Chapter 3
"The mixing of the pills and alcohol that Mr. Horan took are very dangerous."
The doctor seemed to be beating around the bush a bit hating to be the bearer of bad news.
Liam said "So what is your point?"
The doctor shifted his weight nervously, "Mr. Horan almost completely damaged his eyesight and may never see again. I'm sorry. You may go in and see him now."
Liam ran in to Niall's room and practically fell on top of Niall in his bed. Thankfully, Niall was still sleeping and it didn't seem to wake him.
Liam held Niall in his arms and there was nothing you could do to pull him away from Niall. The other boys came in and sat down. Hadley was about to leave them to be with their friend when Niall's eyes opened. She kinda stood in the back of the room in case they needed help.
Hadley's little sister was born blind so she has experience.
Liam looked over at Niall, "Ni, it's me Liam."
"Liam, did I die?"
Liam sighed and started to cry, "No, thankfully you didn't. It is all because of Hadley over here."
Realization flashed over Liam's face. Niall can't see anything anymore. It broke him. Harry had to take Liam out of the room. Hadley cautiously went over to Niall and sat where Liam had been previously.
"Niall, I'm Hadley."
Before she could say anything more Niall said, "Why can't I see you?"
Hadley looked pained, "Niall, the pain medicine and alcohol may have permanently damaged your eyesight."
"I'm blind?"
Hadley sighed, "Yes."
Niall's face suddenly got red and his mouth turned into a scowl.
He started yelling at Hadley, using very choice words, about how it is all her fault and that if she had just left him, he could have died and been at peace with everything.
Hadley tried not to be offended by his yelling and gently whispered, "Niall, why would you want to die in the first place? Don't you know you're friends love you and would be lost without you?"
"You don't know anything, cunt." Niall spat.
"I guess you're right, I don't but you're best friend Liam is out there in the hall practically having a panic attack over you so I guess he really doesn't care about you."
"Leave, now." Niall commanded.
He is sick of this girl acting like she knows everything and he despised her for saving his life and making him a bigger burden to everyone.
Hadley didn't hesitate to leave the room. On the way out, she passed Liam being cradled by Harry. She pulled out a paper and pen and wrote down her number and approached the two boys.
"Harry?" He looked up waiting for her to continue. "Here is my number if you guys need anything at all."
He smiled a weak smile and thanked her for her kindness and said that they would be forever indebted to her. She insisted it was no problem and then left the hospital. She went back to the studio to meet with Bailey and tell her about all that has happened. She got a tour of the studio as well and then Bailey took her out to dinner. After dinner, Bailey suggested they go to back to her flat and watch some chick flicks.
Hadley insisted there is something really important she needed to take care of but they can do it some other time. Bailey seemed a bit confused but she let her best friend go. Hadley had her eyes set on one thing and that was all that mattered to her at the minute. She feels like she finally knows what she is supposed to do with her life.
