Chapter Twenty Three
-JOEYS POV-
I squealed and jumped up and down. Its Monday afternoon and we just finished out meeting with Will Roberts, my new manager! I only have to work like 3 days a week or whenever they need me to come in so I get a lot of free time! I get paid like 300$ a week! It’s awesome! I HAVE to go tell Harry. I excuse myself from the rest of the meeting because they are just talking about financing and my mom can deal with that. I grab my keys and my purse and I drive to Harry’s house. I have been to his house only once before and his family wasn’t there so it was probably weird just showing up at his front door. I ring the doorbell and an older woman answers. I am guessing it’s his mom.
“Oh hello?” His mom says to me.
“Hi. I am Joey Parker. We haven’t officially met yet.” I say to her.
“Oh my! You are who Harold keeps talking about!” She says and I blush. I stick my hand out for her to shake but she pushes it away and gives me a hug. I hug her back. It feels so good to be loved especially with all of the shit at home. She pointed me to the direction of Harry’s room and when I got up there he wasn’t in his room. I was confused until I realized his shower was running. I smiled and sat on his bed. I waited for him to come out but soon I heard something. He was singing. Holy shit. He is amazing! Harry was singing one of my favorite songs!

When I realized he was finished, I decided I wanted to surprise him so I hid in his closet. But so I know he would check the closet, I took his phone and sat down on the floor of the closet. When he opened the door, I waited a minute so he could get dressed. I called his phone so he would come looking for it. I waited for the door to open. I can hear harry talking to himself.
“Fuck! Where the bloody hell is it?!” he says and I giggle but cover my own mouth because I think I just gave it away.
“Gemma, I swear if its you-“ He starts when he opens the door but stops himself when he sees me.
“Hey babe! Looking for this?” I say grinning and holding up his phone.
“I was but I like what’s holding it better” he says smirking which make me blush. He wraps his arms around my waist and I wrap my arms around his neck.
“You’re an amazing singer ya know.” I tell him smiling. His cheeks blushed furiously.
“You heard that?” He whined and I nodded.
“Don’t be ashamed Harry. You’re amazing!” I rest my forehead against his. My fingers start to play with his curls. I stand on my tippy toes and kiss him on the lips. I broke the kiss because I remembered why I was here in the firstplace.
“Omigosh harry! I forgot to tell you! I got the sponser job! I get to be in commercials and I get paid like 300$ a week and-“ he cuts me off.
“I am so proud of you Joey. How about we go out tonight? I have the perfect place! Come on!” He says as he grabs my hand and leads me downstairs. Before we left he grabbed a blanket out of a closet.

We stopped at Nandos and picked up food before we drove for about 10 more minutes. When we stopped, we were outside of an old farmhouse on a hill. He got out and opened my door for me. He grabbed the food and I grabbed the blanket. I laid out the blanket and he set out the food. We ate and talked and laughed and it was amazing. When the sun was getting ready to set, I sat in front of him and looked in his beautiful green eyes. He pulled me close and placed a soft kiss on my lips. I leaned my forehead against his. He tucked a strand of hair behind my ear and left his hand on my cheek guiding my lips to his. We kissed for a while and when we were finished I laid my head in his lap to watch the rest of the sunset while he played with my hair.

“Joey?” he said nervously.
“Yes Harold?” I say looking up at him.
“I love you.” He said to me as I looked into his eyes. Did I love him? It sure felt like I did but I wouldn’t know. Just as I was about to say something on how I don’t know if I loved him back, something hit me. My moms mental checklist.
Do you get butterflies when you kiss? Check.

Do you ever think about anyone else but this person? Nope.

“I love you too Harold.” I say smiling. He grins and places a small peck on my nose.
-BRIES POV-
It’s about 8:30 and the sun is setting. I am waiting for Joey to get home when I hear tapping at my window. I go over and open the window to see Niall with a bag of caramel corn. Seriously? Caramel corn? Very original I must say. He motions for me to come down so I grab my shoes and run downstairs. When I reach the front lawn, he meets me half way giving me a big hug and spins me around.
“I missed you!” He says with excitement.
“Babe you just saw me like 4 hours ago.” I say chuckling and he pouted. I give him a peck on the lips. Come on! Lets watch the sunset! I know the perfect spot!” I say dragging him to the side yard of our house. We didn’t have a neighbor on this side because it was just a big field. We walked under two shady trees. It had a perfect view of the sunset. He grabbed his phone out of his back pocket and turned on some music. He put phone on the ground then grabbed my hand.
“May I have this dance?” He asked and I nodded. We danced around for a minute before he dipped me which caused me to giggle. I was still dipped when I leaned up a little and placed a small, gentle kiss on his lips. He deepened the kiss and eventually we were standing there making out next to the driveway. My fingers were running through his hair and his hands were in my back pockets.

Just when I thought things would go a little further, they ruined it. Ugh. Joey and Harry pulled into the driveway.

I felt like shit. Brie said I had a fever and I was running to empty my stomach contents probably every hour. Brie got me to eat something even though I will probably regret it in about 30 minutes. Brie said she would call Harry or Zayn. She can’t leave me alone and she has a big test in trig today so she can’t miss it.
This is going to be a very bad day. I can already tell.
-BRIES POV-
“Hello? Hey Zayn, do you have to be at school today? Damn. Okay see you soon.” I hung up. Time to call Harry.
“Hey Hazza. Do you have to be in school today? Good cause your girlfriend is really sick but I have a HUGE test in trig that I can’t miss. Okay see you in a few. Bye Hazza.” Thank god. I will tell Joey the good news and then I will get out of here. I HATE being around sick people.
Harry got here quick and I led him to where Joey was. She was lying in bed coughing and snuggling her giant frog that she sleeps with every night.
“She has probably got some kind of stomach bug. I gave her medicine so she isn’t contagious but she is still puking her guts out like every three seconds.” I tell him as I pat his shoulder.
“Good luck. She is clingy when she is sick. Also she gets pissy so don’t make her mad.” I warn then walk out. Poor Harold. He was going to have a long day…….So I thought.
-HARRYS POV-
I walked into Joey’s room, taking in consideration of what Brie warned me of.
When she saw me she just smiled to herself. She got up from bed.
“I am so bored! Let’s do something fun!” She says excitedly running around her room. It was funny until she stopped suddenly.
“Woa……I am dizzy.” She said grabbing a hold of my shoulder so she doesn’t fall over.
“Jesus…..Come on Joey. In bed!” I say as I pick her up.
“Ughhh whyyyyy?” She whined.
“Cause’ you need sleep!” I say putting her on her bed. But she sits up.
“Only if you lay with me.” She pouts. The questioned startled me but I happily obliged. I took off my shoes and slid into her bed next to her. She turned to face me and scootched closer.
“Now I have a real person to cuddle instead of Banana Nay Nay! He is my giant frog!” She tells me like a child that just got a new toy. I chuckled. Joey is so adorable. She put her head in the crook of my neck so I wrapped my arm around her waist and she quickly fell asleep. She was so gorgeous when she slept. I dozed off sometime later with her body still close to mine.
