Fate don't fall short this time

“I am okay to sleep in a room alone. You know?” I said as I entered Harry’s room.

“I know you are, but maybe I’m just as tired as you are.” He said his footsteps trailing behind me.
I grabbed my bag and began searching through it for my Kindle, toothbrush and retainer. Ah. There’s my Kindle! I dropped the bag and set my Kindle on the bed.

“Do you know where my retainer, toothpaste and toothbrush are?” I ask Harry who is already shirtless and in boxer shorts. His inked skin is perfection. I let out a small gasp. He grinned at me. He heard me.

“I think you left it in the living room when you poured out your purse for your inhaler.” He said smiling.

“Oh okay! I will get it then. Thanks!” I said walking toward the door.

“I can get it.” He said blocking my exit.

“Harry, I’m not helpless.”

“I know I just like helping.” He said taking his bottom lip into his teeth. My body tightened as I pushed past him. I walk into the living room to pick up the contents of my bag and hear the boys talking in the other room.

“Do you think Harry likes her?” Niall asks Louis.
“It seems he’s interested, but you know how that works. He’s interested, he gets it, and he leaves.” Louis replies dryly. My heart sinks.

“I don’t think it’s like that though.” Zayn chimes in. I like him the best right now.

“Why do you care anyway, Niall?” Louis asks.
“She’s hot. You can’t deny that!” Niall says raising his voice. I think he just died in the game.
“I can I’ve got a girlfriend.” Louis states.
“I think she’s really attractive.” Liam says.
“And she’s got an ass.” Says Zayn.
“FUCK! I quit this game!” Louis shouts. Shit, shit, shit. I begin shoving things into my bag just in time for them to all come into the living room.
“Oh hi guys! I just couldn’t find my retainer. And it was out here!” I say through panicked laughter. I begin to walk away as Niall grabs my arm.
“Are these your glasses?” He says handing me my coral glasses case.
“Yes they are thank you! I was just about to read too!” I said opening them and putting my glasses on. Louis laughed.
“Those are quite large for your face aren’t they, love?”
“I like the way they fit!” I say with a pouty face.
“They look lovely.” Liam says nudging me as he walks by.
I think I’m being accepted into this little family type thing they have. I think as I walk back toward Harry’s room. Harry. Louis’ word replay in my head, “He’s interested, he gets it, and he leaves.” I walk into the room and put my bag on the ground next to the others.
“Nice glasses.” His eyes look HD now thanks to my large glasses.
Stop. Test the waters. See if he makes a move. I decide to see if Louis’ statement was true. I shut the door.
“Harry, you don’t mind if I sleep in what I usually wear to bed right?” His eyes light up as he nods. I slowly take off my blue shorts to reveal black lacy boy shorts he saw me in earlier. Ask him to where his shirt. NO NO. Fuck.
“Do you have a large shirt I can wear?” I ask in a little kid way. He rushes to his dresser and gives me a loose fitting green and yellow one. I take off my shirt and put his on. I can feel his eyes watching me. I take a few steps and leap on the bed. I grab my Kindle. He hasn’t said a word. Shit.
“What are you reading?” He asks in uneven tones.
“It’s totally girly.” I reply.
“Come on tell me.”
“I’m reading “My Sister’s Keeper” for like the tenth time.” He laughs a laugh filled with life. I begin to laugh too. It feels good to laugh.
“I don’t have to read it tonight though.” I say with a seductive smirk. He looks uncomfortable.
“You can read. Or wait we can play that uh question game that American girls like so much?” He says lying down on the pullout couch.
“Twenty Questions.”
