Chapter 7: Unexpected Visitors (Tori’s P.O.V.)
I was a nervous wreck. I was so afraid that my pages would be shut down because of that cover I have uploaded last week. It hadn’t happened yet, but who’s to say that it still couldn’t?
Every few minutes, I would check to see if my page was still there as I questioned myself for recording that cover. That one song could have just ruined me. But I needed to think about something else. It was Friday and I needed to be planning my new cover for tonight. That wasn’t the only thing though, it was also the beginning of my spring break. The beginning of my last spring break of high school. Oh, I was so excited about graduation and leaving those stuffy halls and stuck-up people behind.
“Back on task,” I mumbled to myself as I absentmindedly rubbed Ranger’s head. He was crawled up in my lap as I sat on the edge of my bed. I reached my other hand over and adjusted his homemade collar, a bandana. I mean, he wasn’t named Ranger for nothing. He had become obsessed with one of my bandanas when he was just a kitten, so I had given it to him to wear as a collar. That was how the nickname Ranger was born, and soon it became the only thing that he would answer to.
I silently cursed myself as I noticed that I was off track again. I really needed to get back to work if I was going to get a video up today. And I was even planning on doing a few extra while I had all the extra time from spring break.
“Tori!” I heard my mom calling from the living room. “There are people here to see you!”
I looked at my door funny as I picked Ranger up so that I could stand. Who would be here to see me? Amber was off at her mom’s for this weekend and mom always told me who was here if they didn’t come straight to my room when they got here.
“Who is it, Mom?” I asked as I turned down the hallway. My mom was smiling at me as I walked down the hallway. I turned to look in the living room and froze. Standing in my living room were five guys that I had never actually met before, but I knew who they were. There was no mistaking who they were.
“You know,” Louis smirked, “It isn’t nice to stare.”
I forced myself to blink, but I didn’t move my gaze from them. I was afraid that if I did, they would disappear. But they weren’t disappearing, One Direction was really standing in my living room.
“You must be Tori-Ly,” Liam gave me a smile. “I think you already know who we are.”
I opened my mouth and said one of the first things that came to my mind, “Why are you here?”
They smiled as I guessed they saw the wonder on my face. I felt a little embarrassed but I could tell that they weren’t making fun of me. At least, that was good.
“We came to bring someone to apologize,” Zayn said with a slight growl as he looked over his shoulder that was away from the other four. Standing there was a man dressed in business casual clothing and he didn’t seem that happy to be here. I raised an eyebrow at the guys, wondering who this man was and why he owed me an apology.
“Richard…” Harry urged as he leaned forward to look at the man. The other four boys followed the pattern and looked at the man as they waited for him to speak.
“Fine,” he huffed. I recognized his voice, which I found odd. “I’m sorry for threatening you and trying to shut down your internet pages.”
My eyes widened as I realized who this was. “You’re the guy from the phone call,” I said as I pointed to him. I had forgotten poor Ranger was in my arms and I nearly dropped him.
“Yeah,” Niall started, “We found out and told him that he owed you and apology.”
“And here we are.” Louis smiled as he motioned his arms to the floor.
I couldn’t believe it. One Direction had come to see me to make sure that this guy apologized to me? It was completely surreal.
“And to help make it up to you,” Liam started, “We were hoping you would let us take you out.”
Okay, this wasn’t happening. There was no way in the world I even expected to meet One Direction, let alone them wanting to take me out.
“Are you serious?”
They all smiled at me. I couldn’t help it, I was excited. It’s not every day super stars ask you out.
“On one condition,” Louis said as he held up a finger to signal one.
I raised an eyebrow, “And what would that be?”
“Let me hold your cat.” He smiled as he held his arms out toward me. I just giggled as I walked over and let Ranger smell him. Ranger was incredibly curious of who all of these people were but I wasn’t sure if he would go to Louis or not. But after a minute, Ranger started to rub Louis’s hand and I knew that I could hand him over without worrying that he might claw Louis to death.
“Now that Louis had his condition,” Harry said as he walked over and slung an arm around my shoulders. “Let’s go have some fun.”
“If it’s okay with her mom,” Zayn added as he leaned forward and looked at my mom. I looked over at her too, my heart racing a mile a minute.
She looked the boys over and then made eye contact with me. She had to see the excitement in my eyes. I mean, come on mom.
“Alright,” she smiled. I nearly ran Harry over as I ran over and gave my mom a hug.
“Thank you.”
She laughed a little. She let me go and looked at me and the boys, “But I have a few rules.”
I watched as they all watched my mom intently to listen.
“I am trusting you boys with my daughter and I don’t want that trust violated. You have my baby and you are responsible that she gets home to me safely. And please keep an eye on her.” my mom was smiling the whole time that she was talking, but the guys could tell that she was being serious.
“Yes, ma’am,” they all said.
I smiled as I headed to my room to grab my purse and shoes. I could not believe this. I was going to be spending the first day of my break with the one and only One Direction.
