I mean seriously, that has to be the best job ever.”

He stared into the distance out the window. Sometimes I forget how much us leaving is going to effect his life. I try not too. But it is. I know he can just go back to school, but…I don’t know.

“Do you think I could do that?”

“Yes.” I answered without hesitation. The look of doubt and shock at my answer was clear on his face. “Thanks. But being realistic - "

“Being realistic, you are a talented, amazing, person who can do anything he wants to do if he tries.”

His face got red as he cracked a smile. “I don’t know…”

“Oh, and extraordinarily attractive. Can’t forget that.”

“But how would I even?” his voice faded, not even fully finishing the question, although I knew what he was asking.

“Seriously, Harry. You can do it. You really can.”

“How? Do you know how many other people want to do what I want to do?”

“Yes. I do. But do you know how many are as talented as you?”

“Talent has nothing to do with it. I mean, it does, but being talented doesn’t automatically mean you’re going to actually be successful. Do you know how many people deserve to be more well known but aren’t and vice versa?”

“I believe in you.”

He looked at me seriously for a few seconds before smiling. “You’re great, you know that?”

“I know. That’s my talent.”

I began to shiver. I started doing it more and more a few minutes ago. It had gotten cold outside, and it didn’t seem much warmer in here.

“Cold?” he asked with a smirk.

“Maybe. A little.”

“Stand up.” he said as he got out of his side of the booth. I knew what he was doing, and for a second I questioned if that was why he had brought the coat in the first place.

“Better?” he asked as we sat back down.

“Much. Have I ever told you that you’re the sweetest and best boyfriend ever? Because you are.”

“Hmm…it could be said a bit more.”

“I don’t know, though…don’t want you realizing that you could do better than me. Especially once you’re famous and have millions of girls dying to get your attention.”

He laughed before dramatically saying, “It’s my hair.”

“And everything else…” I mumbled before taking a sip of my drink.

The look he gave was hilarious. “What happened to not wanting me to have a huge ego?”

“Lost cause. You’re ridiculously attractive and you know it.”

“You are too. You just don’t know it.” he smiled sweetly before adding, “I mean, not that I know it, because I don’t think I am. I just mean that - “

“I know what you meant.”

He extended his hand across the table and held it open for me to hold. As soon as I did, he brought my hand towards him and kissed it.

“I could have a million girls chasing after me and the only person I would care about would still be you.”

“Really?”

“Really.”

“So you promise to never give someone in the crowd at your concert your guitar pick?”

“Never.”

“Hey, I thought you said I should stay away from guys in bands because they’re all jerks.”
He grinned as he said, “Well that’s different. When it comes to being a guy in a band, I plan on breaking the stereotypical mold.”

I held back laughing while I told him, “I’m sure you will.”

He smiled proudly and thanked me before realizing that what I said was a bit sarcastic.

He shook his head with disgust. “So rude..and after I gave you my coat too. You should be ashamed.”

“Oh, shut up. You know I love you. And I know you love me too.”

He glanced at me for a second before looking back out the window. “You don’t know that for sure. Maybe I’ve been faking it this whole time and I really just - oh, who am I kidding. I freaking love you to death.”

Despite the ever so painful post-concert depression, we both ended up falling asleep faster than normal. We slept great as well. I ended up having two different but both awesome dreams.

The first was that Harry was famous. Like, crazy famous. I was backstage at one of his concerts. The venue was huge. I could hear loud cheering as they waited for him to come out on stage. But before he did, he walked by me and gave me a kiss.

The second was similar to the first. I was again backstage at a huge venue and could hear the same massive cheering. Except this time Niall, Louis, Liam, and Zayn were there too. They (including Harry) huddled up before heading to the stage. Of course Harry kissed me first then too.

The rest of the dream was short and not much happened. Me and the rest of the guys girlfriends were watching them perform from the back. It felt so real. I could still feel how proud I was when I woke up.

I didn’t mention it to Harry or anyone else. Not because I thought my dreams were silly, but because I felt like now wasn’t the right time. It’ll be much more fun to tell them when those dreams are a reality.

Update.! Love this story.! :)

@iamsuchaoneDfan Aw, thank you very much! I'm so glad you like it so far. :)

I barely read the first chapter and I already love this story

@Nialls Girl_25_10 Good question! I honestly didn't think of that. I probably could have made it work, but the thing is, Niall is a senior in high school. I could have had him drop out like Harry but I really wouldn't have wanted to have him drop out too.

Thanks for asking! Sorry Niall isn't in it right now. But I can tell you that he'll be back eventually. ;) I'll be updating Friday. :)
