One Life, Live It
Chapter 16: Day 6
Day 6: 1:00 PM
*Kariann’s POV*
Okay, so the paparazzi was following us. The boys didn’t want them to follow us home for pictures of anything, so you know what alternative that came up with? To hide us in their hotel room! Honestly, I don’t think that’ll make the situation any better, but what choice did Abbi and I have? Well, I guess I wouldn’t mind being stuck in a hotel room with One Direction, but I had a little issue.
Harry fucking Styles was here. Haha, oh yeah, what a great day for me. I should’ve sent Dakota or somebody else to take these crazy bastards home.
Yeah, okay, I wasn’t in the best mood at the moment, but who could blame me. Liam and Abbi were chatting it up. Louis and Niall were giggling in a corner about whatever happened with Bonnie and Dakota last night. Zayn was staring at Harry. And, ah, Harry? You got it. His eyes were right on me.
I was perfectly content with staring out the window for the moment, staring down at the white van with people standing outside taking pictures. We were fifteen stories high and I was at the perfect angle to where they couldn’t see me behind the couch. This just sucked. “How long are we going to stay here?” I asked, not even daring to turn my head and look at the boys.
“Until they leave?” Liam offered.
“It’s been two hours. How much longer?” Abbi asked.
“Depends on how desperate they are.” Louis said.
“In other words, it’ll probably be for a while.” Zayn said.
I just let out a sigh. “I’m kind of hungry.” Niall commented.
“You’re always hungry.” I heard Louis comment.
“Not my fault. I think I’m still h-“
I looked over upon hearing a loud smack. A thud could be heard as Louis slapped Niall and made him fall on the floor. “What the fuck!?” Naill spat, rubbing his cheek and rotating his jaw.
Louis pointed at the boy. “We had a deal. Keep your mouth shut.”
Niall eyes widened as if he remembered. “Oh yeah.”
“You think you’re still what?” Liam pressed, giving him an eye.
Niall offered a cheeky smile. “Hungry. Still hungry. Who wants room service?”
“Neh, can’t hurt. I’m in.” Abbi said.
“Same here, mate!” Louis said, offering Niall a hand.
Niall grabbed it, getting pulled up. “I’ll just get something for everybody. Louis, you get the drinks.”
“Aight, mate.” Louis gave him a thumbs up.
The two of them left the room, deciding that ordering from their own rooms would be better. Curse my eyes for having a mind of their own, they ended on Harry. He was quick to catch me looking. I’m pretty sure people could feel the stare radiating the room. “Hey, Li, there any vending machines around here?” Abbi asked, nudging him with her elbow.
“Yeah, yeah. Down the hall. I’ll show you.”
I stared at Abbi. Don’t you dare leave me! I begged through my mind. She offered a wink before leaving the room with Liam. I stared at Zayn. He stared back. “Wellp!” He said, jumping to his feet. He avoided my glaring gaze as he smiled down at Harry. “I’m going to make a phone call. You two have fun… with whatever it is you do.”
I wanted to cry. He left, leaving Harry and I alone. “Fuck me!” I complained as I grabbed the nearest pillow, slid down to where I was laying on the couch, and placed the thing over my head.
“I don’t think that’s exactly the kind of thing you should be saying, given everything that’s happen, love.” Harry said. I could hear him chuckling.
Well, I had nothing to say to that. He did have a point. I just laid there, letting the pillow hide my face. I could hear him getting up from sitting on the recliner, walking over to where I was laying on the couch. From the corner of my eye I could see him squatting down to my level. “Why are you ignoring me?” He asked.
“I’m not.” I muttered.
“Okay, how about I change my words around? Why are you avoiding me?”
I stayed quiet. “I don’t know.” Lie. I knew.
“You’re lying.”
How the hell could he tell? “It’s nothing.” I answered.
“Obviously not.” I felt him tug at the pillow. “I have feelings too, you know? I don’t like being ignored. What’s going on? Was that night really that bad?”
My breath caught. Did he seriously just bring that up? He took my moment of weakness to an advantage as he pulled the pillow away. I quickly sat up and his eyes stayed on mine as I rested against the couch arm. “It’s… I…” I couldn’t find the words to speak.
“Kariann-“ He started.
“I don’t remember!” I quickly confessed.
I saw him blink for a few moments. “What?”
“I don’t remember what happened that night, okay? I was drunk out of my mind. So whether it was good or bad, well, I don’t know.” I finally found the courage to lock eyes with him. “But either way, I don’t know. I just… my feelings get wrapped up when I’m around you.”
He cocked his head, eyebrows raised a little in curiosity. “How?”
“I don’t know how to explain it.” I breathed. “One moment I just completely hate you and don’t want to be anywhere near you, the next…”
Shit, was he really going to make me say it. His eyes were piercing. So very tempting.
“How much do you want to know?” He asked, his voice low and quiet, so very attractive.
I looked at him confused. “What?”
“I can tell you want to remember.” A small breath of a laugh escaped his lips as he gave me a half grin. He leaned forward, standing up some as he tried to lean his face toward mine. “You were a feisty one, I’ll admit that.”
He reached up, taking a lock of my hair, brushing it back to put it behind my ear. “You took control the whole every time I attempted to take over.” His knee rested against the side of the couch as he swung his other leg over to lightly sit over my thighs. I didn’t stop him. I was a little confused and honestly a little too distracted to care. His thumb trailed over my cheek. “I hated it, but then again, I loved it.” He whispered. I felt his lips lightly trace my other cheek and trial long my jawline. My eyes closed as I felt his lips gently place themselves on a sensitive place on my neck.
“I’ve never met a girl that could be so soft and rough at the same time…” He murmured. “I always try to take control, but I never can.”
He. Bit. My. Neck. My eyes shot open, feeling my hands grab him and we both fell off the couch where he took the short fall onto the ground, landing on his back and I landed on my knees on either side of his waist. I placed either hand on his chest, staring down at him as he just grinned up at me and I could feel him place his hands on my waist.
“See what I mean?”
