Chapter 9: Sing a Song

Chapter 9: Sing a Song (Tori’s P.O.V.)

I couldn’t believe that Sam had done that to me, but I should have seen it coming. He always seemed to manage to get me to sing every time I came in. I moved onto the little stage and headed for the sound system in the back corner of the stage. I flipped through the case of CDs that Sam kept back here for the few shows that he did have. It took me no time to find the one that I was looking for.

“I don’t believe you still have this thing,” I called over to Sam, holding up the CD.

“Are you kidding me?” he called back, “That will be worth something one day.”

I chuckled as I opened the system and placed the CD inside. It took a few moments for the disc to be registered, then I had a decision. Which song was I going to sing? Normally I wouldn’t be so picky, but I wasn’t just singing to the normal crowd. It was hard to forget that I had just brought One Direction here and they were about to hear me live.

I sighed as I started narrowing down my options. There were just too many good songs on this CD.

“Did you forget how to run the system?” Sam laughed.

“No Sam,” I replied, “Just making up my mind.”

“Let’s not take all day,” he said.

I stuck my head around the back corner of the stage and looked at him, “Do you want me to sing or not?”

He held his hands up in surrender, “I want you to sing.”

I nodded my head, “That’s what I thought.”

It didn’t take me much longer after that to make up mind. I had chosen something on the simpler side, but it was still good.

I pressed play and grabbed the mike and mike stand, moving them to the middle of the stage. I listened to the songs opening as I moved a stool behind the mike and sat down. I had perfect timing as I began singing as I sat down.

“Waking up I see that everything is okay.
The first time in my life and now it’s so great.
Slowing down I look around and I am so amazed.
I think about the little things that make life great.”

I hadn’t listened this song in so long, but I loved it. I guess that was why I still remembered the lyrics so well.

“This innocence is brilliant.
I hope that it will stay.
This moment is perfect.
Please don’t go away.
I need you now,
and I’ll hold on to it.”

I let my eyes wonder around the pub. There were nothing but smiling faces looking back up at me. Even the guys we wearing smiles as I sang. I gave them a soft smile. I was so happy that they were enjoying themselves, and that was what music was truly about.

And my smile didn’t falter as I continued on through the song until I reached the last chorus that ended the song.

“Please don’t go away.
I need you now,
and I’ll hold on to it.”

The music faded out as the song ended. The pub was filled with applauding as I stood and took a little bow. I turned and headed back over to the system to turn it off when the chanting started.

“Encore! Encore!”

I sighed as I turned to look at everyone in the pub. They were all chanting as they smiled and clapped at me. The guys were even chanting.

I knew this was going to happen, it always did when I came here. What else was I supposed to do? I turned back to the sound system and chose another song.

Notes

Here you guys go! I found irony with this song after I chose it. "This moment is perfect" LOL. Well any who, I hope you all enjoy! Later, Kiki
