Harry's POV:

''Jackass.'' I heard her mumbling.

Honestly, why is she so fucking nosy?! Doesn't she understand that I don't need anyone?

I might have let her help me in the morning when I was a mess, but that's it. I don't want her to get involved with my life, or find out anything. No one here knows what I am going through and I intend on keeping it that way. I don't need anyone's pity.

Alice is the only one who ever helped me when I was covered in bruises, cuts and blood. Everyone else immediately runs away once I'm in their sight. The reason that I don't want her to know anything about my life is because I will put her in danger, and getting her or anyone hurt is the last thing I want to do right now.

Finally, 'home'.

Oh, dad isn't here yet. How lovely. I quickly get inside and open the fridge to grab the juice I have hidden deep inside the fridge. I go upstairs to leave my bag and throw my now empty juice box in the garbage. I change into my pj's and head to bed for a quick nap, soon enough I was in dreamland.

I woke up by a loud closing of the door. Before, I could get out of bed I heard dad's car outside leaving. Maybe he will come back tomorrow morning, he always does that.

I look over at the clock. 5p.m.

Awesome. I can't sleep again. So I jog outside and lock the door, I started to take a walk, in need of a breather.

After a few minutes of walking, it started raining so I came across Starbucks and got in. I didn't have any money so I just sat there in the corner of the shop so they wouldn't notice me and kick me out for not buying anything.

In the corner of my eye I saw a familiar brunette with loose curls hanging over her shoulders. I immediately recognized her as Alice.

Well, shit. What am I supposed to do now? Alice caught me staring.

She gasped and turned back around fast. I chuckled, she was acting cute. Then she started smiling and getting up from her seat only to take the one opposite me.

''Hey.'' she said casually.

''What now?'' I said, sounding a bit more annoyed than what I was going for.

She frowned and looked at me. I looked back.

Alice's POV:

There was a Starbucks cafe. Oh, how I miss Starbucks. I found a parking for my car and hopped off of it to head to Starbucks.

As I sat down on a booth with my warm coffee, I turned outside to see that it was raining. Great, a storm is exactly what I need now. Note the sarcasm.

To Mommy:

-When will you finish from work?

I soon received a message from mom.

From Mommy:

-I'm afraid I'm stuck at work until tomorrow morning.. Sorry hun xx

Perfect, how am I going to sleep at home all alone with a storm outside?! I'm completely terrified of them.

I was spaced out for a good 10 minutes or so. I turned to see the customers around me when my eyes landed on Harry. I gasped, turning around. What the hell? How come I didn't notice him entering Starbucks?

I took a deep breath, and decided to join him so I smiled and stood up, sitting at the seat opposite him. His face, a blank expression.

''Hey.'' I said, trying to sound casual.

''What now?'' he replied. He faced me, his eyes showing annoyance and fatigue.

Why do I even bother with him. He clearly doesn't want me disturbing him.

I sighed, getting up from the seat ready to leave before his hand gripped my arm, for the first time, gently. His hands were freezing.

I turned around, still standing up, to look him in the eyes. I could tell by the look of his face, he was trying to show me that he was sorry but didn't have the guts to say it. He tugged on my hand wanting me to stay. So I sat back down.

Seeing that he had no drink I asked him.

''Didn't you buy anything?'' He slightly closed his eyes for seconds, inhaling before opening them again.

''No.. I forgot to bring money.''

''Oh, well that's okay. I'll buy you one.'' I half smiled.

His eyes widened a little and he looked up at me in surprise.

''No. I'm not really thirsty anyways.''

''Yeah but your hands are really cold. Come on,'' I got up and signaled for him to follow me to the counter. ''you need something to warm you up.'' He stared at me for a while, he snap out of it and hesitantly got up too.

''Two caramel macchiatos, please.''

''Sure, coming right up! That will be 8 dollars.'' the lady told me smiling. I gladly paid, watching Harry from the corner of my eye slightly tensed. I don't think he likes others paying for him.

''Thank you. Your names?''

''Harry and Alice.'' I answered, giving her a friendly smile and getting one in return from the lady.

''Aww, you guys look so cute together!'' she said, looking up at us while writing our names on the cups.

I smiled at the thought, a little bit surprised though. I'm sure we didn't exactly look like a couple. I looked at Harry, only to see him with an annoyed and surprised expression. I turned back at the lady.

''Um, thanks?'' She smiled at me and gave me the receipt.

''You're welcome.'' she said, winking.

We went to other counter to wait for our drinks. I got both of them and gave one to Harry. We sat back down at our booth, opposite each other. He looked at the coffee weirdly. I guess he never tried anything like this before. So sad.

''Go on. You'll love it. I'm positive.'' I said, emphasizing the word 'love' a bit.

He took a sip and I did so as well.

''So? Tasty, isn't it?''

''It's actually pretty good.''

''See? I told you.'' I said, grinning.

We continued enjoying our drinks in a quite comfortable silence. We shared small talks every now and then but he wasn't really talkative, he actually looked tired. When I looked out the window I realized that the rain had stopped, and it was night time. I sighed sadly and looked down at my drink, unconsciously tracing patterns on the side of it with my hand. Mom is working until tomorrow, meaning that I have to sleep alone at home.

Harry looked at me with a questioning look.

''What's wrong?''

''Um..'' I didn't want to tell him about me being afraid of staying at home by myself. It's a bit embarrassing.

''Nothing, I just hate .. this kind of weather.'' I pointed out the window.

He nodded and continued sipping on his drink.

Some minutes later, I realized that I needed to go back home.

''Hey, I need to get going. It's getting late.'' I said.

''Yeah me too.''

''Want a ride?''

''No thanks, I prefer walking.''

''But it's all wet and cold outside. It would be very impolite of me if I let you walk home by yourself.'' I insisted.

''It's fine.'' he said, getting up. Now it was my turn to grab a hold of his arm. I gave him a serious and pleading look and he sighed in defeat. I smiled in victory.

We got out of Starbucks and I led him to my car. I heard him gasp so I turned around to see what his reaction was for.

''This is your car?'' he asked surprised, emphasizing 'your'.

''Yep. My baby.''

''Cool.''

''Thanks.'' I smiled. I got in the driver's seat while Harry got in the passenger's seat. I turned the ignition on and asked for directions to his house. He explained and I started heading to it.

There was silence, so I turned on the radio. The song 'Just One Last Time' by David Guetta ft. Taped Rai was playing. I turned the volume a bit down so I could concentrate on the road.

Harry turned it a bit more down and I was about to ask him why when he spoke.

''Why did you thank the lady who complimented us as a couple?''

''Well, I wasn't in the mood to explain to a stranger, I just wanted our coffees. Besides, it's not like she knows us.'' I stated the obvious and Harry nodded.

I turned the volume back up a bit and about ten minutes later he turned it back down.

I laughed but not too loudly, more like a giggle.

''Would you stop turni-''

''Why do you care so much about me?'' he interrupted me.

Notes

Next Chapter is already done but It'll be posted tomorrow. So, I just wanted to say something that happened yesterday.

Anyways, that's it for today. Next Chapter might be shorter but we'll see.
