{Chapter 3}
I laid in my bed lost in thought. After Marissa and Lola left, all I could do was stare at the hat and think. It would be risky to go after him. But it felt like I had to. Like I needed to. There was so many unanswered questions; a light at the end of the dark tunnel I wanted so badly to reach. In some ways I felt like I was under water feeling the pressure in my chest as my lungs screamed for air but I couldnt break the surface. I was stuck. If I just left, what would my family say? My grandmother would be so worried. I was the only thing she had left after my mom died. Marissa and Lola would be okay with it. What else did I have to lose though? I grabbed for my phone and called Marissa who I knew was with Lola. They were having a sleep over tonight and had invited me but I politely said no. She answered on the first ring. "Hey!" I took a deep breathe and slowly let it out. "Im going after him."
