Loved You First (Sequel to Simon's Daughter)

Chapter 17

Julia’s POV:
“Mommy, when is daddy coming?” Lexi whined as she stood in front of the television blocking my view. I shrugged my shoulders.

“I don’t know, sweetheart. He’ll be here soon though, don’t worry.” I gave her a reassuring smile as she sighed, and walked out of the room with her shoulders slumped. I smiled lightly to myself seeing how cute she looked. She really loved Niall and I was more than happy that they both shared an undeniably loving relationship. I heard the doorbell ringing and instantly knew it was Niall. I got up happily and made my way to the door to see Lexi already there, waving at Niall from the window beside it. I laughed, unlocking the door, and allowing him inside.

“DADDY!” Lexi squealed jumping up, as he picked her up. He chuckled that adoring laugh, and kissed her cheek.

“How are you, princess?” Niall smiled at her, kissing her once more on her forehead.

“Good. Daddy guess what?” Lexi’s eyes widened and she rose her eyebrows.

“What?” Niall tried to sound enthusiastic for her.

“Mommy stayed in her clothes all day!” Lexi turned slightly to point at me. She was correct. It’s already noon and I’m still in my pajamas (Julia’s Pajamas). I was lazy.

“Oh, was she now?” Niall questioned Lexi as he brought his gaze to me. He looked me up and down and winked at me, causing me to blush. Thank god Lexi wasn’t paying attention!

“Mhm.” Lexi smiled widely and looked back at Niall.

“Hey, I never got a kiss back.” Niall pouted, and pursed his lips out. Lexi giggled and gave him a kiss.

“There you go, daddy!” Lexi giggled a little more, and Niall set her down.

“Okay, go on and play princess. I want to talk to your mum.” Lexi happily skipped down the hall and into her room.

“So…” Niall began, slowly walking towards me.

“Well hi there.” I smiled raising my eyebrow as he finally came closer to me, planting a sweet and gentle kiss on my lips.

“Why aren’t you dressed?” Niall pouted and folded his arms.

“Wow, that’s not how you acted when you were checking me out just a minute ago.” I rolled my eyes, but sent him a smile.

“I wanna take you gals out today. And trust me, I don’t want you to get changed either.” Niall smirked at me, as we sat on the couch. I laid my head on his shoulder.

“Then I should just wear my pajamas out.” I laughed quietly and felt his chest vibrate a little due to him laughing as well.

“As sexy as you look right now, I don’t want other guys staring at you…” I hit his chest playfully.

“Babe, even if they do, you know there is nobody I would rather be with than you.” I lifted my head up, and my lips instantly met his.

“Well c’mon we don’t have all day, miss.” He teased, standing up and helping me up with him. As I was about to make my way to my bedroom, he smacked my bum lightly and smirked. I went into my bedroom, shutting the door behind me. Quickly, I pulled an outfit together and began getting dressed. After I put on a light layer of makeup, and finished putting my shoes on, I was ready (outfit).

Once I entered the living room, I saw Lexi being tickled by none other than Niall. I smiled at the sight, and then walked up to the two of them.

“So I guess we’re ready?” Niall eyed me up and down again smirking. I rolled my eyes at him seeing as Lexi was still in the room.

“YES!” Lexi shouted enthusiastically. Niall smiled, and picked her up, placing her on his hip.

-

Niall just decided walk around Los Angeles with us. I was still nervous about going out to places with Lexi because I didn’t want her to be seen again. It was bad enough that Louis posted the picture on Twitter, and now all of their careers could be ruined…

“You okay?” Niall asked, looking over to me. I guess he noticed the worry in my face. We were walking down the sidewalk with Lexi in the middle, holding our hands.

“Uh, y-yeah.” I didn’t look him in the eye because he would have known I was lying.

“Babe, you know you can tell me anything, right?” I couldn’t see his eyes, due to his sunglasses, but he sounded a bit hurt.

“Niall, I promise, it’s nothing.” I gave him a forced smile, and he just dropped the subject.

We arrived at a very fancy restaurant that I’ve actually never been to. I’m sure it was expensive, just by the look of it. My eyes widened at the elegant décor, and my jaw dropped.

“Niall, we can go somewhere else, you know…” I insisted. If we were staying, I was definitely helping him pay.

“Jules, it’s fine. I got it.” He pecked my cheek and walked up to the hostess. She soon seated us in the back away from everyone else. He never liked fancy restaurants like this, so I wasn’t sure why he picked this one. Once we sat down, Niall decided to sit across from Lexi and I. He looked a bit nervous himself, if I was being innocent.

“Are you okay?” I asked with a worried laugh. He raised his eyebrows at me, as if he was fine. But deep down inside we both knew that something was bothering the both of us. I’m sure it wasn’t the same thing, but it still made me anxious.

“Look, I—“ We both said at the same time. We laughed awkwardly but he allowed me to talk first.

“I’m just…nervous that the paps will see Lexi. After what happened with Louis and everything, I’m just scared to even go outside with her. Everyone already knows she’s mine but if she’s around you and the boys, I’m sure you’ll all get in trouble. I’m almost positive your management will be really upset.” I said quickly, taking a deep breath when I finished. I saw Niall sigh, bringing his gaze to Lexi, then back to me. She was currently drawing, not paying attention to what either of us was talking about.

“No matter what happens, you know I’ll always be there for the both of you. You honestly don’t know how much I love you if you didn’t think that.” His hand rested on my knee underneath the table and he smiled at me assuring me everything would be alright.

“I know I just—“

“Worry too much?” He chuckled, finishing my sentence for me. I smile slightly and nodded my head.

“So enough with me…what were you planning on saying?” I asked, seeing Niall take a deep breath. Before he could speak, our waiter came to take our order. Once we finished ordering, Niall still couldn’t tell me what he wanted to say because Lexi was trying to talk with him.

“See daddy?” Lexi pointed to the picture she made of the three of us. “This one is you, this is me, and this is mommy.” She pointed to each figure on the paper.

“You drew me so good looking on there. I wish I looked like that in real life.” Niall pretended to fake cry, causing Lexi to let out a giggle, and for me to smile.

“But you are daddy! You’re really pretty!” Lexi continued to draw on her piece of paper.

“Lex, the word pretty is mainly for girls. You call boys you think are ‘pretty’ handsome.” Niall tried to teach her, but she didn’t really pay any attention towards her.

“Babe, what were you going to say earlier?” I tried asking him.

“Oh…uh…I don’t really remember.” He shrugged his shoulders, looking down at his phone. The only thing he will never improve on is his lying. He is terrible at it.

“Okay…” I just brushed it off, as he did earlier to me. He didn’t really seem like he was bothered by it anymore, so I just dropped the conversation.

-

By the time we finally got back to the house it was already eight. Niall had successfully put Lexi to sleep and we just laid next to each other on the bed. I decided that I wanted to bring up the earlier subject of what he was going to say…it had been bugging me all day. I turned over to face him, but his eyes remained glued to the TV.

“Babe, why won’t you tell me what you were going to say earlier?” I whined, hoping he would just give in and tell me. He turned to face me, and he just looked at me for a moment.

“You’re so beautiful.” He leaned in, kissing my cheek, his touch lingering.

“Niall.” I groaned, knowing that his kisses always make me weak. He scooted closer to me, slightly hovering over me.

“I love you so much.” He continued ignoring me, leaving small butterfly kisses on my neck and jaw line.

“Niall, really—“

He cut me off, his lips attacking mine. His tongue grazed over my bottom lip begging me for entrance. I denied him access, fighting his tongue from getting in my mouth. I felt his hand roam around my body, his finger slowly gliding across the hemline of my shorts, causing me to gasp. In one swift action, Niall allowed his tongue into my mouth as I gasped. That tricky bastard. I pushed him off with all my might, trying not to give into temptation.

“You’re such a tease.” He frowned, lying back on the pillow.

“Niall, what’s wrong? You’re like avoiding something…” I said, looking at him. I saw his body stiffen and his jaw clenched slightly.

“Babe I’m fine. Stop worrying.”

“Niall, stop lying to me. I’m sick of it! You’ve been like this all day! I told you what was bothering me, yet you don’t tell me what’s bothering you? I thought this was a trusting relationship?” I scoffed, turning back onto my back.

“We have to leave this weekend.” He said quickly. I wasn’t sure if I heard him clearly.

“W-What?”

“The lads and I have to be back in England this weekend.”
