Chapter Length?

Hey everyone I was just wondering what you guys thought about chapter length? I have seen things both ways on here long chapter and less frequent updates and short chapters and frequent updates. Which do you guys prefer?

Frequent updates are good (though when I write I'm shit about updating). Personally, when writing, I aim for about three pages on a Word document, before spacing paragraphs. Length wise, I mean.

Personally, I hate reading short chapters because I feel like it's an excuse to over extend stories and you can only put so much in a short chapter (if you know how to write) that I just don't find them worth the time. Sometimes, lengthy chapters can make up for the wait. Obviously don't wait long enough that people forget your story though :O

I would say 500-800 words. At least, that's how much I do. :)

I usually prefer longer chapters and less frequent updates. Quality over quantity

I dont like long chapters that much but I also hate really short chapters.

A short first chapter to get me hooked and then after that - I'm happy for them to vary yet as mentioned above; definitely quality over quantity.
