Motivation?

Hiii peepss,

So I was about to write a story, actually I wrote the first 3 chapters after which I shattered my phone so that's all gone now. But now, I don't really have the motivation to start all over again. So the question is: how do all of you get the motivation from to keep updating? I've been struggling with this for a while because I really want to start writing but I just never really have the time, or well maybe I do, but I just can't get myself to sit down and write.

long story short: please tell me how you do it :)
oh + how do you upload files or copy paste, bc whenever I write a chapter on word/notes I have to type it all over again when I want to upload it and that's reaally annoying.

Hello there!

Everyone has different ways of motivation to write. I'm struggling to write now but I try to push on by writing future scenes so I can go back and write whatever I'm stuck on afterwards. I listen to a lot of music. That really helps me write and if I hear a certain song, it will motivate me to write a scene or a chapter. This is just me but sometimes I listen to compilations of Harry's voice, either singing or talking. I don't know why but that can help me write a chapter from his POV because I can see what he would say and how he would say it from the way he talks. If I could narrow my motivation down to one thing, it would be listening to music. So maybe try that.

In regards to actually posting/uploading a chapter, I copy and paste from my Word document. My chapters tend to be long so there's no way I'm writing everything all out again!

OH NO! I hate when I lose things because of the stupid technology. Honestly, you find motivation to write, or I do, when you have a story line that you can absolutely fall in love with. Music is a great motivator as well as a great place to go when you need inspiration. I focus on trying to answer the questions that you pose while you're writing, like with characters : what are they like, what do they want. I find a lot of my own motivation within my characters. :) That's just me.

I copy and paste all the time. I would try using a Word document or something like that. :)

I find motivation in falling in love with my story line and characters. Sometimes, when I get stressed, I feel like saying 'fuck it' and abandoning my stories. Then I'm like, "Wait.. I can't let him/her/them not get their ending!"

Thank you so much! So if you write a chapter do you choose a song that kind of "fits" the atmosphere of that chapter or do you first choose a song and than make the chapter fit with the atmosphere of the song? If that makes sense.

Ugh yeah! I lose chapters so often it's crazy, mostly because of my own stupid faults though :/ but that makes me hate it even more!
Motivation in characters! How smart! Never thought of it that way, I'm going to keep that in mind! Thank you so much! X

I go with the latter, so I choose a song (or a few songs) and write a chapter based around the feelings of those songs. There are a couple of songs that inspire the entire story of Always and others are for certain chapters. It depends. I hope this helps you!! You're very welcome! :)) xx

Hahah that's so me! I always start writing with a lot of patience, but then after 5 minutes it's already all gone and I'm like "fuck it, I'll finish tomorrow" but then I end up never doing it. Probably because i like the making up a story more than wtiting it, but indeed, maybe i have to but more thought into the characters, thank you! Xx

That's smart! I'm going to try this out as soon as I have time to just sit down and write! Very busy lately with school and other stuff, if only we could just do the things we like, that would be such a relief haha!

Making up the story is definitely more exciting than writing it! I have sooooo many stories in my head but I could never come around to writing them all.
